Another excellent informative video. I know it doesn't pay the bills but it places you at Balance a level above the competition. Thanks Phil,

Hey Phil, thanks for all the Balance videos I’ve now run across. Most excellent, and your endorsements of these beautiful speedy cats shows the pride in the workmanship. Love it, just can’t get over staring at the picture of the blue Balance behind you, but it could use an ironing, can’t rest on the little things. Cheers Doug

Hi Phil, i would like to know your opinion regarding mast furler or in-boom-furler in general and if possible in regards to the recommended sail-material :)

I wonder if anyone has tried a North 3Di carbon sail on one of these boats.

Thank you for the valuable information... Just for curiosity is it possible to order a sail for monohul from you?

Why not use a reefable wing sail (fabric with frame, not solid like in Americas Cup). Wouldn't that be better performance, or at least equal performancethat is easier to sail and less rigging?

Pretty costly and radical for most users. The problem with wing sails is that even if they rotate if you get into strong radically shifting winds, even without the wing engaged, you can easily capsize. Not for me.

@@balancecatamarans you think this is still a big risk with reefable ones like the advanced wing systems membrane? they look like they are used the same as you would a normal main. Are you thinking they have much less give, and would need to be combined with an auto strain relieving system of some kind to be safe?

I just put an AWS (www.advancedwingsystems.com) on two Vision 444 and will shortly put them on the new St. Francis 45. So much easier to handle, unbelievable performance and incredible longevity. We will be in Cape Town in 2 weeks if anyone would like a sea trial...
