    Kallie have you tried the hanger trick with closets? When you do a spring clean and put your clothes away put the hangers in backwards so they are awkward coming out. Then after you wear/ launder the clothes put them back on the hanger the right way. Then the next season you can see what you didn’t wear and purge it.

      YES! This works beautifully and helped me get rid of many clothes I never wore.

    A couple of years ago I decided, the beginning of each new year I would make a list of what I or the house"needed " for that year. For example I needed new PJ's so I waited and only bought those that year. The next year I needed a new pair of shoes so that is what I bought. For the home, we NEEDED a new clock...it went on the list and when I finally found one I liked I bought it without the guilt and knew exactly where it would go. It has helped tremendously on what is really needed and what is wanted. In the last 5 years the only thing I bought that was not on the NEED list was a 70 dollar steam mop (which I now think is a need).

      I hate shopping and that is just how I operate. Oh no, these jeans have a hole in them and now I only have two pairs left. I have to go to the store or try to find the same ones online. Ugh. My one pair of sneakers is actually falling apart. Better find a pair I can live with. My clutter is all the other stuff - mostly kids’ stuff really.

    Good afternoon. We look at expiration dates on our meds & can goods. We write the expiration dates in large print on each item with a permanent marker. Then we store them according to date so we can avoid having to throw out expired food. It's helped us greatly. Thanks for your videos.

      I do the same thing. Plus, I add #/dose. For example, the cap will read “2/day exp 3/23” or, if it’s 2 pills/dose, I’ll note that. This works for those of us who can’t read the microscopic directions on the bottles (just about everyone!).

    Hi Kallie tyvm for this video of yours about clutter. During this video of yours I listened and got to work putting up items or getting rid of items I don't need anymore. My home looks 100 percent better. Tyvm for sharing this video of yours. Two flat surfaces in my home that I tend to clutter up is one my dining room table and the second one is my couch in my living room. I need to be more mindful of these 2 areas so I keep the clutter level down in my home. Again tyvm for sharing your video. I am saving this video of yours for further reference

    Oh that flat surface syndrome!!!! My peninsula in the kitchen is always missing in action. Was just working on that today. I want to find it and keep it found. One problem for me is that I do not have an entryway at all and so my purse and bag go right on that countertop. I need to find another place for them as they just breed more!

    The two Cs for me! Clothes and cords drive me nuts! Been trying to get the Mr. to get rid of things he doesn't EVER wear and he won't! How can I get him to start doing this? We've covered most of the cords that show but still have more to hide...I've also incorporated a lazy Susan in my medicine cabinet in the kitchen. It helps so much and it's actually stayed organized for the most part...definitely makes it easier to keep track of what you have and the expiration dates! Thanks for the great tips!

    I just put a skinny but full sized garbage can right by my front door to stop me from putting mail I don't need on a flat surface or not breaking down my boxes. I love it so much. I was able to find one that fit perfectly between my couch and the wall right next to the door.

      @@HeronCoyote1234 I have to walk through three rooms to do that, and with my ADHD, there are way too many obstacles in the way of me actually getting there and not leaving junk mail strewn all over my house.

      I have my mailbox on the walk up length of the garage. So it's covered. And I have a table there that has a an outdoor table that has a galvanized top so it rest naturally. Very trendy I got it eight years ago. And plants go on that. So when I open up my mailbox, whatever that shouldn't go inside is put in a trashcan right on the inside of the side entrance garage door. And like you..Don't bring it in the door. Now if I could just not bring in the tax bill or the electric bill ha ha. Sorry about that. But it helps. But that's the least of my decluttering problems but one step at a time. Depression seems to be the one thing that I need to declutter from my , brain and soul. but that's a different TED talk or whatever. Ha ha.

    Wherever possible, learn from the local retailer. New things and things you've just used on one side, over time you should find that the things you're not using will magically end up on the other side. Most of those things can be disposed of as you're not using them. This works better with things being stored vertically than horizontally, but it still works for horizontal things, it just makes it a lot more effort to get to the things at the bottom. This can be great if you want a lot more pressure to get rid of things.

    I can't remember if you have talked about this or not, but one way to notice if there are clothes you are NOT wearing is to hang all of your hangers "backwards" (open end facing out instead of to the back) and then, when you wear something, hang it the traditional way. If it's in season (& not "special") and 1, 2, 3+ months go by and the hanger is still flipped.... you aren't wearing it.

    i cant ever have an organised space cause my family treats my room as a storage room for EVERYTHING, it looks like a warehouse, its like that because im only living there part time in the year but it doesnt help the mental health, so if you have that, a tip of mine is to just tidy and declutter YOUR stuff and hide the other stuff with huge boxes to make it look more uniform. its not perfect, but its better than seeing all the clutter

    About cardboard boxes, doesn't the US have curb side recycling collections? Here in the UK we have recycling bins (for cardboard, plastic glass etc) that are then emptied fortnightly by the bin trucks. Same way as regular rubbish is. Or does it depend on what state you live in?

    • @shellc3509
      @shellc3509 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes US does have curb side recycling however it Depends on the city you live in if available. Some smaller cities you have to transport to recycling center and sort yourself into large bins. (I did this for years ) So nice to have curb side recycling now! (Btw - She commented on another post that their dump has recycling section)

    where do you find a public dump that lets you unload boxes, other trash?

  • @gailremp8389
    @gailremp8389 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Some boxes are great for cat scratching. But for the most part it's best to break them down and get them out of there. You can let the cats go on the porch and look at the squirrels and jump around in a box for a while. But I found the easiest thing with the cats if anybody else has them in bills I need to buy special scratching posts and stuff is to do the following you can go into the store and get box lids. Cats love box lids. It's the thrill of the hunt. Truly

      I need to get in the habit of reading the description boxes before watching the videos.. TH-camrs never disclose sponsorships in the titles and they should. I would have skipped this one.

      I love her personality but overall getting SO tired of the random sponsorships all over you tube. What does medicine have to do with a channel about organization and productivity? I understand a need to make money and am at least understanding when a product is relevant to the channel.

    Thanks for the very helpful video! It's a work in progress on my end - mostly with my wardrobe! Anyway, I don't know if this will help you, but I know that I have helped many people where many other practitioners have failed because of the Hesch Method. It got me out of pain. See if you can find a Hesch Method Practitioner. We are rare but I also hope many more bodyworkers will take up this treatment. Look at Jerry Hesch videos on TH-cam, He has lots of videos on treating neck pain...which is related to hip and low back pain and foot pain etc... Sometimes you can figure out your own problems by watching his videos. Wishing you the best!

    • @lisafraser2313
      @lisafraser2313 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my area, they will only pickup what fits in our blue cart on alternate weeks. Those larger boxes like Kallie loaded into her car would not fit in my cart along with all the recyclables we already have (milk cartons, cereal boxes, cans etc)

    • @LC05
      @LC05 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of places don't have recycle and trash pickup. I grew up in a town where this wasn't an option growing up and still isn't to this day. You have to take your trash and recycles to the dump yourself.
