  • Daria Pająk got off to a promising start on the PWBA tour, earning the rookie of the year award, winning her first title in 2017, and finishing runner up in a few PWBA shows.
    However, she has yet to claim another PWBA title, but it does feel like more wins are on the horizon. So in this video we look back at her PWBA win and discuss whether she can win again on the pro tour.

    I'm a big bowling fan and would love to see more of the ladies tour being covered. As for Daria, I think the past years has been physical with her elbow injury, but now I think it's mental. She just needs to make a couple of shows to build up her confidence

    To me, Daria reminds me a bit of 2000’s Ryan Shafer. Incredibly talented bowler, extremely consistent, and then you look at their number of titles and think “How?”. Hopefully she can get back to victory circle!

    I really liked this video as I've been watching more PWBA videos than PBA. I think you should do more as I believe PWBA can be, in my opinion, more about how to fundamentally bowl well! Bowling is one of a very few sports where women can take men on head to head and just dominate the men!

    • @BornIn1500
      @BornIn1500 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      but they really don't dominate the men. They can bowl on the PBA, but they aren't competitive at all. One female won one title years ago and that was it.

    She reminds me of how Michelle Feldman and Tammy Turner could really get on the ball back in their respective eras. Now Daria had an injury to her elbow which set her back for a while. I'd say for her that she needs to improve spareshooting and also learn to become a bit more versatile. Players like EJ Tackett and Kyle Troup have learned to do this on the men's side and have become more successful because of it in recent years. No doubt Daria has a ton of talent and she can improve.

    Never doubt daria can win again. She's determined to win and she will win again. I'm her #1 fan and she throws such a beautiful shot. I don't like negative comments about daria she has worked so hard on her game. If you will remember norm duke won his first title and didn't win again for 8 years. Then norm tore them up after that with 39 titles. Its a tough life the travel and everything going on. You hope you can get matched up in practice. But don't worry Darla will win. She's a sweetheart and I think she's awesome. As a person and as a bowker.

    She needs to simplify her game more like Cote. Big hooks look great but you end up leaving way too many splits and difficult spares. She needs to keep the ball more in front of her and control the pocket leaving simpler spares.

    As I am a great fan of Daria, I enjoyed your video and agree, she should have won more, and aside from the elbow, I believe it's her confidence. I was going to give more of my opinion as to what could be holding her back, but realized that I'm just a backseat driver, she's the pro, and I'm sure she gets expert advice from people at the Kegel Training Centre, as does Verity Crawley. I wish her well and hopefully she begins to win more tournaments, but win or not, she is #1 in my top five.

    She needs to match up to most conditions they face by balling down. She has too much power and has to overhook the ball to keep it in play. She doesn't keep the ball in front of her on most patterns. Her misses result in big count splits or spares. She would do better on the men's tour. To a point.

    • @nothumbbowler1802
      @nothumbbowler1802 ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes sense.
      When I bowl in tournaments, I know pretty quickly the lanes are going to transition and then I may have a chance to use my rev rate to my advantage.
      But in sport shot league, there are just too few bowlers, most of who are low rev, and too few games to break the lanes down. I pretty much have to ball down and play outside line, and just control the pocket.

    • @machinethesun9243
      @machinethesun9243 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have thought the same thing. I wonder how she would do on their patterns compared to the women's. Looks like in this game she has less axis rotation but she's not keeping it in front of her. I can think of a few powerful men players that had to work their way through what's she's going through. EJ and Troup come to mind,

    I am a big fan of Daria, but her issues seem to be that when she misses she leaves ugly spares, and she is not the greatest spare shooters. When she is locked in she is dominanting, but she just gives too many pins away on bad shots. It is easy for her to turn a 240 into a 205. I hope she gets over the hump, as she and Verity are my favorites and they both have the type of game that should be dominant.

    Daria has as much a chance of winning as any other top bowler. She is GREAT! What does it take to win?
    Writing as a former international competitor in three different sports (over fifty years) , clinical hypnotherapist, and student of several sports including tenpin, like most other folk I might reply 'many things.' But would prefer not to as arguably over the last twenty years bowling has become incredibly technical, not only with regards to analysis, but also vis a vis ball construction and several other things. Players expose themselves to more practice and long tournaments, and injuries are consequently more common. And, psychological trauma is not unusual.
    But, throughout all of this, basics remain essentially the same, Over-technical balls, ball reps. (advisors), priests' blessings, and opponent-terrifying clown suits are no substitute for confidence and technical ability.
    But not all 'advances' are contentious. Increased learning vis a vis 'the mental game' can only be welcomed as for many players such is essentially unexplored vital territory. How many players have mental game books on their bookshelves at home?
    So what is such all about? Answer, read the books. But, by way of a 'one liner,' Yes, use your conscious brain to find best line, ball pace etc. then immediately slip into your 100% glowing with confidence subconscious brain which is totally locked into ball, lane, and shot. An explosion, let alone a spectator's camera, would barely distract. Enjoy nothing but confidence, empathy, and TOTAL belief. Once locked in, your conscious brain is not consciouly needed, and will make all further adjustments without you hardly being aware of such. This switch in mind state is usually the reason why many bowlers can sign out with three strikes after a bad game.

  • @nordattack
    @nordattack ปีที่แล้ว

    The real question is: Why is she NOT winning???
    She has the highest revs and most power in her release.
    If high revs and power is what decides who wins in the modern game, as it seems to be in the men's tour, why isn't Daria just running all over the lesser powered women?

    • @machinethesun9243
      @machinethesun9243 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a handful of other women with power and revs. See Jordan Richards. One of them is a better spare shooter.

    • @SirJoelsuf1
      @SirJoelsuf1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daria has the same kind of power as about 75% of the dudes on tour. And yet she has more power than 75% of the chicks on tour. Unless she's bowling with Jordan Richard or GG Mason or any other chick who gets 400+ RPMs she won't have anything to work with. Winning on tour is just as much a game of chance as it is skill, just like poker. If you are in the right environment you can make better decisions. But if you are in the wrong environment (and Daria clearly is) you won't be as confident.
      If Daria bowled on the dudes tour (and she SHOULD; if I ever see her in person at a regional or something I WILL tell her this because she is one of my favorites) she would have probably three titles already. At least.
      Bottom line, succeeding in bowling isn't just about straight up shot making like it used to be before the late 1990s. Now, because everything is so diverse, it is about being in the right environment. It's why the best bowler in the house can drop an 800 one night then shoot a piddly 620 the next.

    • @nordattack
      @nordattack ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SirJoelsuf1 620 is not piddly in my book. I will take it any day! 😂
      But why if Daria bowls against low rev women is that a disadvantage to her but if she bowls against high rev men it is not?
      Please explain?

    • @Kawboy65
      @Kawboy65 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SirJoelsuf1 With all due respect, but to say that she would have more titles on the Men's tour when she can't beat the women is just plain silly. She'd get run over by the men.

    • @Kawboy65
      @Kawboy65 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Although she may have the highest rev rate on the ladies tour, her release is all over the place. She has been working for a long time on fitment issues to try and get a more consistent release. Combine that with poor spare shooting, not making proper lane adjustments, self doubt, and then you have a player that leaves you scratching you head as to why she isn't even winning, let alone dominating.

    Daria has become reliant on her image rather than her bowling to stay relevant. She is attractive, has a cool style, & her bowling form is more powerful looking than the average woman. She is aesthetically, the total package. I think she has used that to become successful without winning on tour, so now winning isnt vital to survival.
    Its also an easier, far less stressful existence to make appearances, bowl tourneys with your boyfriend, & make a living thru sponsorships & repping gear.
    I know she had an injury at one point, but its been long enough and she is young enough that it shouldnt be an issue any longer.
    I really think its a matter of her deciding to make winning a priority, and focusing everything on bowling. She is kind of coasting on talent IMHO, and thats why she hasnt won again....but if she is in a place where she is happy, can look herself in the mirror, and wont be filled with regret in 10 years for possibly wasting her prime....who am i to judge.
    I just believe, given the choice to practice extra hours, or spend the day doing other things she enjoys, she chooses the other thing.
