Blonde Highlights Gone Wrong - Major Color Correction 😱 How to Fix Spotty Hair Color

  • Color Corrections can be scary especially when there are bleed marks everywhere and the hair isn't in the best condition 👎
    I wanted to share this video of one of my previous clients who went to a friend to do her hair after I stopped taking clients. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out and I knew I wanted to fix it to help bring her hair back to a natural state and to create a video for you guys in case you ever have a client in a similar situation.
    Make sure to check out my other video: How to Set Yourself up for Success with Color Corrections - • Color Corrections | Se...
    P.s. I never put other stylists down because we have all been there at some point in our career. So my goal of this video isn't to put the other stylist down. In fact, the other stylist knew she had made some mistakes and was actually at the salon with my client while I fixed her hair so she could learn what not to do next time.
    I really wanted to create this video to help stylists know what to do if a client walked in with this situation, but please don't ever put another stylist down no matter what your client walks in with 💓

    I'm fixing a spotty job that was my own fault today, and I am freaking out. She was kind enough to agree to come in and let me fix it, and I don't want to disappoint her. Being a young and relatively new stylist is so scary and stressful.

    • @kearabevels4590
      @kearabevels4590 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm fairly new myself . I did a highlight and lowlights service on a client. She said she wanted her hair kinda like cruelly deville...... but I feel like I didn't do a good job. I mean she never came back to show me how it turned out, for she walked out while her hair was processing the toner 😭

    SO nice to hear someone who is so talented remember that we all start some where and starting out as stylist not forgetting that we all have made mistakes. It really helps make things more realistic to show what and who you can be instead of discouraging younger stylist who are still learning their niche.

Makes you remember the little things that become so unimportant overtime but really make a difference! I love the double foil technique. So simple yet so effective and I will absolutely be using this in the future. Also love to see someone using Goldwell. That's what my salon carries and I don't see it used a lot on social media or in videos!

      Same thing for me in London. I paid a fortune. He made a disaster on me. I had more orange than the woman on the video. I don't trust the hair stylist anymore. I fixed myself. I washed hardly 5 times the color away. Then I bleached again some orange parts. Then I applied 2 toners. Orange is now hidden. Color is so much better. I look a lot better. But I lost so much money... Thanks for the video. It's nice to see that some hair stylists are definitely competent.

    New subscriber here, so happy to have found your channel!Way to stay classy and not trash the one who messed up. Coloring hair isn't nearly as easy as it looks!! And you can have all the "knowledge" but the execution is something else entirely!! It takes lots experience and practice to develop your techniques and skill. Everyone has to start somewhere, cosmetology schools don't pop out experts. Only time brings expertise. I love how you are always so understanding, and use these color corrections as an opportunity to teach and not an excuse to talk down to or bash newbies and diy'ers. I think you are an excellent teacher and very much appreciate you sharing your knowledge without charging for it. You should totally start your own school, I would sign up in a heartbeat!!! ❤

    Just beautiful work! Love it! I also agree with some of the other comments. I’ve been in this business 30 years and always love learning from other hairdressers who are passionate, yet classy when it comes to color corrections from other hairdressers and stylists. Anything can happen l anyone! Be kind and learn from one another! You’re amazing!

    I'm late seeing this but HAVE to comment! What a huge character you have, human you are to speak without harsh judging and without that typical OMG response TOWARD THE STYLIST THAT DID THE MISTAKE!!!! You are a gem of a human being, an example to stylists and to humanity on how to be that one that dares to be different. Stylists can be worse judges of each other than the clients ever are. Oh my heart! What a breath of fresh air and encouraging words!

    I’m mind blown at how much you’re able to lift and move your foils around without having any slipping/bleeding. I try so hard not to move my foils so they won’t slip. Is there a certain technique I’m missing?

    • @JamieDana
      @JamieDana  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The more you practice, the more your foils will stay put! It's about the amount of product you are using and how you are locking them in. You'll get it!

    I can't believe I just found you! I'm really picky about hairstylists I follow because I like them to be concise and to the point and actually show me everything they're doing. And I learned a new trick!! The little foil on top to tackle the longer root/lowlight is super helpful! I usually just move the highlighted parts out of the way after touching the root

    I am not a hairdresser, but I do have a legit question with respect to being someone who gets highlighting and color done. I understand that stuff like that happens, but how does a hairdresser let the client leave with a botched job? It's blatantly obvious that this was not a satisfactory job.

    • @Jesscention
      @Jesscention 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have made a mistake like this before, my client seemed very rushed to get home the whole time I was doing her hair, so I told her to please come back ASAP. and I found it so odd she never came back for her appointment a few days later. I felt really guilty and was excited to fix my mistake for her, so I hated that she didn't show. Seems like people usually are over being at the salon and would rather get it fixed another day. I'd much rather fix it right away, though.
