    Pros:
    Result in 3-5 days
    Fewer people , less noise
    Clock on screen
    sheet and pencil is provided
    Whole passage on screen
Copy and paste the answer (less spelling error)
    Highlight the word
    Can take notes
Can edit the lines ( writing section)
    Word Count
Ctrl X and Ctrl V works here
    Cons:
Just 2 minutes for reviewing the answers after the listening exam
    Typing speed should be better
    Typos can affect score
    Typos are not marked red

if we talk about listed cons that hardly affects if you are good in typing
Just 2 minutes for reviewing the answers after the listening exam - you won't need this as you get enough time to review after every section
Typing speed should be better - that's the main point to be taken care of
Typos can affect score - same is applicable in paper writing
Typos are not marked red - we don't get this in paper writing as well

Hi Asiya, I got my IELTS result a couple of days back and got an overall score of 8 (L:9 R:8.5 S:8 W:7). I took a computer-based test and had no idea about the test format as it was my first appearance, but your videos and materials helped a lot in familiarizing the test pattern. Thank you a lot for helping me to secure the desired result within a short span (My preparation time was less than 20 days).

@@rere9162 download their ielts app . Solve free practice tests . And analyse where you are making mistakes.
      In reading
Before, I was missing articles and not managing my time properly.
      Tips
      1) 17 min for section 1
      20 min for section 2
      23 min for section 3
2)always read question first remember keyword and look for answers.
      3) after reading a particular passage always write a single word for it some where on your rough paper.
      4) if you get stuck on one question, please move on. Don't spend too much time on one question.
      5)skim and scan
      For listening
After solving practice tests you will get confidence.
1)just solve more map questions for listening as it is more challenging.
      2) learn about time (like 10 past 15 i.e 3:10 pm) and directions
      3) if you miss one question don't panic. Be focused.
I watch netflix series a lot so maybe my listening skill was better.
For writing, people rarely above 7
So, i ignored this part. I just made sure i use simple and different words.
My section 2 essay was not good at all. It was too bad 😂. But still i got 6.5 .

I think one con I don't really see anyone talking about. This is just an assumption but I could be correct, if you take the test on a computer, just like in the practice mock tests they grade it automatically through their system. Which is why I believe you get the results earlier. So there's no one checking your answers one by one, which might lead to being penalized as you're not getting half points for any correct answers you had but still left an error. for example, the question is asking you the price of the ticket and the answer is 200 pounds. But you only had to write down 200 since there was a pounds sign (£) in the sentence so now it's incorrect.

Even though it will not be my first IELTS, it will be my first computer based one. Let me say that this is way better than the French TEF. There is a reason why people prefer to speak English rather than French and even though this is not on the top, the ease of use and consideration of how the platform works makes a big difference. In the TEF I was struggling with annoying drop down menus for the answers so I could not see them at all. Thank you for this video.

Coincidentally, this video was released on the same day I took my computer-based exam. I find it much more comfortable taking the computer-based exam; I couldn’t find any disadvantages in the format. The major advantage for me had to be the copy and paste function which allows you to move paragraphs in Writing accordingly, whereas in the paper-based exam, you can’t do that since it requires erasing your entire essay

Thanks for your advise, i find it really difficult to take the test on the computer cuz my eye could easily get dry when i look at the screen for a time

Same applies to me. When i practice on pen and paper based, i score 8 bands. But on computer based I cannot cross 6 or 6.5 bands😩

I'm taking my computer based IELTS General Training test on the 28th of August which is in 4 days. I had taken the paper based test 2 years ago and I wasn't sure what differences to expect.
This video is simply the best I've come across in giving me a Demo of what the computer test would look like.
    Thanks and God bless🙏
I wish I could like the video twice😁

    Cons
You cant type 15$/ or15 $ for the answer 15 Dollars. Computer marks it as wrong.
And by mistake if you place two spaces between words, computer marks it as wrong
You cant use SEC for seconds.

Thank you, mam...following your footsteps is sufficient ....May I know whether a mechanical keyboard is used for computer-based...where there would be more space in between the keys .....If that is the case, will it be better to practice it beforehand rather than studying on a laptop whose letters are closely built?

On listening test, are all the questions in each section displayed on the monitor? I am asking because there is a great advantage to see the succeeding questions. There will be chances that I will be stucked on a question, waiting for a clue and it is too late that I will realize the answer has passed. Succeeding questions were missed out because they are not displayed on the monitor. Thank you.

thanks for your video it was very informative. I have one question about the listening section though, will I need to switch between sections or is the listening dedicated to that specific section only? or I will need to look for the question in all sections?

Hi Asiya. Thanks for this. One question though- Do we get any notepad in the computer based IELTS, especially during Listening section, so we can note down our answers as we listen to the clip and then mark those on the screen?

60 min for writing is never enough in the paper based test if you're using a draft before writing the final copy, no matter how good or fast you are. In this regard I prefer the PC version because you're typing and correcting only once, leaving time to add vocab and correct mistakes.

Yes, you can go to any question at any time. You'll be in full control of what your screen shows. I once almost missed Q10 because I didn't realise I needed to scroll down to see it.

@@FasTrackIELTS so it means that I can look for section 2 when the recording of section 1 is played, right? cause I ask my friend if i could do that and he said I couldn’t but he’s not sure because he took a test last year and he cant remember🥲🥲🥲
