I was just thinking of you when they showed all the mineralized formations. I was thinking: _"If Jeff Williams were here, he would be telling us about what all these colored rocks are and what it means..."_ Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you have better sense than being down this deep in these "mole tunnels"! ;)

8:10 Sensation Cigarettes were made by Lorillard Tobacco Company. The company was founded by Pierre Abraham Lorillard, 1760 in New York, British America. In 1899 American Tobacco Company started a corporation in New Jersey called Continental Tobacco Company. They bought up a lot of small tobacco companies and owned the controlling interest in Lorillard Tobacco Company. The chief cigarette brands of Lorillard Tobacco Company were Old Gold, introduced in 1926, and Kent in 1952. The Sensation brand name was first registered February 1939 and was produced in New Jersey. As far as I can tell the Sensation brand was only sold till 1941. Loews Corporation acquired Lorillard Tobacco Company in 1968. In 2014 it was bought by Reynolds American, which is part of British American Tobacco.

33:10 Sanforized basically means it is pre-shrunk. Sanforization is a treatment process of stretching and shrinking cotton fabric and textiles to fix the length and width before cutting. The process was patented by Sanford Lockwood Cluett in 1930.

A bit of trivia on the Calumet Baking powder can and the Wright family Wright sold Calumet to General Foods in 1929. So if your can find says General foods, it is post '29. Wm. Wright owned Calumet farms in Lexington , KY Perhaps one of the greatest thoroughbred breeding stables in the US ever. Whirlaway the 1941 Triple Crown winner and others before and after. (They make bourbon also now) . The Wright /Markey family used to own a racing season 'cottage' here in Saratoga Springs, NY . At an estate auction some years back I bought one of Whirlaway's shoe's from the Preakness at the sale.

Glad to see you back in action, Justin. This mine is fascinating, I'm glad you're continuing its exploration. It seems insane to have so much ground removed from under a town, such a maze (and a 3D one at that) with, incredibly, still untouched areas right under a town. I wonder if enough is removed to create a perceptible gravitational anomaly for sensors to detect. As usual I always read the description first and am never disappointed. :)

    🇬🇧 This is amazing .. !
As a long time amateur mineralogy
Fanatic, I'd give my eye teeth to be down there searching through all the rock & stones
I've been down some British mines
Mainly Coal but other much older mines from 500yrs ago.
I've found some amazing fossils too.
Brilliant stones & minerals but only took some small samples to test.
I noticed in the last episode you found a tin of what once contained Baking Powder.
Well, I've heard from old miners from Australia that they used to make Damper Bread, down in the mine, for fresh warm bread.
It's like Soda Bread & onion was sometimes added, only flour & some lard was needed & baking powder.
The bread was cooked on a metal plate or shovel over a small ember fire
I've actually tasted this Damper Bread + it's pretty good! At least I enjoyed it.
I'm sure the hard grafting miners appreciated it on break time.
Talking of Beer, a good splash of beer in your Damper Bread mix made it even better!
Id be in heaven down here, with all these rocks & minerals, also the geological striations in the rock walls & ceilings!
Thank you for an excellent video
    Peace, Good Cheer & Safety.
    🇬🇧🙆

I am sure you have heard this before, but it would be great if you could team up with Brent at Cerro Gordo to explore the mines around there.

7:07 the Calumet tin is post-1929 because it says 'division of general foods', and it's pre-1939 because the Good Housekeeping seal says 'tested and approved', as 1939 was when the government (FTC) sued Good Housekeeping over and had those words and the 'bureau' text removed from the seal. So there's a ten year window for you.

Thanks Justin good stuff. You commented on the mine being hot much like Arizona it’s a dry heat. When I was in school in Utah old timers told stories of working underground in Park City in the Treasure King and Mayflower mines which drifted through thermally active areas of the Wasatch mountains the ribs of the mine would be in the 90s pouring water men worked shifts in sauna like conditions. My grandfather worked there as a young man when everything was steam power and a good friend died in one of the mines in 1978. You help keep those stories and memories alive.
