Another reference to persona 5 can happen while exploring tartarus If you have Ken and Koromaru in your party, one of the many lines Ken can say is something like "if a Dog is able to use a persona, do you think a cat could.... nah, not possible" or something like that, i don't remember the exact line.
Also a Persona 4 reference when you’re looking for the mirrors to fight Lovers and Hierophant shadows if you click on the TV, Junpei says; a shadow in the TV? Nah, like that would ever happen
Ken also makes a code geass reference, in one of the hangouts with him when watching tv he falls asleep and he mumbles the line "the only ones who... Prepared to be... " in reference to Lelouch's signature line "the only ones who should kill are those prepared to be killed"
Notably (but probably this is a stretch) one of the dorm activities that you can do, involves reading with your teammates. Specially fuuka where you both reading, sci fi novel with many volumes and complicated writing, this could be a reference to Dune novels series. Maybe other novels, but idk it's kinda of a stretch.
There is a poster infront of the arcade that is a parody of the box art for Persona 4 Arena. There you can also see the police safety mascot character from Persona 5. There is also a movie poster in Screenshot during the late winter months that looks like it's a reference to SMT V. Plus all the references to Persona 1 and 2 that were in the original game are still there. It's mentioned during the beach vacation that the Kirijou group is a branch of the Nanjo Group which is from Persona 1. Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment characters are referenced on random days if you watch the TV and see Trish's Who's Who program. P3 is also inspired by Evangelion and that is demonstrated well in Japanese from MC being voiced by Akira Ishida (Kaworu) and Ken being voiced by Megumi Oogata (Shinji). Ryoji's character is definitely inspired by Kaworu.
There's also a reference to the song Kung Fu Fighting when you complete one of Elizabeth's requests. I believe it's the one where you give her the Gekkoukan Boogie CD.
A few things I noticed 1. You mispronounced Naginata. You kept saying “Nagatana” which is very wrong 2. The Beam Naginata is likely not a Star Wars reference, but instead, a Gundam reference, specifically to the Gelgoog’s main melee weapon. With that said, Gundam likely got the idea for beam weapons from Star Wars to begin with. 3. You missed a Persona 1 and 2 reference. The claw machine in front of the arcade plays a remix of the P1 and P2 Pharmacy theme, similar to how the Claw Machine in P5 plays the Junes theme
I haven't watched Trinity Soul but i am aware Akihiko was in it and it was definitely him He gave some lore about adults losing their personas and that being why he's not joining the cast or something That detail is definitely not cannon anymore but it's something that is interesting about the original way p3's future was seen.
Junpei's "Greatsword" might be a reference to the Dark Souls Franchise. There is a weapon in all three games going by the same name that resembles the Dragonslayer's Greatsword, but the resemblance can be better seen in 2 and 3. Though it might just be a generic renaming.
Nata Taishi isn't really an ASTRO BOY reference per se. Since the design is faithful to the myth of Nezha/Nata Taishi. I'd say ASTRO BOY took inspiration from the legend
They actually are not, there was an interview with Araki and one of the Persona directors where they basically admit that they just happened to have the same idea at the same time and were completely unaware of the other's project.
@@shikiyama That was in reference to the SMT series in general. But while Persona 1 and 2 don't really reference Jojo, but 3, 4, and 5 do. Those parts in Jojo came out way before the equivalent Persona games come out. Persona 4 is a walking reference to Diamond is Unbreakable, Persona 3 is a walking reference to Stardust Crusaders, and Persona 5 is also a reference to mostly Golden Wind though you can also argue it's partly Stone Ocean. Though we'll see if Persona 6 takes place in a jail or a giant horse race. Also that interview was in 2001. Persona 3 was released in 2006. For P3 you have a fire bird with a Magician arcana, an armored knight with a rapier, a dog as an active member, you fight tarot themed villains, you're on a journey (P3 FES specifically calls the main story The Journey), P3 MC has a lot in common with Jotaro, Akihiko's backstory is very similar to Polnareff, the Kirijou group acts as the equivalent of the Speedwagon foundation. P3 obviously takes references from other anime like Evangelion, but Stardust Crusaders is very blatantly an inspiration for it.

During the film festival both Lisa Silverman and Tatsuya Suou's themes play as well
in early days of the game in the dorm, if you talk to junpei he references brokeback mountain, calling it “brokeback tartarus”

Seems this video is doing pretty well, hope to see your channel get more attention
2:14 "Game & Movie References In Persona 3 RELOAD", meanwhile bro is talking about persona 3 portable
I also believe that Akihiko's movie scene plays Ginko's theme from P2 and Junpei's plays the Hero's theme from P2 as well!
There's also a reference to the song Kung Fu Fighting when you complete one of Elizabeth's requests. I believe it's the one where you give her the Gekkoukan Boogie CD.

Pal, we thought of the same thing
Amazing video !!! The dds reference made me so happy !!!!
Junpei itself is a representation of Mad Scientist Hououin Kyoumaa

Wow! This channel is gonna be big soon. Subscribed!
Hello! New here, but I'm happy there's a lot of videos for me to catch up on!
thank you >w>

The dark souls franchise was actually heavily inspired by the berserk series as well so the greatsword in the games are also a reference to guts sword
Astroboy wasn't original published in 2002
I didn't know P3MC wore Audiotechnica.
I own two of their M50 sets myself, one wired and one bluetooth. They're very nice. ❤
Your channel is great!
lol thanks

Yeah I agree keep at it
Always felt yeah Persona was inspired by JoJos
