Aren't we lucky to have this interview just months before this beautiful, gentle, massively talented soul passed on.
Watching his interview makes me realize how incredibly humble and nice he was. Love his music. May God receive him in his arms.
I was fortunate to work 3 of his Concerts with a Production Company who helped setup Stage, PA, and Lighting and and met him and talk to him for a few minutes at each show, always the kind type and was an amazing experience. I Still have my Crew Pass and he always would talk to everyone working the shows for a few mins. He also would have everyone gather together about 90 before the show and do a Prayer and Dinner like a family. Marvin was an incredible person with so much talent his concerts was amazing and perhaps the more professional individual to ever work with. Thank you (Meat) sendingPrayers to all his Family, Friends, Band past to present, and fellow Fans.

I saw Meatloaf Live ln concert 20 years ago at West Newcastle , NSW , Australia . He is without doubt one of the greats . When the sound system failed midway through the show he sang A cappella until repairs were completed , his rich voice filled the enormous hall with such clarity , warmth and power and was delivered so precisely that this was easily the highlight of the evening ! . An incredible performance ! . RIP Meatloaf , your music is immortal .

But I agree. I used to live in Arkansas and I've always liked him. A very good friend of mine named Chad Galleger worked closely with Gov. Huckabee. With the Governor's backing Chad became our youngest mayor at age 22. Chad was brilliant .
It was funny to see the reaction of all those old fogies. Man, were they jealous! 😂
One of the losers got so mad he threw a huge chair down a flight of stairs. It was hilarious!

Just heard Meat Loaf passed away. Had to watch this interview to honor him. Amazing how he seems to include everyone in the room as he tells his story. He will be missed.

My condoloences...I tuned out after 5 minutes...probably the worst story I ever heard.
The older generations had interesting stories. I knew a guy(now in his mid-50's) that had so many shocking yet very interesting stories. Now with our country so restricted everyone's lives are boring(I am not including crimes). Instead of watching "woke" media, try asking your grandparents for interesting stories that happened in their lives. You would WISH you came from their era, where freedom and no invasion of privacy existed.

Binging on Meat Loaf since I learned of his passing. So much I had no idea about and listened again to the magical moments he put out there. We will miss this talent.

I was born in 1960 in Texas, and my mom said we just came in from shopping, and I had just turned on the TV to watch cartoons when they announced the shooting.

@@piggyroo100 Pretty standard stuff from then. Our local TV stations out of Wichita Falls had a kids show featuring cartoons you can't see now like Heckle and Jeckyl, Popeye and Mighty Mouse.
"Its all coming back to me now" Meatloaf. I was in the 5th grade in Austin Elementary School in Odessa Texas when we got the tragic news from our teacher. Mrs Albright, I remember it well.

KATHEY ATKINSON wrote a book called Grief of a Nation. I still have my autographed copy. She had quite a story. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her life partner was Gary Tweedy and he was a interesting guy too... RIP My friend...

I'm from the Netherlands and when i was younger i did some volunteer work at a home for the elderly.
After work i used to talk to some of the oldtimers and they had the most amazing stories to tell.
Mostly about WW2 because that's what i was interrested in the most but if you wanna hear some great stories take the time to talk to the oldtimers.
Alot of them are real lonely too and it's an amazing sight to see them come back to life sort of when they've got somebody to talk to.

I met Meat Loaf when I was on the concert committee in college. His band had an extensive rider with the contract, and we did our best to fill it at our rural college. When it came time for the group to eat, Meat Loaf personally invited our team in, saying how professional venues often don’t fulfill the rider as well as we did, and that he wanted us to sit down and eat with him! He was genuine and took time to talk with each of us a bit, as the team was largely comprised of music majors.
Thanks to the host for not interrupting. Makes a nice change.

Meatloaf is a good time. Huckabee has some of the best guest in talk show history. These rock stars are the ones I grew up listening to back in the 80's. I love this show.

I remember very well where I was. I was about 5 years old, riding my bouncing horse with springs. My mom was ironing clothes and watching tv. She started crying and got really upset. It was a sad day.

Wow, to lose this amazing man is so sad. He had such a presence just singing a song and anyone watching him can see the extreme passion and authentic emotions. We don't have many of these kinds of singers left who you can almost see their souls as they perform.

Great story. I just wish Governor Huckabee had asked more questions as Meatloaf was telling the story cause there were certain things that I wasn’t clear on that I think could’ve been explained more thoroughly that I wish the Governor would’ve inquired about. But it’s a very interesting story.

I was in the 2d grade also and our teacher Miss Howard announced it to the class! I'm 64.

When JFK was assassinated. I was in elementary school and 8 years old. It came over the PA speaker that we were told to go home. When I got home my mom said "why are you here?" I said President Kennedy was killed. She didn't believe me so I turned on the TV and sure enough it was on the news. She broke down in tears.
Isn't it wierd, they just let us out to walk home. No calls to parents, etc. I was in 6th grade in a Dallas suburb, Richardson.

I went to the same high school (Thomas Jefferson) at the same time although I didn't know Meatloaf since he was a couple of years older. The Catholic kids were excused if they wanted to go see JFK. I was in a car-pool with some Catholic kids so I went with them to Love Field and saw the President and Jackie arrive and leave in the motorcade. We weren't hijacked by secret service and didn't know what else to do so went back to school. I remember how excited I was to tell everyone I had seen JFK and how confused I was when everyone told me he was already dead. "But I just saw him." Latter that day they arrested Oswald and the news reported they had found a Mauser rifle in the Book Depository. By the next day they were saying it was a Mannlicher-Carcano, the first time I ever heard of such a rifle. We were friends with people who worked in Henry Wade's D.A. office and O'Neill's funeral home and so I heard a lot of strange things over the following months. When the Warren Report came out the following year I tended to believe it. Today I realize it was a total whitewash to make people stop asking inconvenient questions. It didn't work.

I was 13, in the eighth grade. They called us in from free time after lunch. My mother was literally sick in bed the next weekend. I never saw her sick before. Devastating what we have learned about our government since then.
I was 14 in the 9th grade. It was absolutely devastating. The Principal came in and told us the President had been shot and was dead. It was so shocking
I was in the sixth grade, just finished up a week of camping in NH and when we pulled up to the school where all the parents were waiting; a teach came on the bus and she was crying and told us that the president had been shot and had died. I was on a bus later on that same school year when I saw a picture of the Beatles for the first time. Another Friday , Feb 1964

Our teacher(Mr. Vander Woude, pronounced Vanderwoody)was called out of the room and when he came back in, he told us the president had been shot and we needed to pray(this was a public school). He was called out of the room again and came back to tell us that the president was dead and school was being dismissed. I remember that walk home vividly, the smells, fall leaves crunching under my shoe's and the ladies of the neighborhood, at their fences, talking to each other and crying. I was in that same classroom, early in 1964, when I saw my first Beatles photo, on the front of a 45 rpm paper cover, that was passed around by our music teacher, Mr. White Pidgeon(he was of indigenous ancestry). It was the most memorable school year of my life.
@@kibblenbits I was in the 3rd grade, Perkins School in Brockton, Mass. We didn't hear about it till around 2:30 PM, an hour after he was shot. It was lower income area school mostly, they might have forgotten about us. Walking home was surreal. The stores were already closing, photos of him hung in the windows. People on the sidewalks staring blankly, I had never seen a grown man crying, but there were several openly weeping. JFK was like family in Massachusetts. Life had stopped, there was nothing else that mattered. The local newspaper had the EXTRA edition and the headline was burnt into my memory. I wish I still had that copy. I saw one many years later while I was working in an older home. Almost made me cry.

Meat loaf was a HUGE part of my childhood. Dad used to blast his cassette tapes in the jeep while we were out jeeping in the mountians.
I still jam out to his music all the time.
My very FIRST memory in life, was laying on the couch and my dad changing my diaper, while my mother stood by the television 📺 sobbing at the assassination of JFK.
I would love to just sit and listen to Meat tell the stories of his life. He is an amazing singer!

I remember. We were stationed in Charleston, SC at the time, and my dad who was in SAC (USAF) started yelling at the TV in disbelief and cried when Kennedy died. My father was a loadmaster and he flew on the plane that transported the bubble top, clothing, etc. for President Kennedy. One of the secret service guys was ALWAYS flying in the back with the President's car. He gave my dad a tie clasp of the PT109......I still have that clasp.

I don’t really remember as I was 9 months old but something extreme must have happened at my house as I get chills and cry every time it comes on tv.
I was only 2 months old at the time.
I was 5 months, at the time.
I had just turned seven years old five days before JFK's assassination. He was killed only 60 miles from my front doorstep.
I was in the first grade and remember everything about that day.
I was barely 3. My mom said I sat in my rocking chair and watched the coverage, no doubt not understanding it at all but sensing something.
I was 10 at the time. I recall all the disbelief coupled with profound shock and grief. I remember watching TV for days. This was history in the making. My Mom went to the local drugstore and purchased film for her camera. She wanted to capture whatever she thought would be historical. Mom was so proud that she thought ahead and bought color film which would make the photos more realistic. I told Mom she did a great thing........but........we didn't have a color TV.
It just goes to show that God takes care of us even when we make bad choices. He always has our back.

Tell that to all the kids that ravage through the dumps as their playgrounds in poverty, looking for something to sell or eat. God works in mysterious ways I guess!

I saw Meat perform in the National Lampoon “Lemmings” tour at my college (SUNY, Geneneso, NY) in 1975 and he just blew us away! Not long after he had his first album.
I have been a fan of his since The Rocky Horror Picture Show, didn't like the movie all that much but his part of it was fantastic.

I was 4 years old and my Mom was ironing clothes with the TV on. She started crying so hard. I asked her what happened and she told me. I don't remember anything else at age 4.
I was about the same age. I remember my dad calling my mother into the living room to see the news interruption of whatever was on.
Same age but I remember it bc mama was watching and crying while ironing.
I was 3 and my mom was ironing also watching tv and crying and then on the phone with my grandma!

John John's salute and the funeral was my first long term memory that I know. I was 2.

@@justthink5854 I have done 3 years research on John F Kennedy.. It certainly didn't happen the way they said. I read a book by Roger Stone about. Lyndon Johnson.. That was a disgusting man.. I learned probably more than I wanted to.. Not just from his book.. I couldn't get through the book. I certainly have great Respect for Roger Stone. Thank u for taking the time to sent me a comment. I did come up with everything we were told is a lie.. Regarding the Government.. I turn to Jesus for my help now.. Be prepared get food and water and cash on hand.. This I believe is Red October.. I was in college at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, NC. A burly grad student came into the organic lab where several of us were trying to identify unkowns, white as a sheet and shaking. He said Kennedy had been shot. No one believed him (we didn't want to), so he brought a radio in. It was quite a shock.
I was just thinking of him today this is too funny. I was thinking of his famous song, "will love me forever."

I was in Yokota Air Force Base in Japan that day I was 10 years old in the 4th grade. Still have the Stars and Stripes newspaper. Very sad day in history.
I was able to meet him back in October, we actually talked about this story and the $5 bill that he and his friends split. He was such a nice guy.

I seen Meatloaf at the Hard Rock in Vegas in 2010 .... he put on a "High Energy" non stop two hour show and played all his hits ... I was Second Row Centre about 12 feet away from him .... it was "Awesome" ... he has lost a lot of weight and looks kinda frail right now ... I hope he is doing well ... great stories .... I'm a fan ... grew up with his music ...

I don’t believe he knew enough details about the assassination (or who did it) to be murdered by the government, if that’s what you’re thinking. If he did, he probably would have been taken out several decades ago, imo. Interesting question though.
Now that is exactly how the favor of God works in our lives, no effort on our part, and no planning by us. Just waking around in His goodness all the day long
