Really chuckled, Jack wants to spend more time with the family and just happens to forget a pump part he needs at home.. Great to see Jasmine and girls helping out. I'm in Canada easily figured out what a rooted pump was, much better term than "its just fcked"
I thank you for your input on the mini starlink . I am really thinking investing in one when I go out into the bush where I do not have internet connection. Plus I can turn it off when I don't require to use it Bloody awesome work. 😊
in Australian slang, the term 'Rooted' also means exhausted, fatigued or tired, as in. " I'm rooted.. " or, " you look absolutely rooted.. ". Same with buggered, fcked, knackered or stuffed !
Correct Jack, Comms in this country is Rooted, Albo & black out Bowen are slowly rooting the country as well. How's that not too much grey area in that!🥵🥵😁 But tomorrows another day. Cheers keep smiling.
❤❤❤Good job Thanks for the clear explanation of Starlink. Communications have certainly come along way over the decades makes life so much easy when working remotely 👍👍👍👍👍no longer a note stuck on a tree.😂😂😂😂
been watching you guys for a long time now. i am a well driller and pump guy, and you need to put a well seal on top of your pvc casing with the drop pipe drop though it to keep the crap out. from nova scotia.
It's just Chuckers Mate with Roots ,A lot of us Yanks watch Australian videos , Drain addict ,Mark and Sam ,the penetrater , and of course Jack out back , and who can deny Workshop Wednesday at the Australian armory watching them build tanks and other vehicles of WWII . I really enjoy these videos from down under pretty familiar with your slang terms ,I enjoy it all . Chuckers ,Rooted same difference ,Kaput ,very German I get it .
From Southern California, USA. To root, rooting, rooted, etc. can have a number of meanings here and is/are used in several different contexts, none of which refer to something being broken.
Hi, guys, always makes me laugh when I hear Americans saying they are rooting for you rooted , is a lot different than the Americans understand. Anyway keep up the good work guys jasmines died her hair she looks good in actual fact your whole of the family looks fantastic. Lots of appreciation and love Cliff from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 without farmers, Australia is rooted LOL
I got the term "perished" but "rooted" is a new one for me ,,,,,,,, Then at 25 minutes or so into the video it all makes perfect sense ,,,, although I have never heard of a pump at the bottom of an 80 foot well getting rooted or root bound like that so it's new
Aussies are generally more accommodating to foreigners when it comes to explaining our slang. I’ve noticed this when watching videos particularly from the US. I thought we butchered the English language but I reckon the yanks take the prize for that.
IMO from an Ol Baby Boomer Aussie, Fckd and Rooted are one in the same. As a young bloke you used to go out looking for a Root, ah La A Fck. And after you got one or had one you would be pretty worn out, Exhausted or Kaput./ Not working or doing anything of any use. Capishe 😉 Trust Jasmine to raise the issue. She is a little legend that woman.😘
so you'd go out on a Sat night looking for a half- decent root & wake up at 5am the next morning absolutely rooted, regardless of whether you found a root or not ??
"Rooted" is also a specific computer systems administration term, meaning that an attack on a system has compromised the root or administrator account. A rooted system is thus one that you cannot really trust and as such needs replacing forthwith, preferably after you've worked out how the attackers got in (or at least you pull the affected system's disk out then rebuild the machine and re-image it).
For those that cant speak Australian slang, the other way of saying "rooted" is Kangaroo Edward ie Kangaroo = roo, Edward = Ted, rooted Cockney slang from England.
@Jack At The Back Can I humbly ask if u can put in as much aviation in these vids I see bush planes n sometimes heli work. I really geek out on it. Thanks 😅
Hey Jack. I enjoyed your Sunday family out! I truly appreciate that you’re a clever and smart young man with great experience and the benefit of learnings from your Dad and others in your life… I’d like to propose some advice borne from my 50yrs, design and fabrication apprenticeship :) A ‘field’ repair kit… keep tools separate from the ‘repair’ hardware. Make a checklist on the kit (Bunnings is a long, long way away). Vital infrastructure: Solar Panel / Pump controller / Camera mast stations etc, etc - Require purpose made animal barriers and robust cable / conduit protection. Simple preventative measure$ across (your) known critical failure points will cost less than a drum of Plane fuel… Not biting down on you! In my company we worked towards the mantra of ‘do it once, but do it 110%’. Saves having to go back endlessly to fix ‘rooted’ stuff twice, thrice, etc… Old man’s rant over ;) Oh yeah and wots up with Danny, have I missed something? Hope he’s good and happy!! Best!
In U.K the term rooted or something being rooted is well understood to mean fucked. Whether that means beyond repair or it means getting rooted on a night out scenario, either through alcohol or the beast with two backs rooted it's very versatile word.
Hi Jack. Brad from Kansas, when I saw you shooting camels I was hooked. I’m the ballistic manager for the Swift bullet co. It’s almost painful to watch you using your pump rifles! AR rifles are as popular as trucks here. We’re very lucky here in the US when it comes to firearms. Thank god we got Trump back in! Love your channel!
Great video, those girls are growing up fast, there a credit to you both . I was amazed at the teeth on that camel skull, wow they look like a dinosaur
I'm guessing not a SPAM tin...they are aluminium, at least they are here in Canada. Probably wasn't a moose or beaver that ripped up the tree either...lol.
Never heard it until now, but it sounds like something you would use to describe all broken items due to the actual problem of root filled pipes in the sewer system?
So here in the UK, you might say , we were rooting last night or I gave her a good rooting, 😅😂 but you wouldn't refer to an item or thing being rooted, would have gone straight over my head to be honest
@jack_out_the_back you can get it from most farm suppliers as a blue power ( i have used ) mix in a bucket and tip it down ( with pump pulled out ) then flush and airlift or let it run to waste tho with your feral animal issue i would airlift less time for water to lay around
Hi..Just interested in the use of black water tanks and the heating of the water ...where as white tanks cooler ...or is a situation of take what ever you can get with the tanks ..
We've only purchased white tanks (which are cooler, and easier to see when we fly) The black and green tanks were here when we purchased the property. The water gets ridiculously hot in them.
UK it's rooted would only mean a plant or tree has taken root but I did get your drift even though visually it was covered in roots sort of an anti oxymoron, am sure some grad in English will find the correct term, love the videos great education but couldn't live out there too many f'in flies.
Jack, Tell your sheila this yank did not no the Australian term for rooted meant knackered, kaput, screwed up, junk to us rooted means really attached to one spot.. It the British and a few of the irish I really have trouble understanding. They even have to repeat everything twice to each other before they can understand it. But we can see you got to the root of the problem.
Your Wife Unit "Jasmine" is right Jack, we Aussies understand "Its Rooted" , wonder how other counties perceive the Title ?, Mrs Jack "Jasmine" out the back i corrected my grammar becuase I know you are a teacher, but I probably still failed, Did you notice in perceive i corrected to I before E except after C ?..... That snapped tree with the found tin can, ITS "Rooted". Rooted can also be Knacked, stuffed, clagged, had it, its F##ked
Hells Bells Jack... I can forgive the "apprentice" bore mechanic for sitting on the workbench alongside the tools, and even for being a little terce with the communications, and yes... even for wearing croc's to work, but can you tell her to wear a bloody hat. No sense in looking like a dried prune when she's 80.
Jasmine seems very keen to explain it to everyone so I'm going to feign ignorance as to not ruin her moment
Thank you! Rooted Jasmine’s face and explanation made my day! Here in Oregon I’ve never heard of it. But going to try and use it now!…LOL 👍🏽😊❤️🇺🇸
Really chuckled, Jack wants to spend more time with the family and just happens to forget a pump part he needs at home.. Great to see Jasmine and girls helping out. I'm in Canada easily figured out what a rooted pump was, much better term than "its just fcked"
Rooted is Rooted however this was propper Rooted.
And what a way to be all romantic with the wife, pulling a rooted pump.
cheers Butch.

Also exactly the same words as used by us Kiwi cuzzies across the ditch in New Zealand! 🤣
R.S. meaning Rat-Shit is another one
Yes we call it root bound where I am from, mostly drain pipe for a sewer line. Good to see Jasmine and the girls. Great video
The banter is lovely guys keep it up, good to see some quailty hubby and wife time fixing that pump lol. FYI the girls are 1000% cute.
Correct Jack, Comms in this country is Rooted, Albo & black out Bowen are slowly rooting the country as well. How's that not too much grey area in that!🥵🥵😁 But tomorrows another day. Cheers keep smiling.

Another excellent video. You are one smart cookie Jack. You really are a master of all trades. 💯👍
California here! I'm going to start using Rooted!
To be honest I thought (pigs) (actual roots) and third was just screwed up or broke
Coming from Tennessee/USA my first thought was covered/blocked by roots. Screwed makes more sense to me.
It's just Chuckers Mate with Roots ,A lot of us Yanks watch Australian videos , Drain addict ,Mark and Sam ,the penetrater , and of course Jack out back , and who can deny Workshop Wednesday

Enjoyed the episode Jack. In regards to rooted we also term is as Kangaroo Edward which when abbreviated shortens to Roo Ted.
Great family day out 😊
great job Jack another informative video of Farm problem solving 👌
Thank you for the star link info...and rooted ...self explanatory "rooted"
Be proud of your family.
It’s great to see the family is involved in the operation of the farm and the repairs

As an American viewer with friends in Oz, I instantly got the context.
Ahhh, the old - get the wife to bring the kids out on a country ride to visit working dad - ploy....hehehe. That looks like a well pump pick-a-nic :-)
Thanks for the tours.
👍👍😎🇦🇺
I'm from Texas and I understand you perfectly😂😊

@wilson2455 Yep.thats about right except for the waking up part. Usually they were all nighters.😉
@@gerrydempsey4443 an all-nighter?? Who'd you hookup with, Bonnie Blue ?

and dont forget to air lift and flush your bores every few years to maintain good water flow and keep screens clean
Good family time comms makes for a strong partnership . New York house not yet fully equipped , end of January will be more likely the meeting time !

Rooted, Buggered, knackered, stuffed, munted, wrecked, screwed, broken
shagged
that's the answer Jack, "I just wanted your company Jasmine"..
I can see the future. A package arrives. What is in the package. Oh wait. It's a complementary leatherman.
I'm guessing not a SPAM tin...they are aluminium, at least they are here in Canada. Probably wasn't a moose or beaver that ripped up the tree either...lol.
Rooted a first for here Costa Rica 🇨🇷
❤❤❤Good job your repairs worth a slab 😂😂😂😂😂😂
yes get it as well here in nz carput
Never heard of the term 'rooted', my faves are 'busted' and 'brasted' UK North :)
If your cattle are chewing at your wiring add copper chelate to the water, they won't touch your wiring again.
Never heard it until now, but it sounds like something you would use to describe all broken items due to the actual problem of root filled pipes in the sewer system?
yanks root for their team
In US we say it’s “Toast”

betting if a camera is bricked it is basically fck? Love the terms, thanks so much for taking the time to post. I watch them all, some multiple times.
So 'rooted' (not used much in my part of Canada) is much the same as 'pooched' then.
Cheers
What's happened Danny? I haven't seen him in any recently video's
Jack how far is the pump down the hole
copper sulfate will get rid of the roots down hole mate
Drop a block down the hole?

Hey Jack, i have previously asked about your limp. Anything to do about it as you get older? I speak from experience, not scarying you🤣cheers bro
I did my knee a couple of years ago, falling and got my leg caught in the a frame of a truck dolly.
Was not fun!
@@jack_out_the_back i remember you saying. not great and those injuries come back to haunt you later. I have that now.cheers
Came in thinking it was full of roots somehow

Pukarooed. The slang puckerooed originated from the late 19th century Māori word pakaru which means broken.
We used to call people that were slow at work as Rooted like a tree and couldn’t move. Same as lazy?!
Never heard of that saying “rooted” meaning buggered/ US/ fucked/ broken. 👍🏴

The origins of the word 😂
Don't worry about the yanks for christ sake. Bitta rain on it's way
How about 'Cactus-Fuctus' instead of 'Rooted'. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great add for Starlink. Hope Elon sees this and gives you a reward.🤣🤣🤣
We veterans know a lot of people that need "Rooting"
Hey mate, could help but notice you wanting to spend some time with your beloved wife was a little one sided 🤣
Aliens! took out your tree
Il bet rooted comes from the old english word for rotten.
Colloquialism is the intellectual term IIRC. "Rooted" is an Australian colloquialism.
South Africans would not understand rooted to mean broken.
It’s stuffed it’s bugged these are other words
Hey Jack is Stuffed
or as my mother taught me “don’t be common John, its not working properly"
Understood in the UK . Could be pregnant 🤣
