I would paint behind the grill flat black to get rid of the blue color which you can see threw the grill. Going to be a sweet ride!
I really like how you did the bezels. Definitely sets the front end off! It's really come along.
Thank you!
I have 2 of these cars
@@rustyachers2459 send the other one my way
Good work. I've tried a few times to paint a car. Just don't have the patience to do the prep work, nor the talent to apply the paint. I'd even be happy with a 50/50 paint job. You know....... one that looks decent from 50 feet away, if you're going 50 MPH past it. 😉
I'm usually not a shiny car type of guy. Been a few years since I've done a "real" paint job. I think the next car I'm leaving rusty!
Looking good! Zip ties FTW
Wouldnt be able to build cars without em! Thanks roy
Good choice taking the bumper gaurds off.
💯
Are those "soybean wheels" on the car?
Looking really good.
Holy Moly! Nice work…I’m touching myself
HEY............ A wins a win!!!
Enjoy your shows,,
Thank you chiefymoe!
Looking good, Nick!!!!!👌👌👍👍
😎💯
Too much buffing and needing Mcguiers, can make you the painter that your boss fires.
I kinda liked the huge wrap around front bumpers. You have a very good eye for details. Totally the right call on everything you did. The bezels, the hood inserts and removing the bumper guards makes it go from looking pedestrian and boring to aggressive and more of a classic muscle look.
Very nice job.
Thanks!
Car is looking great man
Thank you!
Looks great. Good job👍💯
Appreciate that bud!
Great job on an awesome project. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for video, enjoyed it. Car is looking good!!
😎
You Did great. It looks awesome. As always I liked and shared. All my very best.
😎
Awesome! Would look cool with the road runner stripes and some magnum 500s
Magnum 500s 👍
Roadrunner stripe 👎
I've always thought that stripe looked terrible
Bro this looks amazing!
Thanks john!
looking Sharp bud Great choices on painting the bezels and hood inserts
I somewhatenjoyed 👍👍 Thank you
😂 Thanks for leaving a somewhatcomment! 😎
Looking good man. You are right about painting, the tops of the headlight bezels, that really champed it up! 👍🏁🔥🇺🇸
Thank you! I've been racking my brain to figure out why the front end of these cars look off. And it's the bug eyes bezels and a grill that is usually a different color. Flows way better now
It's really looking good. keep up the great work. I need to plastic weld some parts on my 78 chevy Van, I enjoy your videos
Thanks Crazy Joe! Vevor sells a plastic welder that is also a stick welder. It's like $75!!!
I like the progress it’s definitely a nice car !
It's looking good 👍
Thanks!
See vise grip garage there a special cage steel wool he uses but don't remember it off the top of my head.
@oscarwalton1188 I'm not sure, I used an sos pad which is 0000 steel wool with soap built into it.
Looks good. The front end, especially. Looking forward to your rim choice, if new ones are in your budget.
Will get something used off of marketplace. Probably cragars or whatever pops up that is cheap and fit
All my paint jobs are rated a #10. Looks good when you're at least 10 feet away. If it is mine and it's a driver, it doesn't have to be perfect. As long as the Mrs's is happy, then I'm happy. Enjoy your video.
💯 Long as she shines and the wife thinks its good you nailed it.
Great vision on those bezels. It made a huge difference.
It cleans it up nicely! Thank you
Nice ride . Waiting for next vide
Going to try my hardest to post twice a week random times. 1 time a week minimum
It's great to see the car turned out to be very nice because there is not allot of love for the 73/74 's
It is an amazing job, thanks for the video from Argentina,
Thank you!
Looking good I love your idea with painting the outside of the headlight bezels. I think it would be great to paint that grill the same color as the hood inserts.
It definitely needs painted. It's faded, Thanks for watching
In the end it will be 💯 percent.
Right now you're learning and that's part of the process.
Thanks
Coming along fast. All stainless or with blue the bezels look good either way.
Thank you!
They do Not!
@mr.b2107 everyone agrees, bezels look great you are out. 👎
Looking great !!!!
Thanks grampswillrun!
Nice work. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.
Nice work Looks good
Thank you!
Looks good there skippy, last car I painted was raddel can special, with hours and hours of turtle waxing😅😅😅
I gave my 55 plymouth wagon with the old rattle treatment even used rattle can clear coat! If it work it works!!
That's a really nice blue
Thanks mike!
I heard you chatting with Richard and Christina from What 5:31 The Rust last night. I used to watch a bunch of different people. But settled in with just a few. Like you and them.and about 3 others. The Plymouth is looking good my friend.
Yeah! I guess they watch the channel. Pretty awesome. Thanks Terry 👊
Really starting to look nice. Great job.
Good call on the headlight bezels
Thank you!
Shoe goo works really good to fix plastic grills
I like your work, cool man
Thank you more to come!
I hope you get time to shoot another video, anxious to see how the "Petty Blue 🔵" looks going down the road 😊
Nice job. I have a 73 satellite that I haven't got to work on yet that has the roadrunner stuff, it's real ruff still I think it will be a good driver I hate to see the old cars go to the crusher.
Where are you located? Do you want to sell it?
@@somewhatfast I'm in South Carolina, I always wanted this year roadrunner. Sense high school I enjoyed the 73 74 Mopars. I'm hoping to add this one to the fleet once I get my duster and 73 gran fury coupe original 440 car restored.
Looks great 👍🏻
The black would love really good.
The grey is not a bad look either.
Thanks Keith
I would paint behind the grille matte black
Good call
Looks great but the grill would look great a little darker.
Thanks again!
that detail with the light bezzle made a difference, would look sick if it wasdeeper in as the older style but this look is better then all shiny
Thought about making my own bezel out of fiberglass. We will see
@@somewhatfast hey ! that would be cool !!
Nice job so far Sir! You can go back and forth forever on if you should paint the grill or not ... been there ... I agree that you should paint it the same as the hood inserts.
Thanks super satellite garage!
Steel wool and Coca Cola works really nice on chrome, but aluminum foil and Coca Cola works miracles on chrome. I found your channel when you began painting this car, and also when you sounded like you were ready to quit TH-cam. I seriously do hope that you do not quit making videos, your content is very good, and I like how you take the time to explain what you're doing. Don't concern yourself with the keyboard commandos who claim to be professional painters, telling you that you're doing something wrong..........#1-where are their videos showing how they do this, and $2-it's your car, NOT THEIRS!!!!! There's only one person you have to impress with your work, and that person is YOU!!!! Don't worry about anyone else's opinion.
💯 thank you ill try that if I can remember
I really enjoy your channel, too. I have brought a few vehicles from junkyard to driver on a budget. I figure if I started with something already thrown out, I can only go up. I really appreciate you showing how to do a good job without every expensive, perfect tool on hand.
@orangecatfarm7194 thank you I appreciate that! Anyone can do this stuff if they find the time really
Looks awesome man 👍🏻
Preciate that nate!
Looks great.
Thank you guitar robot
Dude car is looking good!
Thank you go juice!
I hope you find some rally wheels for that beast that would be nice
Your background music reminds me of trailer park boys lol
Dang didn't think of that. I just typed in "elevator music" 😂 I usually don't do the time-lapses.
nice looking front end, I wouldn;t paint the grill the same as the vents as the head light trim matches the grill giving it a seamless appearnce a darker grill may break it up
And I think blacked out grill and body color on the bezels
Na looks too tacky
black behind grill , and leave grill stock , but Good job *
Approve
That's Jeremy
To clean up the bumper marks on the Chrome mother's mag polish or
How’s the car doing now? Can’t wait for more videos on her
Its Good been working on other non car related stuff.
Here's a random comment for the algorithm. Lol. I think painting the bezels was the right call.
Hey thanks GoatsGarage!
@@somewhatfast glad to be of assistance. Don't give up. We're struggling to get subs and content out too. We all work! LOL
A random comment....
Thanks dave!
Would look nice if you could polish the bezels.
Thanks for watching
You, my friend have polished a turd. If you’ve ever seen the movie Christine it looks nice dude I like the work that you’ve done
"He put brand new wipers on a busted windshield"
it could look like a Maserati Kyalami front
Hmmmmm, maybe a tiny
No bumper guards.
That’s because whoever owned the car before use the bumper as a guide for parking against a block wall or some shit who knows 😂😂😂😂
How soon must you do the cut n buff? I haven’t done anything to my new paint yet. I’m not sure I wanna, if you can understand.
If the paint job is clean and you are happy with it leave it alone. I had alot of sand in the paint. Plus wanted to get a mirror glass finish! Depends if you added hardener to your single stage you can cut and buff in 2 days to be safe.
@@somewhatfast thanx for the reply. I think I’ll let it be. I only have two bad spots of orange peel to fix.
@FIERO-GUY you could spot and a buff it too!
@@somewhatfast it’s always on my mind to fix the paint up some, but I really dig it as is. Spring time will let me decide. Still putting it back together at the moment.
@FIERO-GUY if one of those fieros pops up cheap im going to grab one I've always wanted one.
Just painted mine first paint, could you tell me what sandpaper I need to use, I used enamel
Is it single stage metallic?
@@somewhatfast yes it is
@@wayneculps2108 yoy can't cut and buff single stage metallic. You'll have to lightly scuff and clear coat it. Then cut and buff the clear coat.
Are you putting the road runner Stripes on it??
NO WAY They ruined these cars with those stripes.
@@somewhatfast I disagree, they need the stripes, but hey it’s not mine.. I’d love to have a yellow 73 or 4 done up like Daisy Dukes , or a 71-2 like her first one in the series which was also yellow.. side note when coy and Vance duke came to town they drove a dark blue 73.. yeah I’m a dukes nerd lol
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers The stripe looks but ugly
I would say no to the bump regards I’m sure you’re not gonna use the bumper as a guide for parking
Trip 0000 stainless steel
The bumper needs shimmed down. 73-4 should be the same
No the bolt holes didn't line up at all they were spaced further apart. I had to drill the hole out and it was still off
👍💪. hahahhahaha
Buffer and meguiars makes you the painter your boss desires.
Sorry I need to wet sand
Google how to ruin headlight bezels ...
Thanks for commenting
Rubbing compound is about 600 grit. So? You're wasting your? Time. With all them lower sanding paper. If you want to make it look good get a foam
pad and use the stuff that goes with the foam pad.
Yeah yeah yeah blah blah blah. 🤪😂🤪😂
Polyurethane paint.the paint to use now with 411 mix summit. It's a $105 a gallon.
Your car looks fine man leave it alone.
@donrippy-ee5ek whoa! Thats crazy cheap ill have to check it out. There is a summit locally her in texas
Maybe the next time it's cheap enough.
When you said you were going to modified headlight bezels, that's when I totally disagreed and quit watching. Its not a good idea at all. The people that pay the most money for that model year, had them when they were younger and want them original! They do not want that car looking like a amateur kid owns it at all. Poor judgement!
Thanks for commenting! But unfortunately it's my car. Got lots more unoriginal things to do to it.
Like the idea of matching the grill to the hoods inserts. It will tie it all together. On the blue showing through the grill, that's why Mopar blacked out the radiator core support behind the grill.
