This is really helpful. I have a turntable plugged into my XDJ-RX and the channel volume indicator is much lower/quieter on the turntable's channel than that of the track from my USB. So, i've been turning the trim on the turntable's channel way up to match the digital track but it doesn't look like you had to do that. Any advice on what might be wrong?
rx2 has a preamp built in (can take a vinyl turntable directly?) i know the Denon prime 4 does thanks. Just chosing what to get as i want a combo of digital and vinyl. Also will the rx2 detect bpms of vinyl? Or have to do by ear with headphones? Thanks.
Amazing video. Very well said about when you pull everything apart the feature that matters the most is indeed master tempo or keylock not effects or hotcues. These are merely add-ons which increase the creativity 👍
Very good and clear tutorial. Can’t disagree with anything you say…. However I think the importance of mixing in key is somewhat overstated. Yes it does sound better, but back in the day, DJs often mixed across the keys and no one cares tooooo much. Especially if in the intro / outro , where the key is not as prominent
Hey love all the videos! I have an xdj-rx3 and I’m wondering if the Audio-Technica Direct-Drive Analog and USB Turntable AT-LP120X-USB will work with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can’t find anything online. Thank you!
Hi Jonathon, firstly you're an absolute legend!! Secondly I have a question that I would really like to know the answer too.. I'll do my best to explain - Say you have two vinyl records playing in matching keys when the are beat matched, would they still be harmonically matched together if you decreased or increased them at the same rate, obviously the key would alter in tone but would they remain complimenting throughout the pitch range? I hope what i'm asking makes some sense , my reasoning is if I find two records that jam well together, will that always be the case regardless of what speed the first record happens to be pitched at when I start my mix :) 100% agree about having master tempo these days Haha but nothing beats the satisfaction of the wheels of steel! Peace
Hi , Could anyone tell me how the vinyl sounds through the RX2 . Heard the pre amps on the first model were poor like their lower end mixers. Any feedback I’d be grateful . Thanks
Thanks for the video. I would appreciate if someone can provide the size of the width of the RX2. Pioneer reports a width of 44,38 cm. Knowing an SL1200 has a width around 36 cm I can see the side width (not including LCD screen) of the RX2 could be much less than 40 cm. This info will be crucial for my new booth arrangement. Thanks in advance! Keep it up!
Is this also possible with the RX3?

You might need a phono preamp for the turntable, as some don't have inbuilt preamps.
You can buy fairly cheap ones at around 50 euro

Hello! I have a XDJ RR at home. Can I plug in a vinyl? and if yes how? Thank you
Thanks for this. I just got one turntable and a CDJ serato set up, so this will help me.

Have you tried the Denon controller? You get the benefit of four channels without toggling.

Does the pioneer unit read the bpm of the vinyl ?
No
great channel....love the Hospital Sticker
Does it show the BPM of the vinyl on the controller itself?
Nah
you can tap it in though.
Can you use the mixers effects with a turntable hooked up? I was thinking about the ddj-800 but it doesn't
You can with RX1 and RX2
