What is the definition of a “cottage” in the US? I live in one in the English countryside (from the early 1400s), and would be interested to know the difference. When I search online 99% of it seems to focus solely on English cottages.

I have a gorgeous deep red tablecloth from France on one wall, and antique rose and soft green jacquard bedstead weaving in my little " library/ media"" room. Looks wonderful and satisfys my need for color!!!
I have a degree in Interior Design. Your work in all your rooms is just amazing. I will never able to any of this but love watching you. Your drive and energy is a joy. I have the same mattress in the last four years. Before that I had the same company 27 years. I know I am slow on the up take.

How can you be an interior designer and not know how to paint or refinish/ repurpose furniture?? My niece has started a staging company with her friend. We love to explore maximizing home's " jewelry"

I went to school back in the early 70's. I can pick paintings for a residence but I do not paint the pictures. Every art form will mature over time as a better mouse trap is made with new blood and new ideas. I watch Holmes repair of others bad work. I enjoy watching the correct and better works. I also an actor and watch musical theatre. I carry a tune but not great but watch and enjoy. Like a lot of sports like watching that which they will never do. Designer point to what they and learn more. You learn more.
Nice ! If you ever wanted to do anything different to this room, painting the ceiling the same colour as the walls would look great. Something fun that is perfect for a cosy guest bedroom
Quick tip for making sure your boards are always flush with your wall: fill the gaps/spaces with caulk or drywall mud! Clear silicone caulk would be easier because it doesn't require sanding and repainting the surrounding walls. It makes the job look extra professional, and in my opinion it makes painting corners a lot easier. Hope that helps!
I wouldn’t use “Cozy” as it gives a more modern clean vibe. But ig everyone has their own version of cozy. I’m just not a fan of zero color and minimalistic things. But the room does look clean and neat.

That piece of decor on the left of the bed is a jar and it's tunisian we use it to cold water in summer and the clay gives a good taste to water we use it also to prepare meat in traditional occasions 😊
That's nice....very nice. I cheat and use some decent panelling wallpaper cos my ol man won't put anything on the nice skimmed walls. TBH, after 40+yrs of doing DIY/decorating together, I'm inclined to agree. We're a bit DIY'd-out thee days. So I get my fix watching really creative young peeps doing wonderful stuff! Thanks for giving me my DIY fix without the graft!

Uh. If I had a cottage, I would definitely never give it a modern look like this. Personally I really don't find it inviting or cozy. But the handiwork was amazing and I'm happy that she likes it so much, I feel like she's a very sweet person. :)
I didn't find your comment mean. Everyone has their own decorating tastes. Like my master room is pink with unicorn and butterfly everything, my dining room is camo and antlers, and my living room is hand-me-down mismatch lol. Few people would want my decorating, but I love it and that's what matters. I'm glad this lady is happy with how hers turned out too.
