wish you all the best for the new year!! buggers it that the operation is postponed....that Covid stuff is really taking its toll on good old England and the rest of the world. Stay healthy, really enjoyed the TLR stuff you show. Greetings from cold -40 Edmonton Brrrrrrrrrr.
Interesting video again. Last autumn I bought Rolleicord Vb with my hard earned money. It was a bit expensive but it was fully CLAd by specialised Rollei repairman and it came with warranty. TLRs are such nice cameras to use. Especially those made by Rollei. Have a Happy New Year Peter. And hope you get those "aliens" sorted out swiftly.
Yes Rollei used the brass screws to combat rust and now it’s a nightmare removing them without stripping the threads of the slot. Nonetheless it’s a fantastic camera which can help create some beautiful photographs. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and cameras
I have a nice Rolleicord Vb from 1966 (judging from the serial no.) Also a Rolleilux light meter. It's a wonderful combination and it's a joy to use, and you can get crisp images from it. I had a Rolleiflex Automat for a while, but it kept jamming, so stuck with the Vb.
Thanks Peter - I have acquired a Vb Type 2 #2652541 which I think makes it an earlier mode, perhaps 1967 or so. It has ROLLEI-WERKE" in large capitalsin one line on the white plate at the base of the taking lens - followed by "FRANKE&HEIDECKE" in small caps in two lines. I asked a question by email about how to set Aperture and Shutter speed without engaging the cross-coupling - and I thank you for your separate and prompt email comments to me as follows :- "PUSH IN the RIGHT Aperture setting lever then it will move independently -- The LEFT lever cannot be 'Pushed In'". I am transferring the comms to here as others may have the same issue. I hope that is okay. On my Vb:- 1. the righthand lever moves the "f" (aperture) dial independently whether it is pushed inwards or not. 2. the lefthand lever moves moves both the "t" (shutter speed) dial and the "f" dial via the cross-coupling (so both at the same time) UNLESS the righthand lever is pushed inwards at the same time, in which case only the "t" dial rotates - in which case, two hands are required. So ... my question is :- is my Vb okay, or is there something that I am doing wrong here. It all seems very clunky but maybe that's why everyone loves this camera ? John
i just got Yashica A TLR, thats my entry into medium format. Mint condition.Shot the first roll, came out great, but 120 is a pain to load, took me 30 min to get it around the reel. Whats your opinion on that camera?
Thanks for this Peter I need to get out with my Vb. Happy New Year hope your health will improve next year 🙏🏻

JOHN -- That seems to be the 'Technique' -- fiddly I know to get round the 'Cross-Coupling'

Not sure about the 'Yashica A' but the 124 G Model is Top-Notch for sharpness but requires an 'Illegal' MERCURY 1.35 V battery to work the meter .
