Can I just go on record right now and say Aaron is a GENIUS!! Who thinks of all the things he does? How nice to have someone who plans ahead like this!!!
My husband and I are building a new house. There will be conduit everywhere, thanks to your videos! I'm so glad Aaron talks about it because I never would have thought of it either! I'm even bringing irrigation and extra conduit into the middle part of the driveway near the garage so I can get water to a planter with out fuss. Thanks Aaron!
Just finished a 4.5 reno of our 1938 home with a 1980 addition (bright gold bathroom hardware 😬) and, boy, could I slam a huge list of requirements for a new build that I never would’ve thought of before! Lol For instance, 3k sq ft on 1.5 acres and it had ONE faucet at the end of the house . duh So one of the improvements was adding a frost-free on the other end plus 100’ accordion hoses so I can reach every corner of our upper yard. Kudos planning for your yard from the very beginning!!
I actually laughed out loud when Douglas had to get in the shot at the end! He saw you admiring those regal deer and thought he fit right in. 😄 Everything looks so beautiful. You are inspiring me to get started with my decorations.
Using branches in this manner is one of the cool things I learned from Laura. And she has such an eye for beautiful things that I’ve been able to pick up on. Thanks, Girl!
I have an amaryllis blooming in my non heated greenhouse right now. I actually love them to bloom in Jan through March. After the sparkle of Christmas, the blooms help bring that spark of color and life during the winter.
I’ve never grown amaryllis but keep a half-dozen Christmas cactus for that very reason - so happy in the dreary gray of Jan-Feb! I’ve got a brilliant pink one blooming right now, so it thinks it’s a thanksgiving cactus… 😂
I completely understand Aaron's conduit joy. When forward thinking on the front end pays off down the road it is always good to pat yourself on the back.
The deer 🦌 🦌 looks perfect there! Can not wait for the tour. Love the sneak peak of the colored lights. The flowers 🌺 are going to be so beautiful in bloom. If you need any technical advice ask Aaron, he can conduit!
My neighbor here in Baton Rouge LA has an entire garden of Amaryllis. It gets full afternoon sun (100 degree temps in summer) and our winters might get 3 -5weeks of 30 degrees. And amazingly they bloom every spring and its glorious!
Your hard work makes this property spectacular! ❤ Your enduring legacy will forever live through the years and bring peace, comfort, and joy to future generations. God has blessed you and your family. ❤
What a beautiful way to do the amaryllis i bought my mom one every year for Christmas till her death lost all them after i had surgery and had a reaction iost 17 now i want to get more I want to restart so I will honor my mom
You guys are surely putting me in holiday mode!! For years, I’ve wished for a source for quality lighted deer sculptures. Would you mind sharing your source? Thanks in advance!💚❤️🤍
loved the editing with the dust blowing off the box and then Laura pushed the box along the way - it connected the whole process together. very fun! loved it.
Great job, Aaron, on the planning! I understand how that feels: when you are programming and designing it in a particular way for future proofing, and then the future comes, and you have to add a new feature, and it was a short and simple addition. Planning and future-proofing can make any job simple.
Laura and Aaron, just wanted to let you both know that what you do brings the spirit to others. I was thinking of skipping putting up my decorations this year because many of my friends will be away and I don't think I will have many guests. But just the enjoyment I get from watching you all put yours up has made me realize how important it is TO ME! For me to have festivity going into these darker days, especially here where it is dark at 5pm in Canada already.
I have been gifted amaryllis the last several years from my godmother (and I just turned 65!). I stored them each year and then bring them back out for the season. Worked every time so far (zone 5b outside Chicago). We recently moved to zone 10 SWFL and I am planning to plant them outside next week. 🤞🙏 I have been told they will grow all year here. Hoping that all 9 make for a pretty show soon.
Aaaw you’ve got a Claus Dalby book on the table in front of the window 🥰 Made me smile to see a bit of danish in your beautiful home ❤️😍🤍🙏 Another wonderful and inspirational video, thank you 🙏
Aaron and his "YESSSSS" moment with the conduit!! Sooo cute!!! Tip on your conduit stings.... use different colors of paracord for each tube .... easy to tell which one is which and will be resistant to moisture etc.
Laura you never cease to amaze me !! Love how you potted up the amaryllis with the moss and branches. Those pussy Willow branches are sooo beautiful ! Perfect spot for the deer. You and Aaron work so well together so complimentary. Love you all !! Hope you all have a great day. 😊😊
Love the joy that great planning gives to Aaron, and working lights gives to Laura. Can totally relate to both! I love the blue and white bowl!! I like the yellow branches but I think the color of the pussy willows would be beautiful with the white flowers when they bloom.
This year, just a suggestion, tie the string to a ziptie that has a label that says where the string leads to. I used to do this with wires and cables when i worked in IT before I retired. It makes life so much easier when you need to come back months or years later to do work.
Oh my goodness, you have a Claus Dalby book! Hvid jul. That makes me so happy to see, as a fellow dane. QA-related: I would love to hear about your garden book recommendations.
I’m so inspired!! ❤❤❤ Love the way you arrange your tables adding the books and candles etc. 😊 Makes you want to light the candle and sit down and read 😊😊😊 I need a much larger Amaryllis budget than I currently have!!! I usually go for the $6 bulbs at Walmart, for Christmas gifts, 🎁 and found that my family always sends me a picture of them when they’re blooming. Unfortunately last year I didn’t get one for myself!! 😢
Soooo excited to see the lights . Just the day before this video I was looking at past videos 'while cooking ' of you putting up the deers🦌 and the tree🌲🌲 on the balcony in past videos. So timely. I always go look at past videos so much fun. Cause you see stuff you forgot about or things removed you thought you'd miss but don't. 😊
Oh my goodness that pot and white amaryllis will be so perfect with the blue tree. I just got a pink, double white, and red they are amazing to see grow. I bet the kids will enjoy seeing how much they grow each day. I also got paperwhites they are so dainty.
I swear - I learn so much from you guys not only about gardening but the infrastructure that supports it. Thank you Aaron! Never, ever have I pulled an extension cord thru conduit. That was all news to me! Very cool tho - Thanks to you guys I did plan for irrigation pipe to be housed inside my brick columns that flank our front walk. Gorgeous Unique Stone planters now sit on top. Had to also drill holes in the limestone caps. Builder was scratching his head haha. Details make all the difference - No black tubing is visible. Thanks for everything!
I love amaryllises! The big ones are "jumbo" (over 34 cm circumference when harvested), and if they get over 40 cm I've seen the term "colossal." With cache pots, I usually try to find a plastic nursery pot that fits inside. That way I can drain out excess water if I get carried away!
It was a good call, the 9 footer! How do you secure such a large tree from the high winds? You and Aaron make such a great team! Certainly decorating IS a process! 😊
Will you be doing a video showing all of your Christmas trees in your house? We watched the video showing your mom’s trees and we really enjoyed that one.
🍂 Hi Laura and Aaron, The amaryllis are going to look stunning, Great job on the electric cord Aaron, ohhhh the deer and the tree looks great, can't wait for the Christmas Tree Light Tour puts me in the mood for the Holidays. Thank you for sharing, have a great rest of the day. 🍂 😊 👋 🌲
Love the Amarillo bulbs they look beautiful where you put them so formal. Yeah Aaron good job on the lights you are Amazing. Oh Laura the lights are perfect from the deers to the tree on the balcony just beautiful good job
Gol, how smart of Aaron to do that! And when it was used, he was not crowing about thinking about it, just getting the use out of the cost. Amazing, Aaron!
Such festive projects today - getting me in the Christmas spirit and keen to start my own decorating. Aaron is the master of planning ahead - what a treasure he is!!!! And you have to find a way to get lights on Douglas and Russell so that they are part of the display. 🐈🐈⬛
I’ve always kinda been intimidated by amaryllis. I really loved the way you used the twigs to give some interest before they bloom. I’ll have to watch this again and also how to care for them, before I pull the trigger and really get one. Great tutorial. Thanks.
Aaron, many entities from non-profits to home builders and municipalities could benefit from you me ‘think ahead’ mentality - and not just in infrastructure but all areas of logistics! This is my favorite type of GA video as it has practical and helpful tips that everyone can learn from and utilize, whether homeowners or renters.
If you lose your string: hook a small plastic baggie with a little air to your string, shop vac the conduit from the other end and it will suck the bag and string through!
Haha! i used to slide my trees down the stairs, too. The kids thought it was great fun! So looking forward to the video of all the lights. What lucky neighbors you have to be able to see that spectacular display each night!!
Laura you should try to find a deer with his head down so you could put it close to the pond or stream area as if it’s enjoying a drink. That would be so pretty.
My denim GA hat arrived today.... why I love this hat .. the brim is bent perfectly .. the adjustment clip is great .. love the embroidery .. added joy was the pocket to hold the adjustment strip so it doesn't hang. Thank you❤❤
I make it a point to have my Amaryllis flower after Christmas because I have so much going on in my little house during the Christmas season as far as decor everywhere that I can much more appreciate their beauty in January and February, l love 💕them for valentine on my window sill when it is so bleak outside here in Massachusetts

Aaron’s moment to shine! His preplanning was worth it!! 😊 His coupon analogy was spot on. Laura and Aaron are such a great team!
Yep, Like a $5.00 coupon. Sweet.
Laura brought a smile to my face when she slid the box down the stairs. That’s exactly what I do to move heavy boxes. 🦃🍁💚🙃
😊 working smarter, not harder 😂 Love it
Teaching us something new every day! I can’t wait for the tour.
Works great with my heavy laundry basket to!
@@christinenovack6048 And there's the satisfying explosion of clothes when it hits the bottom! 😅
Me too!
I’m so grateful for the positive nature of this channel. It’s a joy to watch and learn from you! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and home with us! 😊
You are the most positive, upbeat person and what a motivating pleasure to start the day with. Thank You.
Y E S !!!
Aaron’s joy was infectious and I get the simple pleasure of success from thinking ahead! Great video
@gardeningonthewestforkwith8994 He reminds me of the song "Glow little glow worm, glimmer, glimmer."
He's a wonderful example of a man and husband.
I got a chuckle from the remnant of Laura’s foraging in her hair. 😂 ❤
Can I just go on record right now and say Aaron is a GENIUS!! Who thinks of all the things he does? How nice to have someone who plans ahead like this!!!
My brother is so much like that. My sister in law is so lucky!
Aaron's infrastructure for the win! More props for the editing.
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”. ❤❤
May we all get an Aaron and/or a Paul in our lives. 🙌
Yes, I would love a helpful husband!! Unfortunately mine is not.
Or to BE our own Aaron or Paul 💪🏽 😀 (always gleefully single and always get to do it MY way lol)
Or a Bethany or Laura! 😊
The nine foot tree is bright enough. Everything is so tastefully done. Just beautiful. ❤
Douglas with his Lion King moment
Aaron is a genius when it comes to preplanning and visionary thinking! Bravo to you, sir! 👏👏👏
I think his prior experience as a cable guy really contributes to his readiness!

Making sound effects while lifting heavy things is a very important part of the process 😂

Laura ingenuity with the tree box! Good job! And Aaron's forethought on the conduit, great job! Love this couple.
I completely understand Aaron's conduit joy. When forward thinking on the front end pays off down the road it is always good to pat yourself on the back.
You can always hang ornaments on the yellow twig dogwoods while you are waiting for the amaryllis ! 🥀
Good idea!!!
The deer 🦌 🦌 looks perfect there! Can not wait for the tour. Love the sneak peak of the colored lights.
The flowers 🌺 are going to be so beautiful in bloom.

The satisfying slide down the stairs.... I could watch that on repeat 😂
OMG Aaron cracks me UP!! "The joy a couponer gets" = I literally laughed out loud!!!!
Christmas lights are lovely. I love the space you have to organize your items - it makes so easy to access.
Oh! You have to take family portraits in front of the deer sitting on the rocks . Those would be magical!!!
The British have nothing on you my friend. Your Leaf Fascinator in the beginning was quite lovely 😊

Birch branches would look nice in the pots too
Those willow branches are beautiful! Thanks for explanating how the Amaryllis would grow through them Laura 😊

🙌🏻 for Aaron-such the consummate planner. 💪🏻 for Laura-lifting the 9 ft tree and getting it upstairs. Douglas is so statuesque 🐈⬛. 😊

Yes, nobody I know think’s like this. Aaron is so smart and no one conduit better than Aaron! Lol Hi Benjamin and Samantha Grace
If you lose your string: hook a small plastic baggie with a little air to your string, shop vac the conduit from the other end and it will suck the bag and string through!
Oh my ! Your home keeps evolving into an elegant and beautiful home ! Thanks for sharing!!!
Laura, I laughed so hard when you slid the box down the stairs. I can relate I do the same thing. 😂
Previous owner planted amaryllis in a shade part and they come back every year and bloom spring - north GA 7b/8a
Haha! i used to slide my trees down the stairs, too. The kids thought it was great fun! So looking forward to the video of all the lights. What lucky neighbors you have to be able to see that spectacular display each night!!
I am inspired now to go make a metal stag and wrap solar lights around it for out in the garden! :)
Laura you should try to find a deer with his head down so you could put it close to the pond or stream area as if it’s enjoying a drink. That would be so pretty.
NICE that Aaron had the forethought to put in 2" conduit for running things through. Makes life a whole lot easier! Vindication for him.
I need to step up my amaryllis game!
My denim GA hat arrived today.... why I love this hat
.. the brim is bent perfectly
.. the adjustment clip is great
.. love the embroidery
.. added joy was the pocket to hold the adjustment strip so it doesn't hang.
Thank you❤❤
OH my goodness!! That book "Timeless" by Patrick Ahearn is one of my clients!! What a small world. 🤩
