JP ist schon begeistert wenn er damit über eine Bordsteinkante fährt. Verfolge euch schon lange macht weiter so!
Hey Andre@tfltruck! Y'all should do another video of both trucks doing a desert race but show the actual speeds of the trucks! Or go to death valley and do a 1 mile/ 1/4 mile drag race in the desert
If anything, this video just emphasizes how brilliant the Raptor is. Its more nimble and just seems more capable in the rough stuff. The V8 engine is the only reason why the two chose the TRX. On ability, looks like the Raptor still has it. It seemed more confident in the high speed runs as well.
I am a diehard ford truck fan and have been a very long time I've had great trouble free luck with them that being said it looks like ram has really improved to the point I would definitely consider one for my next purchase. @@brokenwrench404 so I'm guessing your a ford guy but I never hear complaints about the v10 ford had which everyone praised but gets 9mpg 🤷 why complain now 🤔
Was there a reason you only talked about the Raptors rear fender clearance issue and didn’t really show it visibly? Was it cut for a reason? I saw it on one side but we didn’t get to see you on the other discussing the rubbing issue?
The simplest explanation of a Torsen is that it's a limited locking device. i.e. within a certain torque split range, it acts as locked. if I had to guess, I would say it's 2.1-2.5:1 Torque bias ratio, meaning a locking effect of around 40%, so if the torque difference is no greater than 40% between wheels, the differential acts locked through friction on specially designed gears that bind up against the housing. Another way to put it would be that the front axle can bias torque 70/30 to the left or 30/70 to the right, to the limit of traction on the good wheel. With an open diff, it's always 1:1, or 50/50. I know that's usually how people talk about locked diffs, but that's not accurate, a locked diff is 100/0. An open diff will always split torque evenly. That's not engine torque mind you, that's the torque the ground can deal with, or resistive torque. That's why a wheel in the air with an open diff spins and the other on the ground doesn't. Air offers no resistive torque so that's all the other side gets...just as much torque as it takes to spin a wheel in free air. 1:1. 50/50. In a Torsen, the wheel in the air would still spin freely because you are outside the locking range of the diff and where it allows for differential action. Torsens are great because they offer virtually no reaction lag, are completely passive and allow for great streetability and predictable high-speed characteristics while dramatically increasing traction in their locking range. It's a solid 1 up for the Ford.
These aren't professional drivers on closed courses, it's Roman just giving it a little gas like most people would do. He didn't roll anything and he had the time of his life, what are you mad about?
@69Mach I CJ Even? Yeah, sure bud. The Raptor rubs the tires on the fenders every time they test it. Not to mention grinding the foot rails. The TRX has more power, coil springs, and a rear axle dampener that attaches to the diff housing. The TRX has more suspension travel. The only thing the Raptor did well was the hill climb due to visibility. Even THAT was a stretch because they refused to buy the camera package (TRX) that the Raptor has. Not to mention the Raptor interior is ass. Sounds like shit too but that's my opinion. Just rewind and watch the reaction during the dune run. Its obvious which truck was more fun to drive.
Articulation test was a wash. Hill climb was a win for the Raptor since Roman couldn't see what he was doing. Desert running was a win for the Raptor since it's more nimble and handled better. Drag race was a win for the Raptor because it had the better crawl ratio. But which one would Tommy and Roman have? The worse one because V8 MURICA POWER! 🤣
Ford: Enough of the Eco-boost. It was cute, we get it. But now Ram has shown what happens when you put boost in a real engine. Why not a Roots or Twin-screw 6.2 or 7.3?
@@scottythebody0811 f150 also 2021 can be bought with a coyote engine 5.0 but even that I love v8 I need to admit these EcoBoost engines are amazing not to replace the v8 but as an option for power with better gas mileage, I own I Focus RS and an escape both with EcoBoost and I'm so surprised how the escape with a 1.5L 3 cylinder EcoBoost gives me 181HP and 177LB of torque compare to my daughter Mirage 1.5L 3 cylinder also that only produce 78HP or my sister 4 cylinder Mitsubishi outlander sport with a 4 cylinder 2.4L with 168HP so that show that this EcoBoost is amazing budget engines, my Focus RS is 350HP but with a few mods that I did is now 450HP (398 to the Wheels) but again I'm not saying EcoBoost is better I'm just saying they have a place in this world even if they don't sound like a monster engine will sound because at the end I don't run with the sound I run with the performance the engine and the car give me. I've been watching your channel for a long time, and have watched multiple vids. I think Ram is doing a great job with there trucks, but when ever the edge go's to them Roman is ecstatic ( rubbing steps) but not so much on the front facing camara, and don't get me started on the crawl control VS paddle shifters!!! It's starting to remind me of Milwaukee tool salesman posing as TH-cam channels VS Dewalt, I've had to unsubscribe from all of those. Also as I've said many times Take It To The 1000 and let's see how it does as a complete build.
I thought it was strange that you said the TRX won the test on the suspension travel because the Raptor kept all tires on the ground and the TRX didn't.
No joke thats the whole point. Thats why I said it was strange that they said the TRX won, the Raptor is what kept its tires on the ground not the TRX. As far as hitting in the center that's the difference between running boards and no running boards.
In the end it's evident to all but the very slowest of society that the TRX is a sad imitation with little to offer and that's why its horsepower is all that is talked about. The Raptor not only has a SUPERIOR suspension setup, but its offroad programs are better too.
i think you meant to say same they literally have the same setups and programs only ram has a custom mode while you may not like a V8 engine sound many do prefer raw power rather than a twin turbo engine could it be better? sure but in terms of performance both do the same job except as was shown the coils did better than the leaf's
A “Toreson differential” is essentially a limited slip differential but operated purely by gears rather than internal clutch plates. It means it has mechanical tire traction rather than electronic tire traction.

The content is great, the reviews are honest, thank you for keeping a socially distanced audience sane!
I love that u guys put these trucks to the test that you do and u still respect them. My question is what do u think about these channels that have bought the TRX and destroyed it?
Boy, the undercarriage shots on the high-speed section really show off the benefits of 5 link. You can see how much better the axle is located on the TRX versus the Raptor which starts to experience axle windup, especially along the long axes. I don't know if you can feel it, but the video shows it. I guess the raptor has the advantage of no sagitta because it doesn't have a panhard rod so the axle doesn't shift left to right as it cycles up and down. Pros and cons.
When you down one because of the visibility going up a hill, you should also show the visibility from the other. Not from a front-mounted camera, but the true visibility out the windshield, because anyone can add a front-mounted camera.

@@Enchanted3DPrints What's unreliable about it then if you're such an expert on the subject? Engine has decent reliability ratings for having 700 hp. The ZF 8 speed is bulletproof, and even Toyota uses it. Fiat is ranked number 1 for reliability in Europe. Get your head out of your ass.
@@Enchanted3DPrints you obviously have no clue what your talking about and buddy up there talking about reliability but has a BMW M4 as a prof pic 😂 which has to be the brand that has the most reliability issues
Love the dynamic between you guys. Pretty entertaining, keep it up!
Great video TFL!!! Love seeing you guys asking and talking about the questions we would all have about the trucks and exposing details. I love the data you’re able to present, not from guessing but from real information you’ve received from the engineers. As a daily I still have oils go Raptor. The operation costs would be much lower than TRX. Hopefully I have my ducks in a row I’d consider buying the Raptor in a year! It would tow my blue GT350. Going for that RED WHITE AND BLUE setup!!
Verfolge euch schon lange macht weiter so!
Hey Andre@tfltruck! Y'all should do another video of both trucks doing a desert race but show the actual speeds of the trucks! Or go to death valley and do a 1 mile/ 1/4 mile drag race in the desert
HANDS DOWN best channel on TH-cam.💪💪💪💪. “LOVE the content, the personalities. Thank you.
If anything, this video just emphasizes how brilliant the Raptor is. Its more nimble and just seems more capable in the rough stuff. The V8 engine is the only reason why the two chose the TRX. On ability, looks like the Raptor still has it. It seemed more confident in the high speed runs as well.
Good stuff! My Saturday morning wake up content has been satisfied. :)
I absolutely love the TRX and I'll just pay the price for the mpg lol
If you can afford the truck, the gas shouldn't be an issue
Also, the first channel not to destroy their TRX!
Out of curiosity, which one had the more comfortable ride when you were doing the high speed off roading?
Excellent video Gents! Both trucks are beast!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video! Slowest drag race was awesome! Raptor all day, carving the dessert with blade is way better then a hammer.
I had such a big smile on my face when you went Baja mode. I'm jealous.
I’d like to see a technical desert race between both.
Baja 1000
Love the lightheartedness of your videos, especially this one.
This is the video I've been waiting on since y'all bought a Raptor and TRX. I'd still take the Raptor tho.
I am a diehard ford truck fan and have been a very long time I've had great trouble free luck with them that being said it looks like ram has really improved to the point I would definitely consider one for my next purchase. I am thrilled that the raptor will have to improve to be the top truck. Thank you T F L for all you do! I also bought my last truck based solely on your videos and still love my truck.
Outstanding video fellas 👏
You watched it in less than a minute? 😂
😆😂
“Drone down!” was the surprise, besides that last crawl test. 😳
As my German teacher said - When 'I' and 'E' go walkin', the second one does the talkin'. Why he decided to put it like this, I'll never know.
Maybe Bilstein is an exception like weiner.
Great intro bassline
V8 FTW!
V8 for the gas 😂
12mpg isn’t winning anything! And that’s at highway speeds. It’s probably 7mpg in crawl mode
@@brokenwrench404 so I'm guessing your a ford guy but I never hear complaints about the v10 ford had which everyone praised but gets 9mpg 🤷 why complain now 🤔
@@dor1tomcswagger69 i never even knew Ford had a V10.
@@burgerbandit3646 for their HDs only truck I drove where the gas light comes on at half a tank 😂
The TReX eating the Raptor was funny. Shots fired.
Was there a reason you only talked about the Raptors rear fender clearance issue and didn’t really show it visibly? Was it cut for a reason? I saw it on one side but we didn’t get to see you on the other discussing the rubbing issue?
probably happens alot when you add 500lbs to the bed with that ugly camper thing.
@@enigma9789 Doesn't matter. It shouldn't happen, and that probably doesn't even weigh 200lbs.
That was a lousy test of "desert running" Neither trucks used half their suspension. I've simulated desert running better in a Starbucks parking lot
Definitely not " running ".
These aren't professional drivers on closed courses, it's Roman just giving it a little gas like most people would do. He didn't roll anything and he had the time of his life, what are you mad about?
Dude!! That high speed section was gnarly! You had to be approaching double digit speed there for a second.
When are y’all going to take that dorky looking bed cover off the Raptor? Or do y’all feel you have to ugly it up so the TRX looks better?
Someone got their feelings heart. That T-rex eats the Raptor in everyway.
TRX will be garbage in less than 5 yrs
@@B_EIMON you bet lmao
@@PyroBlonde7777 it's POS Fiat enough said
Articulation test was a wash.
I love the TRX so much I’m going to wait a few years to let used ones get in to the market for maybe like 15 grand less.
Just wait a year or so when gasoline is back up to $4.00+ gallon.
Smarticus exactly! It will be even higher in a few years as we stop drilling and have to import oil again
You guys are the best! I love the banter. Keep making great videos
Raptor for me - light is right, and the price difference is substantially in favour of the Raptor. Plus, it looks incredible and better than the TRX.
Nice comment bro. Hope she sees it.
Yeah. Nothing beats that V8 sound!! That TRX is a beast!!
Roman, auf Deutcsh, ein lastwagon is a truck. Ich can auch deutsche sprechen. This was very entertaining to watch.👍🇨🇦
psst, it is Lastwagen.
Kudos on the filming and the production value. The audio and the visual quality was awesome. Give the production guys a cold one they derserve it.
Lol imagine paying well over 50k and getting leaf springs on a BAJA TRUCK
or a v6....
TRX 100% of the time. Looks better outside. Luxury inside. More power.
Ford: Enough of the Eco-boost. It was cute, we get it. But now Ram has shown what happens when you put boost in a real engine. Why not a Roots or Twin-screw 6.2 or 7.3?
2022 raptor has a v8 option
@@blakehyslop2605
It’s about damn time. I hope they offer it in the F150 too.
"The new 2021 Ford F-150 has a host of changes including a new hybrid system, on-board generator (no, it’s not just an inverter) and, what seemed to be, only one change to the 5.0-liter V-8 Coyote engine, which is a slight bump in horsepower and torque."
Ford is years ahead of fiat. They know what customers want. A fully capable off-road truck but with good fuel economy and some what affordable. Most these trucks will be payment driven and they know that. Trx Is badass but won't outsell the raptor.
@@AlexMontalvogaming101
I have a 2019 F150 with the 5.0. My point is that if equal boost was applied to a V8, there’d be no comparison
Absolutely love your videos. I pointed my Raptor up Baby Lion and saw nothing but sky. My pucker factor wasn’t up to it. I used to think Hugh Hefner was the man, but I’m reconsidering.
5:15 anyone notice the mileage lol?
I have been waiting this video for ages.
I've been watching your channel for a long time, and have watched multiple vids. For me Roman's dislike for Ford is really starting to be a problem, I watched Ram coddle you guys since they unveiled that prototype years ago and then Ford gave you a time out/ spanking.
@@hahaadventures4838 Sweet!!!! Lol. Well said. 👍👍 Ram 1️⃣
It’s their review therefore they can have an opinion on which they like.
The Raptor actually performed better, even the articulation test
Thank you for not destroying yours!
I thought it was strange that you said the TRX won the test on the suspension travel because the Raptor kept all tires on the ground and the TRX didn't.
Since when is it a bad thing to keep the tires on the ground? That’s the whole point of long travel suspension
Haha leave it to the "Ford Guy" 👦 to defend the v6'er. I think he was referring to not clearing the center over the obstacle.
No joke thats the whole point. Thats why I said it was strange that they said the TRX won, the Raptor is what kept its tires on the ground not the TRX. As far as hitting in the center that's the difference between running boards and no running boards.
@@fordguy3277 Yeah I get your point just having fun. Both are nice trucks.
Hand down best reviewers of all time! Informative, engaging, and just absolutely a pleasure to watch.
In the end it's evident to all but the very slowest of society that the TRX is a sad imitation with little to offer and that's why its horsepower is all that is talked about. The Raptor not only has a SUPERIOR suspension setup, but its offroad programs are better too.
The trx only won every race. 🙄
i think you meant to say same they literally have the same setups and programs only ram has a custom mode while you may not like a V8 engine sound many do prefer raw power rather than a twin turbo engine could it be better? sure but in terms of performance both do the same job except as was shown the coils did better than the leaf's
@@saliston the TRX won a race? ... what's that: fastest to rust? fastest to a dead transmission? fastest to break-down?

A “Toreson differential” is essentially a limited slip differential but operated purely by gears rather than internal clutch plates. It means it has mechanical tire traction rather than electronic tire traction.
love to hear those exhausts and engines' sound

1. Drink every time Roman points out the T-Rex eating a Raptor.
2. Drink every time Roman complains about augmented noise in the Raptor.
3. Drink every time Roman says the T-rex is still breaking in and mileage will improve.
4. Drink every time ALL of them complain about red painted tow hooks.
06:20 The wide angle mode on the GoPro (?) really makes it hard to see the actual articulation because of the image stretching, but at 06:30 the other camera that is not wide angle really showed it big time.
What a great video guys, really impressive off road abilities by the TRX, I am surprised.
So let me get this straight if you spend $80K+++ you get an amazing/capable truck? Shocking result. Fun video, sadly these are just dream machines for some of us. Who else is hoping there will be a flood of good used raptors getting traded on TRXs soon?
The TRX does come with a front camera too depending on the configuration.

I would like to see you guys bring these trucks and maybe the Gladiator Mojave, down to the Hurricane, UT area to do some sand and dune testing. Moab is great, but like you pointed out in this video, it is not the ideal environment to really showcase this vehicle type. The Hurricane area is relatively close, a tad warmer so less chance of snow, and it is the terrain these trucks were designed for. Maybe even do a crossover vid with Matt's offroad, or not, your call. I love your reviews and your channel. The content is great, the reviews are honest, thank you for keeping a socially distanced audience sane!
I love that u guys put these trucks to the test that you do and u still respect them. My question is what do u think about these channels that have bought the TRX and destroyed it?
Too much money! Too much Fame! Too much hubris and too much shame!
@@TFLoffroad completely agree. Ty for your reply. Keep up the great work on ur channel.
Lmao tommy callin dad out for what we were all thinking
