In 2017(accidentally mentioned 2007 in the video), IELTS introduced the option for you to take the test on a computer instead of on paper. First in Australia, and now available around the world. So, what is the difference between computer-delivered IELTS and paper-based IELTS?
If you’re familiar with the paper test, you might notice a few changes between the paper test and the computer test. The obvious change, the paper tests use a pencil, the computer test you type. The real question that you should ask when choosing between the computer-based and paper exam is: Which one is better for me?

Hi, do we get a headset for paper based test just like computer based test?( I didn’t get a headset back in 2013 it was on speaker in a large living room lol with 200 students)
And secondly, for listening and reading paper based tests I guess we are given 10 minutes to transfer answers if I’m not wrong??

In CBT, can we change answers in reading section, within 60mins, i mean going back to passage 1 and check.

Hello Sir. I hope that you are fine. I signed up for the computer exam, thinking that the computer exam had the same pattern and pattern as the paper-based exam. I have always studied from Cambridge books and I need the same template for computer based exam. For example, when listening to questions 1-13 and 31-40 in the IELTS paper exam, the same pattern is always used. Is it the same in IELTS Computer? I'm so worried please help :(

If one is good with typing and prone to computer then they can opt for CDT otherwise i will not recommend as you don't know the condition of the computer in the centre and also you will not get any special time to work on it. When i took the exam, i got sticky keyboard and it really annoyed me throughout the exam

Hello, yes the content is the same. The mode of practice is different. Like for paper you have to write on a paper and for CDT you have to type. Use the ielts website for free sample tests.

How is the listening test marked? Via computer or manually? Because in paper based test if the article is missing from the answer it is still considered right but for computer based, is it the same or the answer is marked wrong?

Hello, the writing and speaking will be evaluated by an examiner. Irrespective of who checks, if you don't follow the criteria then you will lose marks.

can i book the listening, reading and writing on the same day as the speaking portion or do I have to book different days
Hello and thank you for your query. You will get the option of booking the speaking session when you do the exam booking. Pls note due to COVID many centres might not give this option.

@@soupian3920 there is no specific advantage of booking speaking on the same day. It will depend on the availability. You will get your results via SMS, email and the TRF will be sent via post.
