I agree. We get tons of the Hatch chiles from our neighbors in New Mexico here in Texas. Some of our grocery stores even roast them for you outside in the parking lot in specially made propane roasters. In particular here in the Texas Coastal Bend the better HEB grocery stores do this. Also all of those Central Market products are made by/for HEB. The Central Markets are the ultra gourmet HEB grocery stores. They are kinda like Whole Foods in their concept but a million times better!!

I'm from Albuquerque NM and yes Hatch Green Chile is a real cultural thing here. It's our own variety of (I think) Anaheim pepper. Irish people have potatoes, New Mexicans have hatch green chile. We put it in just about everything. The best part about it though is smell of it being roasted in autumn. For us, it's damn near orgasmic. I feel I need to apologize on behalf of New Mexico that this was your first taste of green chile. New Mexicans are very serious about our chile and buy it in bulk. I personally have about 100 pounds of roasted green chile in my deep freezer and yes, we do put it on everything. A frozen custard chain here even specializes in a Green Chile sundae.

From the end of Summer through November the Hatch Green Chili’s are picked and roasted. They can be spicy but have a wonderful Smokey flavor after they’re roasted. Hatch, New Mexico is a small town of around 1,600 people but they produce some of the best Chili’s in the world
TRY should have checked the history books. Hatch Green Chiles are grown exclusively in Hatch, NM, USA. All others are just green colored chiles. Love you TRY!

"Central Market" is an offshoot of the HEB grocery-store chain here in Texas, BTW. They're basically HEB's answer to Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe's, in that they carry a lot of upscale gourmet and imported items, a wider variety of produce, bulk spices, and so forth. Their house-branded products (like these) were initially only available at the actual Central Market locations, but in the last few years they've been carrying them at many of the "regular" HEB stores as well. Unfortunately for the majority of your viewers, the chain exists *only* in Texas, and in certain parts of Mexico, so if you want to get your hands on any of these products, you'll have to come visit the Lone Star State to get them. :-)
I married a Texan but we live in Washington state. And I hit up the central market by my in-laws house in San Antonio everytime we visit and bring home a suitcase full of stuff 😂😂😂

Even in Arizona during hatch season you can purchase fresh roasted chiles by the pound. Usually, these are roasted in the parking lots of certain grocers, right by the front entrances. What a fantastic aroma! I love to add them to my scrambled eggs. They also make wonderful molcajete salsa!
Lads and Lasses...Hatch fresh green Chiles make the best stuffed peppers. Just cook ground beef with some Mexican style rice, stuff the peppers and bake. You can dress with red chile sauce and cheese before baking if you desire. Also check out the New Mexico USA Hatch Chile Festival.
Being from NM I am super happy with this one :) We put Green Chile in EVERYTHING! We stock up roasted chile every fall and have a chest freezer of it for the rest of the year. And it's named Hatch Chile because that is the name of the town where a lot of Green Chile is grown.

You guys got the over processed stuff. Fresh Hatch is so amazing! Born and raised New Mexican here and it is indeed the pumpkin spice of the southwest. We even have Hatch chile beer made here in Pagosa springs colorado.

Hatch Green Chiles are a pretty big deal here in southwest Colorado (being just north of New Mexico) they roast and sell them in the parking lot of the Walmart here...smells incredible.
As a New Mexican I can tell you. southwest Colorado is the only place I've found real Hatch in the state. Although the Durango diner uses Pueblo chilli's sometimes and it's not bad at all.

A majority of the time it says it's "Hatch" but really the only time you can be promised it's truly hatch is in New Mexico.

I'm from NM and hatch chili is part of our heritage...cuz of chili we actually have a State question, "Red or Green?" Which refers to what type of chili you want with your food. Chili for b-fast, lunch and dinner. Man I miss home (live in UAE now) lol

Hatch Green Chiles are a pretty big deal here in southwest Colorado (being just north of New Mexico) they roast and sell them in the parking lot of the Walmart here...smells incredible.
As a New Mexican I can tell you. southwest Colorado is the only place I've found real Hatch in the state. Although the Durango diner uses Pueblo chilli's sometimes and it's not bad at all.

actually paddy putting chocolate into chile with beans is a thing and you know that bar would complement the flavors nicely. all you need is a pint of beer.
Lived in New Mexico and now Arizona and I put Hatch green chiles on everything. Chocolate chip cookies, spaghetti, pizza, everything.
I’m a couple hours away from where all of these Chilis are grown in NM.
