    622 and 613 under 6000 rpm, on the street who needs more? No overheating, no boost leaks or ice buckets or expensive turbos, etc. This is a win win

      That is the entry level hp to be competitive on the street... I'm riding around at that level and barely keeping up with most guys.

      @@picklefart at $75 a bottle these days for nitrous, i would opt for the turbo myself. But no matter what more is better!!

      @@justinb1488 It would take quite a few bottles to equal the price of a quality turbo kit, fuel system and tuning. A 250 shot with a progressive would be nuts on this combo.

      @@justinb1488 Your take is 100% correct. I thought about this and came to the same conclusion. Plus I'd rather have 300 hp in boost vs nitrous, it's just easier on the engine. And I priced out a nice nitrous kit and for the nice stuff you end up having like 2k in a kit.

      I'm into Motorcycle's two stroke 4 stroke like em all my son has autism when he was younger he was getting into the bikes with me I built 82 YZ 490 pretty stout I was showing it to my friends he was in the house once he heard it he come running out ask to go for a ride I had him ridding pw 80 stuff like that. So I said go get your helmet. I went to get mine my wife overheard my friends talking how bad ass this bike was. He had his helmet in his hands. Wife said come here whispered something in his ear. He wouldn't get on the bike with me never road with me again. Broke my heart. Bitch. I do 2nd gear snap wheeles for 150 feet set it down go around the corner of my flat track snap another one down the back straight. He squeel like a pig he say do it again dad.

    Steve should design and build his own CNC ported heads for the BB chev, SB chev, LS as well as BB and SB Ford engines and release a head and cam package for all of the people who can't afford the awesome engines he had already designed. I think he would make a lot of cash with these packages. Just a thought. Awesome video BTW.

      I don't know if I'm just in a different world, but I completely fail to see how a new cast iron block is not budget friendly. Why are LS guys so cheap?
      Junkyard crap is not budget friendly, it's a totally different scene.

All you have to do is go to the various racetracks and see what people run. Racing is expensive and many people seem to find the finances to go fast these days.

    I just built one similar to that for my regular cab Silverado. It’s got Mamo 205 heads, ported TBSS intake and a 226/230 grind in it. It’s a daily driver so I didn’t want anything to wild. This motor has crazy throttle response and low end torque. Lots of fun on the street!!

      I wasn't a LS fan until I bought a car with one in it and that was about 8 years ago. I wasn't against the ls at the time I just didn't know much about the engine. I agree 100% with the bang for the buck deal because it's an addiction.

      I agree. I am a fan of the LS, but they are in EVERYTHING these days. It's getting to the point where, if someone is running something other than an LS, it almost seems exotic.

    If I find a 6.0 block cheap enough this is the route I’m going. Built a 5.3 for turbo but not really trying to do that anymore

    Making power in the LS is just too easy. This is a great build. The 613 ft-lbs shows the efficiency of the combo. Anything over 600 ft-lb out of 400-408ci is pretty damn good. If it was making 550ft-lb or so i'd be trying to figure out what is wrong.

    How streetable is that cam? Was that a radical profile? I am interested in a +400cuin LS engine but would prefer a almost stock idle. With that in mind, how close can you get to that 600hp600tq?

      I mean, id be interested in a proven SM heads/cam LS package or a "budget" short/long block but, the market is flooded with those already from enough places. The SM name alone would definitely sell them for sure.
      SM has their own niche and will most likely stick to that.
