Top job Sandy , I bought one of these last year off Ebay, paid 12 quid , top tip for the snap ring is a jubilee clip on it then when the joint comes upto it , it slides on and pushes the jubilee clip down the shaft , then undo the jubilee clip , sorted 👍👍👍
Like that puller tool lads also the lower control arm puller, very handy, don’t usually replace the cv joint here, it’s cheaper just to get a complete reman axle assembly, when I have had to take them apart I use STP oil additive to lubricate the snap rings for reassembly. They pop together real easy.
It’s a local joke referring to the good folk of Glasgow, we call it a ‘Glesgae Hammer’ really any tool such as a screwdriver, chisel they use as a hammer😁
Seems a canny tool alright definitely worth £18. One of my least favourite jobs cv joints and gaiters especially if the gaiter has split and there’s cv grease everywhere 😢
