Suko(the baby ape) is Skar King's son, he keeps all the females for himself in his harem within the throne room. The old ape he kicked into the lava for standing up to him was Suko's caretaker.

fun fact: Suko is actually a bit taller than Kong was on Skull Island. Suko is a child ( obviously) while Kong is a teen during that time. Skar King is Suko’s father. Skar also takes away other Apes mates & impregnates them. The ape that Skar kicked into the lava was Suko’s caretaker. Skar abuses his Suko hence the scar on his eye
With mothra being symbiotic with godzilla, he'll only listen to her and Kong doing the alpha call mistakenly. When he came out, the pyramid triggered Godzilla to attack him without listening

Great reaction. Saw GxK three times in theaters and my wife and I have watched it twice at home. We love it. Fantastic visual storytelling, music, action, and the movie had so much heart.
EDIT: "There's a Hollow Earth in the Hollow Earth?" Think of Hollow Earth as a 3D honeycomb. It's not just one big inverted sphere that doesn't go anywhere deeper. It's many huge places, some continent sized areas that then lead to other places. All connected, more or less. Lots of hidden spaces.
I gotta imagine human engineers and city planners gotta be making bank every every kaiju fight, lmao! Also Big G making the Coliseum a literal cat box where he can sleep will never not be amusing to me!
lol same thing in the later Marvel films. "Whats that? Aliens blew up the city? Oh no thats...horrible.....ok now get Benny on it asap!" lol
Basically, the best team is Team Kongzilla!!!
I loved this movie simply for more of the Godzilla/Kong team up. Btw, Shimo, the ice titan, it's actually a she.
The 10th Anniversary of The MonsterVerse.
These iconic titans together have given us nothing but goodness.
Kong for 90 years, Godzilla for 70 years and being part of this has been so entertaining.
Movie No. 5, GxK is amazingly good.
I saw it IMAX 3D with a packed house, opening weekend.
The science, history, culture of this universe is vast.
Some people go to watch these movies for the battles, but the background of such things are interesting to me and because everything has a reason to exist.
The human characters are important (they are).
Subtle connections from us to these beasts and beyond aren't just
because of the same world, different levels.
These Titans are the showstoppers, established or newly introduced, ally or threat.
Loved the homages to the classic films with Godzilla's newer colors (Godzilla 2000 from 1999)
and Kong's Powerhouse mechanism harnessing energy (King Kong vs. Godzilla from 1962).
As for the battles, they are beyond incredible with the effects and Mo Cap, savage yet articulated.
After all the hype and success of this film, you gotta wonder what could happen next?
So much more they can pull from the classics to add in for this universe.
Either way, we want more.
Mothra in this film is not the one that laid the egg we see hatch at the start of KOTM 2019. In the scene during the credits we find out that Mothra laid ANOTHER egg before she went to find Godzilla after he got badly injured by the Oxygen Destroyer. The Mothra we see in this film is likely the one that hatched from THAT egg we see in the end credits of KOTM, so this would make her the daughter of the Mothra in KOTM. But Mothra has a genetic memory in the MonsterVerse: Every single new Mothra inherits the memories of the previous one.
This movie gets a lot of flak for being so different from Minus One, but it's a true modern day Showa era movie, Godzilla suplexing Kong will always be my favorite moment from the movie solid 7/10
This movie is Hollywood, while the Godzilla Minus One was Japan Toho perfecting their franchise by adding in the drama with the acting. I might have shed a tear or two, but I will deny that statement in court.

8:13 the Colosseum reminds Godzilla of his old home which is why he sleeps in there
The Glove is made from some of the remains of MechaGodzilla.
Its implied that its a whole suit of armour thats stored in Outpost 1 but only one glove was needed.
Fun fact: The in Universe reason Godzilla Sleeps in the Colosseum is because it reminds him of his old home The Underwater Temple in Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) which was destroyed during his resurrection in the movie.
The director has stated he did that with Godzilla because his cat was sleeping in a box like that and thought it would be great if he had Godzilla do it as well...
The biggest pyramid in the world is in Mexico, and nobody questions how that was built.
Suko is actually bigger than Kong was during the events of the skull Island movie. Kong in skull Island was 108 ft tall Suko in this new empire movie is around 164 ft. Kong was a teenager during the events of skull Island and suko seems to be still an adolescent so the reason Suko is bigger it could have something to do with the hollow Earth energy. That would also explain why the other apes despite being malnourished are still similar sizes to Kong. The reason Scar King isn't as big as he should be it could be due to the fact that the hollow Earth energy infected Scar Kings brain more than his physical body.

I really like how they've created a world and a mythology that make the Kaiju feel human in scale.
She really thought Kevin Hart was Skar King 🤣
I love the natural progression of the bond between Kong and Suko. Even with that "I'll beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker" moment. And the fact that Jia was prophesized as a hero who can rouse Mothra from her slumber is amazing, same with her meeting other members of her tribe. Also, I not only love the "Aw, shut up" punch on the ape annoyingly running his mouth a few seconds before Kong met Skar King, but the part where Kong lobs a rock and creams the one ape in the head.
Fun fact: Dan Stevens also played The Beast in the remake of Beauty And The Beast.

I adore this movie and quickly became one of my favorite Godzilla movies of all time. Godzilla Evolved is easily my favorite Godzilla design as it combines my favorite designs (Godzilla 2000 and MonsterVerse Godzilla) into one badass looking Godzilla.

If you're curious about what are the creatures in this film, The Creatures that appeared in this movie are: Leafwings(the birds flying) , WartDogs(the giant dog pack) ,Kong, Doug( the giant lizard stealing kongs meal), Parrot Frog, Scylla(the giant squid crab), Godzilla, Suko (the baby Kong’s name), vertacines (the flying creatures the ship was flying with), Tiamat(the giant sea dragon serpent), hell hawks(the birds that looked like a mix of hawks and bats), Warbats(the flying serpents), DrownViper(the sea serpent that attacked Kong), Tree Mimic( the creature that ate the mercenary) , Skar King, Shimo, and Mothra.

I've seen enough reactions to know that she really liked this movie. My teenagers and their friends had a great time at this movie. Perfect Summer movie.

I've loved Godzilla since I was a kid, without knowing the meaning behind it all... So fascinating to have it come back around. I remember staying up as a six year old, watching a Godzilla cartoon marathon when lightning struck near our house and I thought qe were being attacked by Godzilla! Might have told that story in the last movie reaction. 😂

This was basically a homage to the Showa Series, I love it very much, yes, the next installment is in March 2027, a long wait. Love your guy's Cavitycolors shirts, awesome!!
This is the first movie - other than the original King Kong vs Godzilla from 1962, which was a special case - where Kong did not automatically attack with lethal force. Every other movie and Kong is extremely vicious, especially to an enemy that he’s fighting, arguably even more than Godzilla. Here, they toned him down to show that he’s old and alone and willing to be gentler for the sake of having people of his own, and to make the Skar King look worse by comparison. Kong has never been a nice or gentle character, and even here, when he had to fight, nothing was off-limits as long as it helped him win. So it’s impressive that after 91 years of cinematic history, they managed to create another ape who makes Kong look reasonable by comparison.
Godzilla, on the other hand, while tough and merciless when he needs to be, never needed to necessarily kill every monster that acted up or challenged his authority. He would let them live if they submitted and backed down (except for Ghidorah, Godzilla has never accepted a surrender from him). But in this movie especially, they’ve basically turned him into a serial killer, a kaiju version of Dexter going out and slaughtering any monster that even exists in a place that Godzilla doesn’t want them to.

These Godzilla King flicks are just good fun action flicks, not high art nonsense so I appreciate them for that. Sometimes I just wanna shut my brain off and enjoy the ride, you know? But still, its hard to think too highly of any of the monsterverse flicks after seeing Minus One, that was just a masterpiece of a film. I gave this one a 8 before seeing Minus One, goes down to a 7 after it but that is still way above the mid way line. It's a real fun flick.

I always just assumed that the "X" in between words was just another version of saying "and" or even "&". Godzilla Kong with nothing in between doesn't grammatically sound correct. However "Godzilla and Kong" or "Godzilla & Kong", that sounds appropriate. At least to me.
VS means they're fighting, X means "Cross" and they are teaming up and / means "slash" and that theyre gonna be making out.

Regarding the titles and the "X"... in the Japanese films, the "X" represented a word, the Japanese word "tai" which is "versus." In the Heisei films, they used the English letters "VS" to be hip, but it was still pronounced "tai" in Japanese. For the Millennium films, they used the "X' to replace "tai" again to be hip. So when you translated them into English, it was still, say, "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus," not "Godzilla [Ecks] Megaguirus" or "Godzilla, Megaguirus."
However, for this movie, the "X" is again used to replace a word, but that word is "and." The title should be said as "Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire."

I did like what the score was trying to do for most of the film - that 80's retro synth sound was great but I did miss the grand orchestral stuff at times. That and as much as this was fun, Skull Island and the first two Godzilla's - there is a tone of scale and weight behind the monsters - here they got my boy Zilla do a perfect dive into the ocean, and it just diddnt have the same feeling if ya know what I mean. Pacific Rim - now thats a movie that did scale right! Cape Cod, MA ;)

I'm with Mrs movies. I would not want to go to Hollow Earth. The thought of looking up at the sky and seeing mountains above my head would freak me out. I realize that the way gravity works there would prevent rocks and boulders from dropping on me, but still if it got launched with enough force then the reverse gravity could have it come crashing down on the side you are standing on. Just saying. Not to mention the house sized (or larger) beasts that will try to eat you at every opportunity.

dont get me wrong i love godzilla and have for years but one thing ive wondered with this monster verse is. is godzilla still a radiation mutated iguana like in the originals or is he an actual monster.? because the hollow earth godzilla lore predates the atomic bomb creation lore. btw im a fan not a nerd😂 thats why im asking
I wonder that too. That's why I don't like the monster verse. I'm not a hard core fan but i knew the basic story of Godzilla being a radiation mutated animal, seeks revenge or destruction of humans etc. Now this storyline is too ridiculous for my liking and won't watch anymore of the monster verse as it's just not to my liking. I prefer the more serious tone of Godzilla minus one.
Godzilla wasn't a mutated iguana in the original, you're thinking of the American version from the 90s. In the original Godzilla was a crypid a living dinosaur "Godzillarus" who was mutated by the Nuke bomb testing.
Shimo did freeze Godzilla and he broke out of it being incased in ice you just did not show it

It is really not possible for a hollow earth to be inside a hollow earth inside a solid Earth with a solid inner core cause then that would mean their Earth in that universe would be 30 to 40 times bigger than what our actual Earth is.

Yall watch and react to THE ENTITY 1982...one of the scariest movies ever..based on a true story...
While this film is good it’s a bit disappointing for me. I understand that Godzilla vs. Kong was a but more focused on Kong for story reasons, however i feel that Godzilla x Kong should have been a more equal balanced film between both Godzilla and Kong. Unfortunately, what really drags this film down from being great is utter lack of Godzilla in this film! He’s a side character in the film even though his name is in the title? The writers in charge of the MonsterVerse need to figure out how to either balance both Kong and Godzilla equally if they are in a film together or just focus more on Godzilla.
This film is the weakest of the MonsterVerse at this point.
Again i feel i must reiterate i don’t think this is a bad film it’s just a bit disappointing at times for me.
With all that said i rank the films as such:
1. Godzilla: King of the Monsters
2. Kong: Skull Island
3. Godzilla vs. Kong
4. Godzilla (2014)
5. Godzilla x Kong

I rate this one a 4 out of 10. I'm being generous. It's extremely goofy and like I said earlier I'm not a fan of Yeager style(Pacific Rim) CGI. King Kong needs dental insurance and a Winter Soldier bionic arm? Fail. Yes Hollywood threw alot of money into this one, too bad they forgot about telling a good story
this is my favorite movie of all time I enjoyed watching Kong's fight with Skar King and the final fight between Godzilla, Kong, Skar King, and Shimo. The ape that skar king killed could've been an older brother or an old friend of Suko, I watched videos of Skar King from Goji Center and other videos, and it was said that Skar King kept all the female apes to himself so the ones that were working were the males. Suko stands 149 feet tall that's 45 feet taller than Kong from 1973 who stands 104 feet tall. The reason why Godzilla sleeps in the colosseum is because it reminds him of his old lair that was destroyed in Godzilla King of the Monsters, so Godzilla is kind of starting to get homesick I learned about it from Dangerville.

Im not really sure how I feel about the direction the series has gone. When it seemed GvsK would be the finale, I was okay with them abandoning all pretense of realism and seriousness to deliver all the crazy, fun monster action you could ask for with a hollywood budget. For various reasons I was dissappointed with the action in both Godzilla films. Skull Island was okay. In GvsK, the monsters move too fast, technology suddenly jumps 200 years, and physics just dont exist. Plus, it was outrageously clear that they were done even trying with the human story. But all that aside, it still came across as quick, but efficient, with thin but adequate story, details and characters to justify the action.
But GXK is so obviously a glorified toy commercial that feels rushed, not efficient, and theres nothing left to take seriously or be deeply invested in. Even the destruction and loss of human life feels like black comedy at this point. I dont know. I think I liked the style and tone of KOTM best, and would have preferred they stuck to that with improvements. Ill keep watching these, but Id like them to turn the silly dial back a little.

Mr Kaiju Cowboy Movies rates this one below Godzilla Minus One. I agree 💯 percent because I'm not a fan of Hollywood ruining franchises. The Yeaghar style monsters were too Hollywood for me. Pacific Rim, Transformers, Skull Island look. Excessive CGI. King Kong dental insurance, fast moving titanic monsters...all Hollywood
You didn't offer any detail on what made the analytics "weird", but I suspect this film simply isn't as popular as others in the franchise. Speaking for myself, Godzilla - 1.0 is infinitely better.
This is the #3 Box Office Movie in 2024. Blind Wave did a Reaction to this movie around the same time we released ours and it did gang busters for them and performed normally compared to their other movie reactions. Our normal Friday releases get about 15-20k views the first day. This just hit 15k views after a week. I figured it would do about as well as Dune 2 did, which at this point in its release had twice as many views as this video, 28K.
This isn't about comparing this to Godzilla -1. As a Godzilla die hard, any Godzilla is great. More Godzilla all day! You don't need to have them compete. Watch both and enjoy both. I didn't expect this to do as well as Godzilla -1, but wasn't trying to compare this performance to that. I was comparing it to our general releases. The Clash of Titans Remake had more views at the point in its release, as did Masters of the Universe and Urban Legend.

The casualties in Rio have doubled because I watched this movie twice already. But people died way higher in Hong Kong in the previous movie because I watched it 4 times.
