    They come in various names:
    Putt Putt Boat,Pop-pop Boat, Hot air Boat,Flash- steamer,Poof Poof craft, Phut-Phut, or even Pouet-Pouet in some parts of the world.
    These are really easy to make as there are no moving parts and the boat can be powered with a small candle.
    This video is comprehensive, in a sense that I have made 5 popular models and tested them out, and given you my results.(..I am saying my results because this is what I found with the boats I made. Your experience might be different)
    So go ahead, make your put -put boat and share your experience.
    This is the best explanation I found Online recently on how Put Put Boats work

    Amazing your choice of video uploads. Also your presentation skills are just getting so good and flawless.

      Nostalgia isn't it? I too travel back to in time when I play with it. Thanks for the comment Rahul. Of course, it will be possible to make video on what you expect. Just that this period is not conducive. Plus my landlord doesn't allow such thing. I will try to do it at the first opportunity I get.

    Awesome video. I only have two questions about the coil pop pop boat, if there's more coils, will it go faster? If so, adding more candles will make it go faster?

    • @VIDEOEPPO
      @VIDEOEPPO  ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is making more loop in one coil won't help as the nozzle and opening are not altered. It might speed up, but not much.
      Having two or more sets of coils will work as separate engines and the boat will gain moment due to the added weight of the coils and candles. But this would again add to the drag and it needs to be designed in a way to overcome drag

    great video. Interesting demo with water balloon. I do think the putting sound is part of the charm, but that copper coil one worked nicely. I understood you perfectly. But then I think you mentioned rupees somewhere, which implies you might be from India, and I have worked with many people from India as I am in the software industry.

    I thought the diaphragm of the candle boat engine has something to do with the propulsion mechanism but may be I am wrong. Your diy engine works pretty well without the diaphragm and the putt putt sound produced by it. Nice work!

      The reason it is able to propel the boat is the heated water is expanded by the heat, and is discharged at a higher velocity than the cool intake.
