BEST Mark Roth moments on TV | PBA Bowling Rewind
Mark Roth dominated the PBA tour in the 70's. His biggest achievement during this period was winning 8 titles in a single season, a PBA record that still stands. He had an outstanding bowling career that is full of amazing moments. Therefore, picking the best isn't easy.
In this video I look at what I think are Mark Roth's best ever moments on TV.

Why bowling tournaments are a total waste of money in 2025
มุมมอง 27K12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Tournament bowling has now become unviable for the average tournament bowler. For many, it is simply a waste of money. Money that most bowlers will never get any sort of decent return on. This is not a new problem, but it is something that is becoming spreading across more and more tournaments. In this video I want to specifically talk about the problems of tournament bowling and whether it is ...
WORST Parker Bohn III moments on TV | PBA Bowling Rewind

Aside from Earl Anthony who was in a league of his own, Parker Bohn iii is arguably the next best left handed bowler of all time. He owns 35 tour titles which places him in 5th on the all time list and had an extremely long career. However, he had a number of struggles in title matches of major tournaments and could have easily won more. In this video I look at Parker Bohn's worst moments on TV...

Nice list! I would have also considered his 299s in 1975 and 1987. Both en route to titles.

Awesome compilation! I wished his 1987 Buffalo Open win would have appeared here, as he took down Parker Bohn III and Chris Warren--converting a critical 4-9 to win that one. He started with a 299 over George Branham III.

Always the greatest of greatest. He is really my bowling hero until now. But absolutely sad that with unfortunate luck since late 1980s or otherwise he should win more than 40 titles with no doubt. What is the main problem towards him with that huge difference between the late 1970s in fact?

The Right Lane, That was a fantastic upload of the Best Moments of Mark Roth. Also, All 4 of Mark Roth's Moments were the best especially the ones that included one of his 8 Victories in 1978 The Quaker State Open, His 1st Major Victory in the U.S. Open, and making the 7 10 Split in the 1980 ARC Alameda Open. Also, The Moments were dedicated to Mark Roth. Also, I am looking forward to the next best or worst Moments from the Pba and Pwba Tours. Also, You are amazing in uploading Highlights and recaps of the events from both the Pba and Pwba Tours.

Ron Williams was the first guy I thought of when this topic showed up in my feed. I remember watching him on some old king of the hill matches back in the day and wondering just how strong his forearm had to be to get a 16 pound ball from what was essentially a right angle to the ground in his "backswing" back to pretty standard form on release.

#1 -- get rid of two handed deliveries. Its not bowling. Its allows more revs on an axis that is an advantage and will eventually destroy the sport. Its already created a ton of mediocre pros who can compete with actual talented, long time pros merely due to their taking a sledgehammer to what is used to create the skill wall. #2 - get rid of reactive covers, urethane, and/or raise the hardness requirement to 80+. -- Im all for making the pros bowl again. Like forcing MLB pros to use wooden bats, when you get that level, take the equipment advantages away, and make them earn success. #3 - use oil more strategically. If you watched Snowman doubles recently, the oil pattern was put down with a spray bottle and a mop (i believe) & it had the pros trying every trick in their bag to find scores. Now THATS interesing & the kind of challenge pro bowling should be. The 2 handers advantage was limited because they couldnt just crank up the revs and blow the pins out the back of the alley. It was all skill & experience. The PBA is high on the increased participation of youth bowlers because of the novelty of guys like Kyle Troup...but its a fad, not a true interest. They need to think long term or the mens tour will eventually face the same death spiral as the womens tour currently faces. The PBA is a clown show. They recently banned all arm and wrist aides but allow two handed deliveries. That makes as much sense as banning batting gloves but allowing metal bats. I have zero confidence in the organization and believe the PBA will probably need to completely fail, so the current mind set and agendas vacate the positions of power and influence. Until that happens, there will be no real leadership or forward thinking....leaving bowling in a precarious position of dangling off the relevance and therefore an existence cliff.

Long patterns are generally easier to score on. There’s also more to difficulty than just the side to side ratio. The front to back taper is far more important. More taper = higher scoring pace. As for everyone playing outside, look at the structure of the pattern, that’s where you’re supposed to play it. The built in friction is on the 4-5-6 boards all the way down the pattern. You have a 3 inch wide friction track built into the pattern and straighter angles like that produce higher scores than open ones. Any bowler who can consistently repeat shots is going to shoot high scores. That pattern was designed to have a high scoring pace and was designed to keep players from running out of room during longer blocks.

Two handed bowling should never have been allowed in Tournament or league play. It is a crutch to gain higher ball speed, and more revs. Modern bowling balls already made bowling more forgiving, and two hands on the ball excacerbates the issue. Going back to single hand stroke, might force more people to learn consistency and adaptibility again. I believe that alone will drop overall scoring.
