- An amazing 3-day canoe safari down the Zambezi river from Chirundu to Mana Pools, Zimbabwe in May 2008. An adventure full of natural beauty, amazing wildlife and surprises - we were knocked out of our canoe by hippos! Luckily no-one was hurt and it turned out to be an incredible experience.

I worked in Mana as a conservation volunteer 25 years ago, it was and still is a magical beautiful and inspirational place, so many memories. Great video
Thanks Chris. You're right - Mana is one of the most magical places on earth.
@@GranadillaFilms absolutely, as a young Irish man it was my first journey from Ireland and helped launch my career in environmental work and outdoor learning!
thanks for the comments. one thing the video doesn't mention is that in one afternoon 3 different canoes in our group were attacked by hippos. our canoe was the first to be hit, rob and i were knocked out and our canoe overturned. we were back inside the canoe in seconds!!
Hippos and buffalo really aggressive animals. People usually underestimate them. Responsible for more deaths than Lions.
I did a canoe safari up the Zambezi a few years ago and was the most incredible experience of my life
i guess Im kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Dean Xavier Lately I have been using FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
I was lucky enough to spend a total of 13 years in the "Valley" during the mid 60's and 70's. Chirundu, Kariba, Vic Falls in Zim and Zam. Also travelled to Kasane/Chobe as well. Facinating place and love the video. I learnt to Kayak from under the bridge in Chirundu with a friend (Tony Close) who had a wooden Canvas covered 2 man Kayak that he built himself, we had a couple of very close Hippo encounters to make the trip more exciting.
Thanks for your comments, David. Mana Pools and the Zambezi river are unique, special places and memories of amazing experiences there will remain with me always.
song is very beautyfull😘😍😍😍😃😄😄❤❤❤❤
Great video. Really beautiful country.
I have done Kariba to Mana pools in october and we came across hundreds of hippos and even close, but there was not a single situation which was even close to being attacked by a hippo....50 meter distance made the case safe. I cannot even imagine that natureways would brought you into a situation like this...and last night of our tour hippos were grassing no more then 50 meters away from our tents and there was no danger to be seen at all.
