I used to have friends over once a month for what I called, "heart attack night". They'd bring over whatever they wanted as well as whatever I had in the fridge, and if we could get batter to stick to it, we'd deep fry it. We did PB&J's which were my favorite. Pizza, mushrooms, hotdogs, bacon, pickles, various sandwiches, all kinds of stuff
The deep fried mars bar is sooooooo good! I used to get them 20 years ago occasionally as a special treat from the fish and chip shop. I want one now haha
The fried ravioli looks great. In St Louis, deep fried ravioli is a common thing to find at Italian restaurants. Downtown where I once lived there were some places with beef ravioli. Delicious!
We've been doing this for years. Fry a turkey on Thanksgiving day and then because we still have the oil in a big pot we have Fryday where we just randomly batter and fry everything all day. You gotta try thick cut bacon fried like this. Leftover turkey with mashed potatoes wrapped in cornbread dressing ball like a hush puppy takes leftovers to the next level. Gonna try a couple of these next time as well. Maybe my favorite episode ever.
I grew up frying up left over noodles in a skillet till crisp then adding a couple of eggs scramble up add parm and eat spoon simple and good. Love from Texas yall!!
When I worked in a restaurant on a snowy day and when there was basically zero lunch rush......we deep fried almost everything on the menu and had a little staff meal.....AND IT WAS HEAVEN!!!!!! LOL
You should try the classic Scottish battered mars bar. Also, deep fried battered pizza is something you can get in most Chippies (Fish & Chip shops) in Scotland, they are called scrunchies or a pizza crunch in most places. The Scots know how to deep fry food lol.
I remember working in a restaurant, we tried deep frying just about everything. After that, I came to the conclusion that deep frying makes everything better!

The NY strip I wonder if you couldn't do a reverse sear method of cooking it but instead of the pan fry after the oven, deep fry that sucker instead.
