I've been following slow fashion creators here on YT for a few years now.. I must admit, your honesty is a breath of fresh air! In all the years I have never seen another creator being so transparent about how they get paid for their videos. In all honesty, it opens up our eyes to what is helpful when we actually want to support you.. keep it up Val, it's a pleasure to continue watch you grow.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my TH-cam channel 5 months ago about self development. Now I have 341 subs and almost > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.

When I was a kid, all I wanted was to have a career that pays well so I can buy whatever I want but now that I’m grown up and went through tons of setbacks from losing tons of people in my life, getting lost in the world with full of life traps, being ridiculed for pursuing my dreams, and so on, I can say that long-lasting happiness can’t be bought or earned because it comes from within us. Continue to grow as a person and I’m so glad that you’re part of this journey! I’m hoping to upload my next one this month, which is more than an hr long. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my TH-cam channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a TH-camr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this TH-cam thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! Speaking from experience, this is no longer realistic tbh. Getting monetized within a year is near impossible on youtube today as getting successful is now 95% based on luck.
I heard a statistic that said there are 120 million TH-cam channels in 2023. 90% of those channels never make a penny. 10% of those channels get monetized. 5% will reach 10,000 subscribers, and 2% will get a silver play button. Those stats seem pretty legitimate.

It's really nice to see just an honest, down to earth video based on reality to see how creators can get started. One thing I wanted to say is that I also thought that we were working for free until we get monetized but I realized that a lot of the videos we make before monetization can make us money after monetization, so it isn't completely without reward.

Channel growth really does depend on a number of factors like you said. I picked a very saturated niche, but I do love the topic - self improvement. I have been at it for 1.5 years and I have reached over 400 subs. But I wont give up, it's fun making these videos and really helps me push forward in my own life as well. Great video by the way! ☺

I’ve seen many other channels where they only get about a dollar to two dollars per thousand views. I believe fashion to be one of the niche areas that pay a little better. I liked the recent video about thrifting. I would love to see more simple sewn garments. We both have a minimal comfy style. Channel growth really does depend on a number of factors like you said. I picked a very saturated niche, but I do love the topic - self improvement. I have been at it for 1.5 years and I have reached over 400 subs. But I wont give up, it's fun making these videos and really helps me push forward in my own life as well. Great video by the way! ☺

Appreciated your honesty and effort in this video. Very well done. Also was surprised how much you get paid related to number of views. Seems like over four dollars per thousand views. I’ve seen many other channels where they only get about a dollar to two dollars per thousand views. I believe fashion to be one of the niche areas that pay a little better. Glad you’re doing so well and growing your channel.
