I wanted Natsu to master his Etherious form(END) and defeat Acnologia. It would make sense because Acnologia is immune to all types of magic but Etherious(demons) use curses as described in tartaros arc.

I don't know if that would work still. It's said that curses are a path that branches off of magic, I might be different, but I think it would still use ethernano to a degree.
But it would be interesting if they had gone that route. I too was disappointed that END didn't make as much of a splash as I thought he would, once he surfaced.
Rewriting his book? Ok? When Mira has shown the ability to being able to take over specific traits of demons, would have been an interesting route to go. She might have been able to take over the Demon in Natsu leaving the human untouched. Or the part of END that was tied to Zeref.

Watching it when I was young I didn't really care. I just had fun watching it. But growing up now I can see how the friendship power scaling was kind of trash. The many times Erza should've lost but the power of friendship saved her was just so overused and didn't make any sense

Just want to point out that the Key of the Starry Heavens arc is technically cannon as it was both mention in the manga several times and was worked on by Mishima to prevent the anime from catching up with the manga. Aside from that, great video dude!

The real failure of Fairy Tail is that, by Mashima's own admission, most of the ideas you see weren't planned from the start. It began right after he finished Rave Master, which was carefully plotted out from beginning to end, and he thought he'd unwind with a much less ambitious story where he'd write whatever he saw fit. So everything in it was a mixture of nebulous ideas he thought would be neat to try, to going by whatever the readers were demanding at the time (especially the relationships).
The kicker is, before he started FT, he thought it'd be over by Volume 10, and yet it lasted 63 volumes (not counting the sequel). People will tell you he meant to end it at Phantom Lord (around Volume 9), but that's only half-true; it was a basic idea he thought would happen later, but jumped into it early because he was so excited.
Fortunately, now that FT is over, he's struck a balance between his writing methods for FT and Rave: adding on-the-fly story details to a more concrete story structure where the plot, characters, relationship, and overall power progress in ways that make more sense. Not just for 100 Years Quest, but also his newer series Edens Zero. Yes, it looks like a Fairy Tail clone with the designs and elements it recycles, just as FT did the same (things like Plue, Jellal's design, Etherion, and the Oracion Seis were all in Rave). But looking past all that, you'll quickly find it's a more focused, at times crueler story written by a man who knows exactly what we think of his work, both good and bad.

A good writer can create something good, even without planning everything out. The key is to pay attention to what you've already written and build off that without contradicting it arbitrarily.
Yes he didnt plan the whole ft anime that you have now from the start. He planed just 50 episodes cause he didnt have an idea that it will be soo popular and that fans would love it. And he was fully invested in plannin edens zero in that time. And nothing wrong if he kept going with it further unplaned, cause he still managed to create decent events that are connected with one another. No plot holes in it, everything is selfexplanatory when you watch the show. Just somebody who watches it just for the sake of watching the screen and characters moving could be confused and saying that they dont know whats going on. And in my opinion thats not a failure that is beyond amazing that he can keep going with the writing and planing in such situations. You people think that for example Oda had planned the whole one piece including recent eps.........think again.

I just wanna point out one thing
Acnologia was NOT defeated by the power of friendship, here is why:
1- His arm was cut off by Igneel, that as the first part.
2-Fairy Sphere is the only spell that actually he could not break from Tenroujima arc, and that was the first hint from Mashima.
3- The dragon slayer weakness, motion sickness
4- Natsu being END and an actual Dragon slayer ( the movie) so he already got dragon blood, so he needed to land a blow
5- Wendy being an amazing Enchanter and gave Natsu the magic of all of the 7 dragon slayers, and dragon slaying magic would work on Acnologia but he would just eat it or block it
so having Acnologia on a ship already paralyzed him momenarily and sealing him with an insane Fairy Sphere ( remember MEldy connected the wizards with FT) so he got completely paralyzed, ( if you think DND all attacks on him would be at advantage and attacks within 5 ft would be crits) and the magic of all 7 dragon slayers in one massive hit with all of the above, honeslty was great for me and very acceptable
so I really did not feel it was the POF with Acnologia at all, was beautiful

I love Fairy Tail, and Erza is my favorite character and even I have criticisms. Not out of hate like a lot of people do (because I’m not allergic to touching grass) but out of love, because I know if Mashima had more farsight into the story then Erza would’ve been better-ish written.
I don’t love Erza because she’s a Hollywood Mary Sue Disney girl boss and other buzz words people throw at her. I love Erza because she is a tragic person who truly what’s to do good and wants to see the good in others. She’s not another useless damsel in distress like most shonen female characters in anime, she can carry her own weight and keep up with other characters.
Her power isn’t the point of her character it’s her strong sense of Duty to protect her loved ones…………….
Yet I wish Mashima written her to be actually smarter than she looks in the fights. In fact most of the Fairy Tail characters should’ve been a lot smarter in fights. The 100 monster fight tells you how smart Erza is but nooooooooo, Friendship is the power scaling. Like imagine how different the fights between Kyouka and Irene would have been with the same intelligence Erza had in the 100 monster fight.
Ugh, I swear her back is swollen because of how much she has to carry the show while the negative comments rained down on her.
Half way through watching fairy tail idealised this wasn’t a normal shonen jump and I was just along for the fun not to actually follow a brilliant plot

Loving the thumbnail game. I pretty much agree with everything coming from a guy who also binge-watched Fairy Tail. I had high hopes for this show but just when the show sort of corrected its mistakes bam another glaring flaws. Like how was Acnologia beating by Natsu if magic doesnt work on him? How did Makarov and also why did Makarov not stay dead after using Fairy Law? How come so many characters "die" but stay alive somehow? ( Like Ultear she should've really just died and her sacrifice would have been all the more epic). I've been thinking of doing a FT video myself for a while now this video motivated me more to do so.

It’s been proven those “anime only arcs” are cannon even the movies are cannon I’m guessing you didn’t read 100 year quest so before you spread more and more misinformation actually read 100 year quest Lucy uses a spell from the eclipse arc in 100 year quest and mashima worked on that arc and gave the plot to the studio on what to do there is more and more evidence I could say on why some of things you say are wrong
No it doesn’t work anymore and the fight logic make no scene for fairy tail especially natsu beating the final boss the name that I forgot the name defeats him when he was still easily defeated natsu with time powers not even dragon slayers are enough to defeat him.

Those are all fights that she won on her own. Now there might be more in 100 yrs quest cause I didn't read it whole.

She was only useful in the laxus arc. That was it.
Natsu is a prime example of the crappy power scaling systems omggg. How was natsu able to eat etherion and defeat Jellal without dying? Thought he could only eat fire? Then suddenly, it’s mentioned afterwards that he gets “sick” if he eats other elements... and in my opinion, Natsu did not beat Acnologia. In the scene where he falls off, everyone else looks beat up and he barely has a scratch. He looked more like he gave up rather than having to fight and/or kill all the people who wanted to fight him. If magic attacks don’t work on him, then the 7 dragon slayer arts combined couldn’t possibly have defeated him with one punch. If that were so, Zeref would have killed him a long time ago. And I know Zeref said that there was a demon he created that would kill him, but that’s E.N.D., not Natsu, so it makes no sense that Natsu could have easily defeated an opponent that Zeref couldn’t kill.

Literally the entire show after the Avatar arc just needs to be rewritten. The Spriggan arc had a lot of potential but fumbled miserably. The entire Acnologia plotline thing should have just been scrapped and moved to later in the story.
Hey I new to comment here but fairy tail to me is a wasted potential series. It has great characters and background to expand but it was ruined by typical bad writing choice and common bad story troupes.
I don't even like Jellal or any Canon ships because there not enough for to see their growth. Erza deserve someone better instead of obsessed with rave clone ptsd victim.
I also don't like how they ruin a lot of characters especially Erza with fanservice. Hell I still feel Erene as Erza mother is bullshit and force and feels like Mishima is giving the fans and slave fan base a milf version of Erza.

I don't know, i think the author messed up in making acnologia so damn strong, the dude ate time it's self. I think the god slaying flames Natsu ate in his fight with Zancrow could have come into play here. Natsu wasn't able to eat the flames of god slaying magic because it was a tier above dragon's fire, at least until he emptied all his magic and his body somehow was able to metabolize it.
Similarly Acnologia wouldn't be able to eat any god slaying tier magic. Unless he got the same idea Natsu had.
Honestly the title should be called "5 Things Fairy Tail Failed At."

High School DxD was literally KILLED because of the fan service. Most of its fans complain about it. It has a HUGE potential in terms of world building and plot, but all the author cares about are repetitive harem gags about boobs and many have dropped the light novel because of that.

To much fan service for the girls especially Lucy. Erza is to much of a Mary sue. Friendship goes over the top and doesn't make any sense how it can overcome when it comes to battles that require strength, speed, wit, higher power/magic etc. It's to much Team Natsu for my liking. Enough of their adventures and get to the other characters that need to be more developed.
Best part of Fairy Tail all of the dragon slayers. Best fight of all : 7 of them aganist Acnologia. Finally they all met and worked together and Team Natsu wasn't there to take the glory.
It was Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, Laxus, Cobra, Sting, and Rogue that combined their powers to beat him. I don't like how it was absorbed into Natsu only and looked like a knock off of Luffy's attack from One Piece. Would have been better if all the Dragon slayers could have used their Dragon Force. Whatever happened to that?

those two anime only arcs are only there so toxic shippers of the most trash ship in Fairy Tail Nalu can feel good about having the ship more confirmed. the worst thing Fairy Tail is the Ship wars ESPECIALLY Nalu vs Nali, because this ship debate is the most childish in not just Fairy Tail, but also one of the most toxicly trash ships in anime history.
