- This is probably the least straight forward video we've made in awhile, as there's performance losses and gains with both configurations in different portions of the RPM range...so it truly just comes down to what you want personally! Either way, we now have ECU mapping built for both setups to make sure our customers have proper fuel mapping in place no matter what they decide to do.
You’ve convinced me to buy a Transalp as my next bike.
I am already putting together a 3 page dissertation to my wife on why I should also be doing this. I currently have a WR250R and do way more road riding then I thought I do so why do I need a dual-sport? Maybe I should wait for the "new" DRZ400?
I really like mine a lot
I just bought one and i adore it. Ignore all the negative reviews and comments. It really is a bloody good bike
Me too
Love mine. Almost 4000 miles on it since Feb. I split miles between the TA and my Versys 1000.
Awesome, awesome results guys. Impressive stuff.
Sounds to me that baffle in saves a bit more gas.
I’d like to see if air box mods would make a difference
I have the YOSHI on my TRANSALP. It's an Awesome sounding, great looking, quality product.
Robbing Peter to pay Paul? Is that Bible reference?
WOW that's like over a 100hp to the crank!
Yup, just over. Not bad at all.
What if you run a aftermarket header but stock muffler?
Must say i like the way you work yes this was a question i had i played around with the muffler and could feel a dif... yes it was small but is was there while we are on this topic what would you say in general std header a longer pipe on a AT CRF1100 DCT 47cm or shorter 39cm just in general i use this bike from bottom to top end technical riding dirt and open roads i do not have a map in but did the air filters Bmc . DCT we cant dyno here in SA to see on paper thank you
Interesting. That’s a US spec bike though to start with. Wonder what would happen with a EU version like mine because the Yoshi is an American brand designed on the US version.
Yoshimura is Japanese...we run 95RON, opposed to 89RON in the USA
@@williamrae9954 I know it sounds Japanese but I’m pretty sure they are actually made in California 🤷♂
@jfro5867 Google Pops Yoshimura, a Japanese gentleman, engineering legend...HNY
How does the full exhaust and ECM tune TA compare to a stock Africa twin?
With the yosh ,remap, air filter, air box mod what is the cost for the retail consumer? Thanks.
Still would like to bump up the compression a little bit to bring that torque number up, as they say horsepower sales the machine but torque wins the race. Love your videos!
V-Strom 800 makes a good bit more torque than the Honda.
@@exothermal.sprocket never seen that anywhere, be nice if that was true, the V-Strom 800 is geared lower though, and I have seen races between these two bikes and the Transalp 750 always wins, but I do hear that the V-Strom has better suspension for off road for taking bigger bumps.
@@cliftonsr I've been around a couple of high quality tuning sites with their dyno work on the GSX-8S/R platform, and the V-Strom runs the same powerplant. Fully tuned the 8S/8R are putting down 88-90 hp, and 63-65 ft-lb, depending on dyno.
@@exothermal.sprocket put that type of tune on the V-Strom 800 and you would have a real weapon of an adventure bike for sure.
@@cliftonsr Both the Transalp and 800DE sound rad with the right pipe on them.
Check out Austin Teyler and his ripping up mountains in the offroad with the 800DE.
I'm curious if any airbox mods will help?
so,a question,if you put a full system and air filter, you have to remap the ecu?
Yes, that's why they do this, to sell their tuning...
Exactly why manufacturers use exhaust valves for low rpm improvement, thought that would have been obvious?? 🤔
Don’t mix systems. That’s my takeaway.
My debit card is just waiting for the rebel 1100 lol
It's crazy how suffocated new bikes are from the factory.
