This piece of music has the absolute power to stop me in my tracks. It holds on to me and I feel so safe when I hear it. I am a classically trained recorder and flute player and have never been so deeply touched by anything else in my life. This has become part of my soul and will live with me for the rest of my days.
As someone under 30 who looks to make 'classical music' make sense to peers and youths, I think utilizing an album format, even with diverse songs and styles, is a stroke of genius. Well done. Oh, and lovely work; three cheers for Anglican choral music!
For many of us in MUCC, including myself, this was our favorite piece. We had a choice to pick a song from that concert to take with us into the spring semester. We all immediately chose this piece
We like always Latin language use in world wide translated. I don't know how to speak.but I like always. Specialy wedding songs. >>>MICHAEL FERNANDES&FLY KUWAIT MANGALORE BAJAL J M RD.
I think the quaver is a Decca thing, they recorded Mealor's album and Whitacre's first album. It's really annoying and nearly ruins the music in my opinion.
Honestly, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Hence, the Polyphony recording and the BYU Singers recording of Whitacre's music are my preferred listening.

Oh, how I love the soprano burst and tenor reassurance...

I just happened to hear a snatch on Radio 4 then looked this up. I can't believe how rich this music feels. Thank you Mr Mealor.
Wonderful bass here--Adrian Peacock and other Tenebrae basses are quite on point.
Magical, heavenly, heaven here on earth, a true genius.
Lowest note I've ever sang in a piece of music that actually has the note written in the music. Bb1.... Awesome.
My school visited in March and you guys sang this for us. It is so powerful and much more beautiful in person! Such wonderful musicianship.
Utterly beautiful. Thank you for carrying on the tradition of composing proper choral music.
Westminster Choir College's Schola Cantorum did this at Readings and Carols this past December. I love this piece so much!
The Concert Choir of Mansfield University sang this piece for their Christmas concert. I went to see the concert 3 times just for this song...

Um registro em português brasileiro: Esta melodia é um alento para a alma.
Wonderful :)
I want to know what 3 people DIDN'T like this piece?!
What is the name of the choir that sang this splendiferous piece?
pure sound by the soprano's
Either Paul Mealor is a dab hand at multi tracking and has an extraordinary voice, or else he isn't telling us who is singing. Why not?
