Wow, my flight from Cancún landed using this exact approach! ATC asked if they wanted an ILS or visual... they could just pick up the airport in the haze so they went visual. (I was listening to ATC via UA's audio thing). Sweet video!
@N756TA I have a GPS, but it is inside my head, I always had that ability of knowing exactly where I was, even as a navigator in the Marines. That usually comes with experience, and sooner or latter you find out that in flying everything may seem different, but there is a method to all the madness. Thanks for the comment
This is a Wilco Airbus, and it is payware. The window is the FMC that I open up because it is easier than trying to pan down and select buttons with a mouse
awesome, very nice approach and very smooth landing ! i know, you're doing visual approaches around KLAX so often because you're fimiliar with the area in real life, but what's about an visula approch to UKLL runway 32 or EDDL runway 24 R ? would be cool to see this ^^ BTW: Great video, as always :-)
Hey, I know it has been a while since you have uploaded this video. If you get a chance could you please tell me the scenery and night lighting you used for LA. Awesome approach btw. Much appreciated ;)
He's recording from this monitor and looking at a GPS in another. :-) Just kidding, great VOR navigation and you have that ability I can never seem to get the hang of, thinking fast. Amazing video and thanks, will be trying this approach momentarily.
@bob22903 Not yet, I have 2 to go, I've been procrastinating, because one is a visual approach (Lukla) and the other (Toncontin) I have a version of it already up. But if someone sends me these requests for some of these approaches that are more useful than people think (you are doing all 3 parts of a VOR tutorial on this approach, flying to SMO VOR, flying from SMO VOR, and triangulation, great approach to practice). As long as I can do it fast, I'll do a requested approach I like.
@UkraineStar77 As far as the area, I really am familiar, we use the same 110 (Harbor) Freeway to land at Hawthorne, we come from the south (instead of North) over the freeway at 1500 feet and turn on final on to runway 25 at KHHR (for VFR). What is up with Düsseldorf ? This airport keeps popping up like a bad zit, I've heard about EDDL about 150 times already. Is it a hard approach? I really keep seeing it a lot. I'll take a look at Ukraine too, can't ignore the Orange Revolution, LOL.
@FSX404 haha been super busy with school recently man. Got my driving test this week, so as soon as i have that, you can expect me in the right seat some time soon.
on approach plates, what does it mean if it says 'LR-187deg' or 'LB-001deg' and what do you do if it says to make a turn at L-12 DME This is from the YBBN approach plate. ILS or LOC RWY 01
@JeffX75 Many places, if I do an approach, I always post a link to that plate in the description so you guys don't have to go searching all over the place. In case you want others, there are 2 great places to get them from, for US you can go to on-final . com for others, most of them can be found at: fscharts . com
@FSX404 haha sorry man. The year is ending soon I'm doing my last trolls ;) I love your videos by the way, really. I'm so waiting for that NGX form PMDG to do all this perfectly.
@FF35PiloThey are not meant to be exciting, when you have flown for 15 hours non-stop from Australia, the last thing you want as a pilot is an exciting approach. Exciting is something cool in the simulator, in real life exciting=dangerous. Even landing at Catalina for real gets my heartbeat going because I have no "reset flight" button and those cliffs and winds are pretty real, LOL
@benfalas Alright, first you claim Gibraltar as Spanish, and I let you slide there, now you are claiming Los Angeles to be Spanish, and I'll have to draw the line here, not everything in this world is Spanish, stop behaving like Brit, LOL

Thanks for the comment.
Scenery is the Southern California Mega Scenery fr FS2004. The night lights come with it.

Wish all of my landings were this nice. Good job

nice man :D do a landing in helsinki vantaa with winter scenery to please a viewer form finland :)
And a good cheapish addon for moving your head around easily is Active Camera or DBS Walk and Follow
Sorry, my bad, it was late when I read the comment.
Cheers mate :)
All of the ILS LOC approaches into LAX are boring... fly straight in. Same as the Sim ATC vectoring -.-
SADDE6!!! :D
NOOOIIIIIIIICCCCCEEEEEE :)
KLAX STADIUM IS SPAIN!!!
