    Hey Hugh, I have the video suggestion for you. The pixel Fold has very terrible heat dissipation problems. You should see if you can do a mod of it and improve thermal throttling / heat dissipation on it and it could be something that would work on other phones too.

    Having replaced a battery in my iPhone 8, that’s about the furthest I’d go into the phone. The 6s battery repair is easy, but the 8 one is a bit harder. I struggled to get the Taptic Engine cable plugged back in, took me about 30 minutes of trying. After I got it in I jumped the gun and plugged in the screen before putting the seal on. I was about fed up at this point so I just ignored the seal. I’ll install it at some point.

    She did well, that many screws, brackets and other fiddly bits are no doubt daunting for pretty much everyone.
    That bit about backing out the screws to make sure they're seated correctly for driving them into place is simply good practice anyway, only thing was the prying needed a bit of guidance. Just a shame that the volume button didn't fix that issue, otherwise a really good repair. I'd say an 8.5/10 overall

    Loved this video, it's always great to teach new people on how to repair products like these phones. I've never owned an iPhone but I do agree that there are way too many screws involved, as well as of different sizes and heads. Why do you need 4 different types of screw (Pentalobe, Philips, Tri-wing and Stand-off) for one device?

    Great video as usual! I have an Asus K55N laptop from 2013 that doesn't power on anymore. The AC adapter doesn't power it, so I bought another AC adapter. That didn't work. In fact, the battery that was still good before the laptop stopped working failed to turn the computer on. I think it could be a motherboard issue. What are your thoughts, and is it fixable or replaceable? Thanks for your help.

    • @PvtAnonymous
      @PvtAnonymous ปีที่แล้ว

      diagnosing remotely is pretty hard, a few possible options would be that the battery is preventing the device from starting (so it might start if you disconnect the battery), that the DC jack is broken (hard to tell without having the device in hand) or that there's a component-level issue on the motherboard. To diagnose something like this, I would usually use a multimeter - but that also requires some knowledge of what to look for. Would be best if you take it to a local repair shop, they should be able to tell you what is wrong with it really quick (if they're good at what they do). Good luck!

    • @RobertNewstrand

    A few questions
    My first question is why is everybody’s favorite part the sponger
    Also, how can the battery break the phone if you did not disconnect it first
    Why do you need a plate to take home button?
    Why do you need to take almost every single component out of the phone just to get to one cable for the power or the volume up button?
    But last, but not least do you mind fixing up a phone for me, please?

    This is so awesome! The guy repairing the phone has more patience than me. When i attempted the repair on my iPhone SE, I ended up ripping the touchid cable by mistake when I went to replace the battery. One thing I always do when replacing batteries is I drain them until the phone shuts off because half the time theres so much adhesive that I end up having to manhandle the battery out bending it in the process and with the battery being drained theres virtually 0 chance of me burning down the house

(3.5 in hdd swap to 2.5 in SSD). "We brought a bracket remember!" - "oh yes so it makes the ssd drive the same size as the hdd drive!" :) I then go on to tease them thats hdd is all you need to say, kinda like like ATM, not ATM machine ;)
