  • In my final video of this series from Thailand I go bamboo rafting on the Mae Wang River in the Thai Highlands near Chiang Mai and cool off at a nearby waterfall.
The Mae Wang is a scenic river and tributary once-removed of the Chao Phraya River, the waterway that flows through the heart of Thailand emptying into the Gulf of Thailand near Bangkok. The region through which the Mae Wang runs (which includes Mae Wang National Park) offers incredible vistas, including several elephant camps along its banks.

Now THAT is a raft! I didn't hear any banjo playing!😅 I enjoy videos of the food stalls and temples, but your adventure was refreshing! Thanks Ron❤

Thanks Jack! I'm always grateful for outdoors stuff whenever and wherever it's accessible. It's a nice change of pace for me personally after a lot of pavement walking. One of the beauties of Chiang Mae: culture, history, food AND the outdoors.

What a fantastic journey. Thank you so much for sharing. The bamboo rafts are fascinating, they look so simple and yet can withstand bumping against boulders. That was a beautiful waterfall. Can't hardly wait until we get to see what you have to show us from Laos next. Thank you so much.

I appreciate it, Tzipporah! It was a nice refreshing experience to cap off a really wonderful time in Thailand. I've been to Laos once before, before I began vlogging, and know it's wonderful, too.

    Hi Ron please answer
    1. From where did you booked bamboo rafting
    2. Does it include elephant sanctuary ?

Hi! I booked through Get Your Guide and it included the bamboo rafting followed by a hike to a waterfall where simple lunch was provided and (hiking forward) to the elephant sanctuary and then return to Chiang Mai. Including the transportation time it was pretty much an all-day experience.
