I remember one of Grainne's first shoots, when she and Graeme choked on spicy popcorn. Really amazing how much her tolerance for spice has grown since then.

As a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago , that Moruga Scorpion should have had the tryers screaming - that pepper is hot af , very surprised, but this video is entertaining as usual 💯👍
The "mash/puree" tend to be fermented peppers, which mellows them out a bit. It's still hot, but it's definitely not as hot as just biting into one.
Also depends entirely on where (and how) they're grown. I've had some Scorpions that were just a tickle, and others that were enough to write home about. Such variety.
Was hoping there would be Chocolate Bhutlah. Such a tasty pepper.

Any scotch bonnet genetics(habanero/scorpion) are extremely tasty and incredible for the trance-high from chilis as well as being an incredible tolerance building "family".

So nice to see Anne again...were you saving her up for this? And I loved the competition between Padraig and Daragh (Will we have another bite?....Do you want to have another bite?). And Gráinne's audition for Les Mis was a delight. And let us not forget those stalwarts....Blaíthín and Paddy. You just have so many great contributors that you can actually please most of us ....most of the time.
It was so good as they were right keen on the seconds, but then the suggestion of thirdsies was met with a Gods NO.

I think the Try Channel has broken all the Tryers, even the new guys have conquered the hot sauces. Sure there was some redness and hooting, but really very mild for the scoville-levels advertised, so good on you all six of you!

These days i have a lot of sorrow, the World seems like a horryfying place sometimes. But there are a few youtube channels that keep my morale up and make me smile. The Try channel is up there with Jolly. Thank you guys

This is one I think we need an All Tryer (and producers! ) Roulette game with. Last round is everyone remaining has a 5 wing showdown with all the sauces combined and totally drenched. Will Ciara reign supreme? Who has the stomach of steel?

Why is it so funny to watch people in pain from eating spicy chilis? Padraig and Daragh are coughing almost the entire time while Grainne looked like she was conducting an orchestra (11:21) at the end 😆

Thats because he has a cork accent. The cork accent is like the black sheep of irish accents its a lot more sing song 😂

Celtic languages are so fringe for even Europeans that they sound amazingly exotic. 2500 years ago they dominated all of central and a lot of western Europe.. Now thier residual influence is in the far western corners of Europe: Galicia, Cornwall, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man.

Poor Padraig, Daragh, Bláthín and Gráinne looked like they were in pain, poor dears. I hope they had some milk or ice cream to soothe the burn of all that chili! That last sauce looked extremely spicy! Paddy handles spice so well now! Great to see Ann again 😊

Actually thats the exact opposite of what you want to do. A local hot sauce maker (who actually deals with the ultrahots) once told me dairy is only temporary relief and then it wears off so you go for more dairy and the cycle repeats till you have too much dairy and throw up.
What you want to do is drink something like a limeade, lime juice, or lemonade. It will briefly make it worse as far as pain but theres some sort of reaction between the citric acid and capsicum that makes the heat dispel faster.

The BIG secret to keeping the heat from overwhelming you is to control the spicy food in your mouth and keep it sealed off from the air you're breathing. Once you breathe with your mouth (like many do when they bite something spicy) the air passing over the taste buds somehow causes the fiery tasting chemical reaction in the mouth.
Once you bite something spicy, keep it in your mouth and fully breathe thru your nostrils without passing the inhalation over the food directly to minimize the heat. It'll still be spicy. Just not a raging inferno.
And miss out on the funny?!
Don't tell them the secrets.
That's like when people tell the secrets of a new game to the Neebs crew instead of letting them hilariously stumble through it, themselves. 😂
That technique works with hot cinnamon candies, so I believe it.
@@NarwahlGaming the funny occurs WHEN the reflex to inhale thru the mouth (to cool everything off) is not squelched and controlled.
To actively cool/survive this, you have to purposefully in advance plan to do this before putting something super spicy in your mouth.
Ciara is so bulletproof the Try channel isn’t even bothering to use her for stuff like this anymore.
When Ciara can eat whole, raw Bhutlah Scorpions straight I will be impressed, so far I am suspicious.

I think they're hitting a ceiling on the first ones where more just sustains the heat instead of burning them extra. Apparently it's an endorphin rush. Anna Kendrick on Hot Ones said it reminded her of an alcohol buzz or getting _really_ high.
And Anna also did not have any water or milk for relief. A very rare occurrence for Hot Ones.
Endorphin is exactly the concept involved.. remember they are produced as a pain mitigation measure in the body.

I've been thinking about a two-part shoot. The first part has them seasoning and smoking a brisket.
The second part has them tasting the fruits of their labors and then naming their favorite.

I'm proud the Moruga Scorpion was so well received, since it, like me, is Trinidadian. I don't eat pepper at all unless it's Pimento, mind you 😅😁😅 but I'm proud of our local product.

I feel for you ALL! I was stationed in Italy for a year. I decided to make Chili from scratch. I bought everything I needed either on the base (Quadra national) or in the local stores. When it came to the chilies, I found a pack of 5 very small chilies. Being not that up on them at the time (and no markings of heat level) I thought they were perfect. Oh BOY!! I made the chili in a crock pot and put in all 5 of the chilies! Cooked it for an entire day. Opened the lid to stir it and the paint on the wall blistered!!! 😲 Decided to put That batch on low And take the biggest pot we had in the barracks and just cook more beans hoping to cut down the heat. ( we could barely stay in the same room with the crockpot! The smell burned you’re eyes and you’re lungs with every breath.
Finally the bog pot was ready. I mixed both pots together and prayed it would cut down the heat! No such luck. This was what here in the states I will call 7 alarm chili. 5 was the hottest I ever tasted, but mine was FAR WORSE. 6 of us stayed and ate it. I warned everyone it was hotter than the hinges of a blast furnace, but one Mexican guy I was stationed with said he could eat ANYTHING HOT and it would have 0 effect on him. We all dug in. I had bread and beer at the ready, as I knew it would pass HOT by LIGHT YEARS. OH BOY was I right. It tasted FANTASTIC but about 1-2 min in EVERYONE at the table was shooting flames out of their mouth like a “Dragon”. We were ALL in excruciating PAIN. I asked if I should throw it out? I got a resounding NO it was the best chili any of us had ever had!!! BUT it was hotter than the surface of the sun.
As people returned from the chow hall, they started saying the Chile smelled WONDERFUL!!! And we gave about 20 people including a German friend that was stationed at the base with his group, and to our Italian translator. Needless to say for about 30 seconds everyone said it was the best chili they ever tasted. UNTIL the heat hit!!!!! 🥵 Let’s just say the entire barracks had had some, as well as the 2 that weren’t with us there. Everyone was on fire that entire night.
HOWEVER the next day the fateful moment arrived. We were watching a movie and they had to change the reel. 5 seconds after the movie stopped around 15 people RAN out of the room headed for the facilities. We had 3 working in one room and 5 in the other. To keep this as G rated as possible, people urgently waiting to get their turn swore they saw steam coming out of every stall. It was so bad that people were going into stalls that didn’t even function. ( we were in Italian barracks rented to us by the Italian Air Force.) 90% of us were on fire!!! Everyone that could speak just kept yelling “ Come on Ice Cream!!!” Worst day of our lives, but we did eat the entity pot!!! Taste 5 Star Heat unknown. Even the people that could eat any pepper (HOT or not) were on fire. But to this day I haven’t found ANY PEPPER HOTTER than those 5 Spanish peppers. Wish I knew what scovil rating they were. But I’ll never know. But I would LOVE to find them again just to see how HOT they really were. So you only ate a few wings. The 6 of us ate 1/2 pot crying and sniffling the entire time. But did we quit NO! We as I said ate 1/2 the pot. The rest for the most part went to anyone that showed up. I thought of this when the guy in Blue turned as red as the guy next to hims red shirt. It was Brilliant! But like I said in the beginning, I feel for you. That chili felt like 15,000,000 scovils. But the best day I ever had. Next day was the worst. It burned just as bad going in as it did coming out. 🥵🥵😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Again best day of my life. The pain was SO WORTH IT!!!
Eating should sometimes be an experience...that's why I ask the local Thai place to boost their pho (I know it's not a Thai dish, but it's the only place in town that does it) to their highest level and add more chilis and chili oil. My lips go numb, my nose runs, but the flavors are *incredible*.

Naga Chilly doesn't actually affect the stomach, the taste stays in the mouth. Trust me, I am from the Northeastern part of India, the region native to the Naga chilly. We prefer Naga chilly over here coz if we use any other regular green chilly water comes out from the bottom. Like, 6-7 green/red chilis in the curry is enough to pass water from the bottom, whereas using 2-3 Naga chilly doesn't affect the stomach, you'll feel the heat in the mouth though.
6-7 Green/Red chills for us, goes down like ball peppers, doesnt even come close to 1 Naga chilly in terms of taste. We don't even feel much at all when eating regular ones but is hell after it reaches the stomach. Naga chillis doesn't do that, you can enjoy the taste and come back for more later on again.
For eg. When we make pork we use about 20 or more green chillis made into a paste and put it in while cooking. Then, when we eat the pork with rice, we eat more Naga chili along with it.
Gods, I love you people are just dumping Padraig into the deep end right at the start. Nice to see Anne again too, great job in pushing her into the deep end without warning too! Also, watching Grainne's eye liner/mascara (?) start to smear is a riot.
