    this guy is amazing he's giving you lessons on vinyl mixing , something not many other DJ channels really gives you to the detail he goes !! which is why you have Festival or some Pro club DJ's even stuck on 0% pitch on nexus players, because they don't have the core basics of vinyl & pitch by ear mixing to be able to adjust tempos , Don't be that DJ !

      @holdened 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does cdjs don't require any pitch or ear mixing at all?

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and what if you mixing by ear but not playing right music in the right time what? If you play the right music at the right time nobody cares do you play on vinyl or if you use sync etc.

    Straight away if you listen ( important): your hear that the right Deck ( B) he's mixing the record in from it's behind in pitch or tempo , so he needs to pitch up to the area his ear thinks it's around which sounds + 2.5% pitch near that area , you can fine adjust when your there , some skilled Dj's can do it super quick with platter techniques and pitch 🎧

    last few videos I saw your Technics stacked up, one in a case and the other deck just chucked on top with no case and lots of stuff sitting on top, was like how can you do that to a pair of 1200s , nice to see them set up again

    I just started DJing with the DVS system from vinyl in the beginning of 2020, and for me it's a totally different feeling. In my opinion the only pro to this digital realm, is convenience of having tracks that I don't have on vinyl. The rest are cons, and since there's too many to list, I'll just mention one of the many cons that's on my list which is, dealing with the whole rigmarole of looking for "one stop" shop mp3 pools that has literally every genre of music imaginable. To me, it's very important because, since not everybody listens to the four main genres of music of, RAP, R&B, REGGAE, and ELECTRONIC MUSIC. So with the plethora of music that's online, there shouldn't be any excuses of the mp3 pools should be so limited at all. Now going back to the topic at hand, with the DVS system that I'm using, I'm only playing on ABS mode, and even that doesn't feel authentic in my opinion. I don't look at the screen while I'm blending music, and I don't need the BPM counter because, those aren't accurate either so, I use my listening ear to match the music together. So to me, VINYL IS STILL FINAL!

      Vinyl may be old school but is still the best way to dj.

    • @FSwiftDJ
      @FSwiftDJ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@frankkeen8490 yes and more djs now are turning to it like Hannah Wants on mixmag recently , they want to prove they can do it old way with skill , Some DJ's and I will include myself there, they can instantly mix any tempo by ear with pitch on technics fast !! there are fast techniques but beginners just need the basics to start , phrase timing, pitch by ear etc

    • @frankkeen8490

      @@FSwiftDJ There is something about holding and handling 2 vinyl records and mixing them together perfectly that the crowd doesn't realize a new song is playing. Sounds like you are a very informed and skilled dj. Always remember to keep your crowd happy and wanting more but never forget for you to have fun and enjoy what your doing. Stay Blessed my friend and always appreciate those perfect mixes.

    Is 1% equal to one bpm and does the single line represent 1% how big are the increments alllocated on the pitch rider.

  • @clumpft
    @clumpft 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All I want to mix is old school funk and soul 7" vinyl. Given that funk varies wildly in BPM, do I just need to acquire enough tunes to be in the BPM ball park so to speak to be able to beatmatch? Does it really matter if tunes aren't in the same key? I'm mixing with Technics 1210 MK3D's, so 8% more or less pitch. Love your work btw!

    • @mrswitch1
      @mrswitch1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You will not be able to beatmatch funk and soul the way shown in the video, because it is played by humans mostly, so the bpm vary too much. If you are lucky some funk from the 80s has drummachine-beats. One workaround is looping a section, the other thing is droping in a track at the right place, like hip-hop DJs do.

    Thanks for the video tips. Does anyone know a pro DJ turntable that can also key lock, and keep the musical data in some type of buffer?

    • @sunderjirahim
      @sunderjirahim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Turntables are analog, therefore without a computer to do key lock, there is no way you can keep the key locked when you use the pitch slider.
