    @woodworkingwithSkyler thanks for breaking that down. I had no idea! Family have been pushing me to make videos but I don't like being the center of attention & definitely prefer doing the recording not being the recording...in your opinion how important is it for the viewer to see the person's face?
    Can you please do a playlist for this video & what your editing process is?
    What equipment and programs you use?
    Perhaps something about becoming an influencer.
    How did you get affiliates, etc.
    At the end of videos...do you get to choose the video suggestions or does the algorithm do it? How do you choose keywords?
    What channels do you like to watch? How did you get started in woodworking? Do you have any online courses or books you recommend?
    Do you flip furniture? If so can you please make videos?
    Can you please make a series for hand carving and one for wood turning?
    On an alternate note...you have pretty puppies & a lovely room!

    Very interesting video. Until now, I haven't seen anyone disclose how much money they've earned from TH-cam - both from affiliate marketing and sponsorships. Most people only talk about what TH-cam shows. What I don't understand is how you transitioned from making videos about photography to creating woodworking content. Surprisingly, even though photography usually brings in more money, you're making more from woodworking, which is a smaller niche. Very intriguing hobbies and quite different. Anyway, congratulations on what you do, and I'm genuinely amazed that you shifted from photography to working with wood. Thanks for the video.

    • @woodworkingwithSkyler
      @woodworkingwithSkyler  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you. Woodworking is a smaller niche and that’s why is doing better. There are thousands of photography channels and many of those female photographers. Everyone can have a photography channel without even owning a camera. You can take photos with your phone or download stock photos and make videos about editing software. It takes every little budget and that’s why there are so many channels out there. Woodworking in the other hand take space, tools, materials….things not everyone could afford so there are less channels competing. Then if you look at how many woodworkers are females, numbers go way down. That’s the thing with TH-cam. You never really know what will work, you just have to try things and be ready to pivot if things don’t work out

    Hello Miss Sky! Off the subject, but how about a video of things you have made that you use or display in your own home? You mentioned building a bed for your daughter in this one and got me to wondering how many projects you've made for yourself. I ask this because I have a lot of my projects that never made it from the shop to my home for one reason or another.
    Thanks as always for the info... and please don't stop!

    Great advice to channel creators about long intros. That and "click-bait" titles are one of the things that puts me off right away.
    Also, its good to see that you are being successful at what you love doing. You are honest, humble and disseminate valuable information.
    I'm sure it does not hurt that you look very pretty as well.
    I've been viewing your channel for a while about different woodworking subjects but you've earned a new subscriber now.

    Quick question , as a person who may be interested in starting my own channel. How did you get selected to review products ? Do you reach out to companies or do they reach out to you ? Thanks for your great info.

    • @woodworkingwithSkyler
      @woodworkingwithSkyler  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Once you reach 1000 subscribers the companies seems to attack you with offers. I get about 3-5 emails every day. You can contact them too as well. But it seems if you review a tool you have the next day 3 companies reach out with similar tools. You can do and sign up for affiliate programs on companies you want to work with, they usually accept 100%

      @@woodworkingwithSkylerone of the things I like about watching your channel Skyler is you are roughly my size...so I learned if something works for you it will likely work for me. Women have a slightly different way of working because most (not all) don't have the same upper body strength as men so we have to sometimes come up with a work around. My biggest issue is I'm filled with arthritis and fybromyalgia...I need strong, powerful tools that are light weight...

    Very well said Skyler. In reality, TH-cam did not "pay" you, you EARNED it. You invested many hours into your BUSINESS and people have to realize it takes work, time, creativity etc. NOW you did not mention the cost of tools and materials. $10K in 6 months sounds like a lot of money but when you are a business it's about the net not gross. So people need to be realistic and commit, it can be very profitable. Thanks! !! !!!
