    The video starts by showing that discrimination has links with heinous crimes that have been committed against people because they are different. It then goes on to look at the nine protected characteristics which offer legal protection under the 2010 Equality Act. These characteristics are then used to show how people are discriminated against either through direct, indirect or dual discrimination or discrimination through association or perception.
    The video then goes on to show that differences are often used to mock, tease, harass and bully.

    Diversity in charateristics (good) or group identities (bad)

    KSA or DIE.
    If you’re a government worker or a veteran that has applied for a government job your qualifications are based upon: KSA = Knowledge, Skills, Ability.
    DIE = Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (Equity is not the same as Equality) does nothing to prove an individual’s Knowledge, Skills and Ability to do the job.
    If a company feels compelled to add a DIE hiring manager or change their company logo to rainbow colors to pander to the LGBTQ group
    or DIE group, it’s perceived as patronizing and thus that company may be suspect or actually guilty of past discriminatory hiring practices.
    The bottom line…any Federal, State, public or private company that discriminates against a person’s race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, economic status, veteran status or disability is in violation of State and Federal employment laws.
    Teach your children well.

    What country was this video created in as you refer to gender nor sex as protected characteristic? In the UK it is sex.

      Is this the part you're referring to? "Sex or gender is also a protected characteristic and this also applies to any gender reassignment. "

      I noted in the diagram that expands on what each of the protected characteristics cover and it refers to gender not sex and then splits into male and female.

      @@LisaHandyRSEetc Male and female refer to the genders/sex of all species. Man and woman specifically refer to the genders/sex of humans.

    So what if my belief system does not consider a person who has had a sex reassignment a real man or woman? Both their sex reassignment and my belief system fall under protected categories. Who takes priority?

      It's not a case of a priority, but not discriminating against and excluding someone in the workplace. When would this situation occur?

    These people that come up with these laws are so short-sighted they cannot see the immense conflicts of interest that will generate by protecting all kinds of characteristics that contradict each other. I would sure hope to see whoever made this video not discriminate against a doctor who has a zero experience or isn't even a doctor per say try to operate on him during a open heart surgery. in that kind of situation that's when you really show your colors and what you truly believe in. It's easy to say we believe in diversity and equality, then turn around and try to look for the best option in any field: best doctor or best plumber or best Carpenter or best server at a restaurant so on.

      The Equality Act 2010 takes those things into account. There is lawful discrimination where discrimination has to be justified by an employer, for example in the case of a "doctor" or any person trying to perform a serious task with no experience.
