Hi Dustin. Loved the video!! Absolutely do more of these!! Gorgeous scenery. Funny, I was thinking about you today, wondering when you were going to drop a new video. Thanks for bringing us along!!😊😊😊
Very high probability your "really deep hole" was a hand dug well at one time. Deep enough to get into a shallow aquifer instead of just acting as a basin for near surface ground water... It had a frame built above it that from the design likely once held a pulley to haul up buckets of water... Upon decommissioning (probably) it had the grate added to prevent explorers from falling in. I would be surprised if it was not a former well. (and a few minutes later you state the same conclusion... no splash... could be due to low water level, or could be due to dumping in dirt to a point above the water line to fill in the well and reduce potential contamination of the aquifer.)
For just a second, I thought you were hiking in the high desert mountains of Southern California where I grew up. The similarities are striking! Thanks for sharing your adventure with me. And hello to Amber! 🐕❤️🌲🐿️
the spiders in the trees look like "Macrothelidae (Large spinnerets spider)" and the one you came across while going back to your pick up point looks like a "Lycosidae (Wolf spiders)" great vid i feel you on the mountain climbs, i took my son with me to do one afew years back he would of been 8yr old then he loved it and had loads of energy happy camping bro
Super cool video with beautiful scenery, but those spiders gave me the heebeejeebees! I wouldn’t have slept a wink. Hahahaha. I am happy for you doing what you love best…being outdoors. Take care, stay well.
All those beetles around are in all likelihood, pine borers of some kind. If you saw lots of small holes in the pine trees, that's where their larva emerged. They can cause lots of damage to ornamental pines, so good job making sure none hitchhiked back home.
A bit of wild Rosemary along the way and thyme? (insert Scarboro Faire jokes here) I would definitely harvested enough to last me a few days... It would make a great addition to most dishes, and especially any as yet unbaked bread "fixins" I might be carrying. How did that old slogan of yours go? "Cookin good in the woods"? Yup... that would have upped the cooking game for a camp trip. I always travel with a set of forage identification books just to verify my finds. So many good foodstuffs out there to be found. (except apparently Morel mushrooms which apparently do not like me (just a rant from a conversation with a friend during our last hunting trip a week and a half ago. He was talking about in his youth, he and a collage buddy made their spending money finding and selling morels by the bushel to restaurants... meanwhile I have found 3 (not three times, three individual morels) in the wild in the last 30 years. He may be a good friend, but oh how I "hate" him at the moment. ))
Thanks for the comment - I once had morels growing amongst a pile of old logs and bark at bottom of my garden. First and last time I will probably ever find a morel.
Your unidentified bug looked a lot like a pine sawyer beetle. I did not get a good look at your spider, but it looked a bit like a Spanish Funnel Spider (also called the gibralter funnel web spider) (not considered to be especially dangerous) but I did not think they used holes in trees as nest/web locations.
You did some desert camping and hiking, but didn't make it southern Utah with Zion national Park the grand staircase, Kolob Canyon and the Grand Canyon (my neck of the woods/ desert). I just got back from three weeks in the UK while you were away. Maybe next time You're welcome at my fire anytime
It is a good thing you do not have as many venomous snakes as we do here in the states... So many hidey holes that would have a high probability of containing a rattler or copperhead here in the states that you just casually step next to.
Cuenca, Spain? (there is a location by about the same name in Mexico, but I think they call it Sierra La Madera instead of Sierra De La Medera in Mexico.) Looks like lovely country... as they say "Nice place to visit, but I would not want to live there" It has been a while since youtube has told me you put out a new video... I am going to have to go back and see how many I have missed along the way. I do miss your live streams man. hope to see ye again some time.
Ye just showed sign of hog rooting in your area... Did you see any hoof prints? Any scat? Now I impatiently watch to see if there where any hog sightings in the last 10 minutes of video to see if I need to be jealous or not. Here in Tennessee (and much of the US) they are an invasive and destructive species. I had an unsuccessful deer hunt about 3 weeks ago in a part of Tennessee that has hog problems, but while I could hear them with my amplified hearing protection, and I saw some hoof prints in the roadside sand, I never saw them. As for that inflatable pad you are using... This time of year, there is no way that would have worked around here... Bottom quilts are essential this time of year.
Do you want to see more of these 'adventure / camping' videos? Feedback needed! Thanks folks 👍
YES--do more camping/hiking videos. Maybe one in Denmark or Sweden.

Just the kind of thing i needed this Tuesday.
Thanks for watching... and commenting :-)
First year mullein. Next year, they get tall and flower.
9:38 That plant is a Stachys byzantina ( Lamb’s ears ) 😂😂❤
OK thanks, It kind of looked like sage...just had no smell!
@@BUSHCRAFTTOOLSIt says the young new leaves are edible..and the plant has many medicinal properties.
Where was this filmed?
Marcona almonds being grown primarily in Spain and the fact that a UK bloke can hop on a plane two hours after pick up screams Spain to me! 😂
New type of content bro love it! 😊
Thanks Aaron
alicante, nice :-D

Heyy hi, thank for video, i am glad and apreciate
Thank you too
Hi dear. I'm always waiting for your new video
Thanks
In Canada that's a pine beetle, distructive to trees & when they bite you can get a stitch or two, nasty critters LOL !!!

How were the Snakes ¿? If you were in the Land Down Under,..... You may have Scorpions and Bird Eating Spiders too.
LOL

No coconuts?
Not this time bro
@@BUSHCRAFTTOOLSAlmonds don't hurt as much.
Wrong season to poach almonds
Thiught so!! @@bbranett2188
Once the nuts fall off of the tree, they're "Amonds." It scares the L out of them when they hit the ground.
haha... very good :-)
The plant is lambs ear , edible

OG Legend!
Lambs ear. Related to sage.
Ahh..that explains it! Thanks
I think the first tree was a macadamia
Is the plant Rabbit Ears? Or Lambs ear.
Quite possibly - another viewer mentioned that same plant
Look up lamb's ears. Maybe it is related?
👍
Merci Cedric
Where were u ..what country
Pyrenees Mountains Spain/France
@bbranett2188 thanks for the reply 😊
Was it a Gibraltar Funnel web spider Dustin?
6:49 Thats a carob tree

What hammock and tarp did you use?
I think it's a DD
oh gosh darn he just may miss his flight what a shame....
lol'z
Where is this again?
Are you in truffle country?
Out without a knife???? Duhhh...
I don't favor mountaineering videos that feature deep drops and narrow paths. This weather did not even allow for a cheering fire and so on.
