  • This particular multi tool is manufactured for a number of different companies. I bought this tool months ago but never tried it out. Today we will be taking it through it's paces to see if it is worth the roughly $20 value that they are asking for it.

This is one of the more promising electrical Multitools I’ve seen. Tempting for sure.
Maybe I could find a multitool with better secondary tools where the wire stripping head from this would fit in.
If only Leatherman would make a full sized wire stripping tool!

A long time ago, in my early 20s, I was doing some cable repair on the roof of a house. When I got up there, realized i never got my wire strippers. The little leatherman squirt saved my ass that day (not my fingers thought)

I've seen a lot of good things come out of China. This is not one of them. With any tool that I buy, (even the budget ones), reliability is paramount. A shame really, as it had the potential to be a rock-star. Maybe the gen-2?

Tukwila, Wash. is a suburb of Seattle to the South along the I-5 corridor. It is pronounced like "Tuck Willa". As in "Who's going to tuck Willa into bed?"

@@txtoolcrib Couldn't be expected to; you ain't from around these parts. 😉 My mother was from Michigan. She went to visit a friend who lived in the S.F.Bay area. The friend wrote to her to take a certain bus from the train station and get off when the bus driver called out 'San Joaquin'. She went all the way to the end of the line and never heard him call it out. She was listening for "san Joe-ay-quinn" when she should have been listening for "san wha-keen". Spanish wasn't that big in Saginaw in the 20s, but she could cuss a bit in German. The bus driver stopped for her at the right place on the way back.

I'm with in searching for the best electrician multi tool. The Klein one is the best I found. Southwire and the squirt got DC before I could try either and makes me sad

I wanted to try the Southwire as well, missed out on it. I think Greenlee had one at one time too, if memory serves. I think they are missing a huge potential market here. If they took the time to develop a solid version of a full sized tool with quality wire strippers, I think it could really sell. Ideally, I would like to see a Wave sized version of the tool with replaceable stripper blades in a blunt nosed version. Pliers would have a crimper behind the jaw. I would be willing to sacrifice all of the inner tools for that type of plier. Then the four outer tools could be a jab saw, knife blade, driver (similar to the CenterDrive), and a file. I think that could be extremely useful. I don't know, maybe I'm way out in left field on this one. What do you think?

@@txtoolcrib i wanna try that sprinkler tech one, kings innovation L tool. Its hard to find but eBay has em for 20$. But I'm with u, the Klein one was fine actually I just have no use for it in the industrial side

I work in the Oilfield, and our tool harnesses use much smaller gauge wire ( mostly 26 awg to 18 awg). I actually bought the performance tool one about a year ago, and found the cutters catching to be a real pain. No one really makes multi tools with wire strippers that fit my needs. The squirt ES4 is close, but a bit to small. As Ben said, I’d like a full sized (wave sized) version. I wish the Klein had more gauge options.

Anyone stripping wire without first disconnecting the electricity supply first shouldn't be trusted with any tool.

I'm on the same mission, looking for a good electrical multi tool. Appreciate you jumping in to take a look at this. Going to give it a try since my use case shouldn't be too affected by the absence of locks on the tools - mostly computers and radios, so not as much torque as that needed for wood.

hey, check out the ganzo g300 (g302) on aliexpress. it's like a leatherman wave but with the screwdriver bits included. my experience of ganzo is they make good stuff (mostly knives) for the price, but often heavier than you would want, and the g300 seems like that too. but i'm not a multitool expert like you
