Hey, can you tell which videos did you watch? I’m going to give mine soon so I want to prepare. Also did you go with pen and paper based test of the computer one?
Thank you so much for easing my worries Asiya. My speaking test will be live video call as a result of covid-19. I have never had a video call conference before so this is another stress for me. 3 days left for my exam, wish me luck please, i couldn't study much with my 3 years old little monster :)
I think one con I don't really see anyone talking about. This is just an assumption but I could be correct, if you take the test on a computer, just like in the practice mock tests they grade it automatically through their system. Which is why I believe you get the results earlier. So there's no one checking your answers one by one, which might lead to being penalized as you're not getting half points for any correct answers you had but still left an error. for example, the question is asking you the price of the ticket and the answer is 200 pounds. But you only had to write down 200 since there was a pounds sign (£) in the sentence so now it's incorrect.
Even though it will not be my first IELTS, it will be my first computer based one. Let me say that this is way better than the French TEF. There is a reason why people prefer to speak English rather than French and even though this is not on the top, the ease of use and consideration of how the platform works makes a big difference. In the TEF I was struggling with annoying drop down menus for the answers so I could not see them at all. Thank you for this video.

Coincidentally, this video was released on the same day I took my computer-based exam. I find it much more comfortable taking the computer-based exam; I couldn’t find any disadvantages in the format.
