I love the fact that you are all about no nonsense and get straight to the topic of the video. Because most TH-camrs dance, sing, talk too much about themselves or about random topics as if I clicked on their video for that crap. And I always unsubscribe to them all. You are a breath of freshness! I love your professionalism and spirit.
Thank you for saying that they don't need to be tight! I was getting so tired of having to wait 3-4 days before I could actually enjoy my braids. Now I can tell my mo, and stylist this!
I recently had my hair braided for the summer and I have to say that my niece did a fabulous job installing the braids. They were neatly done and I had no issues with being uncomfortable. Thanks for providing this information. Your channel is by far one of my favorite channels.
protein treatment before twists is great advice. It really helped, thankyou so much! On a completely unrelated note, you have glowing flawless skin, and a beautiful face. Can we ever get a skin routine or tips on skin care? Thanks again.
Thanks ... Wait till you try the Green Beauty Products line coming out. They're deff going to be the first of their kind. But... shhhhhh don't tell anybody lol
this is way I do my own braids ... the last time I let this African shop do my hair they took my edges thank god it grew back I almost think they do it on purpose...
I love this!! Thank you so much for this information. I have been opposed to braids for the very reasons you mentioned. I will gladly share this video!!!
You are simply amazing! I'm learning how to take care of my hair from watching your channel! I appreciate the time and knowledge you put in your videos... beautiful and genius!
You're videos have really helped me on my journey to understanding my hair which is allowing me to better take care of it! Thank you and I will be tuning in to watch more!
I’m not sure if you are still commenting on this video. It’s almost 6 years old. But here goes... I big chopped in May of 2018 and wasn’t happy with my growth. So in June I had box braids installed which was awful. Too tight/the braids were too big & the hair was too heavy. I had pain for weeks. I know, I know, I should have taken them out!! September I found out about crochet braids and haven’t looked back. I had them installed in September and October and decided to learn how to do them myself. My first attempt was actually not bad at all. My question for you is.. what are your thoughts on crochet braids? Are they healthy for the hair seeing that a metal hook is being used? What about the hair being installed on the actual hair? I’d love any input because it occurred to me that this protective style may not be so protective after all! Thanks so much! I love your videos!!
Great tips! Wonderful video! I’m on the right track. My stylist is definitely into growing hair, I never have a headache after braids. And I’m usually her early morning client too😍
I LOVE THIS!!!!! What a creative way to show us some hair care. As a brown female/individual trying to grow their hair... THANK YOU As an animation student who looks for new and creative ways to showcase things AND likes to come across more diverse cartoon characters.... THANK YOU!!
Just before my last braid install I gave myself a protein treatment. I did this on a whim my hair "acting up" & I thought it needed something more than a hot oil treatment. I must say there was a difference in my hair after the braids.
Good bless you, im starting a new hair journey wear ive been wearing braids for yrs and my 4c hair is a losing hair and my edges, thanks for this video
I'm so thankful for youtube to finally put something useful in my recomendation. I love the animations you made it make me understand much easier cus before I knew that too thight braids cause tension to our hair but I've never understand why
I Thank You SOOOOO much this information you gave in this video and the real protein treatment, how braids should feel ,and what to look out for has saved my hair. My hair was breaking off so much after I had gotten my hair braided fro an African shop...Not saying all African shops is like this one but braids was to tight and seems like they were ripping out my hair while braiding this happen at the beginning of the year around Feb. since then I had to cut my hair short 2x ,but it was still breaking off. I was deep conditioning it wearing loose styles no heat everything still won't stop breaking off. BUT when I came across this video in late July I order the real protein treatment and WOW... I tell no lies it has changed my hair and growth it is now Oct and I have fallen back in love with my hair... adding the real protein treatment to my deep conditioners is amazing for my hair. I haven't had breakage, lots of hair growth, and my hair is thinker. I kept combing my hair because not to see hair in my comb for me is unusually. My hair is so healthy I am so amazed because I tried so many things and I didn't think this would work....BUT it does I thank you again for sharing this info it saved my hair
I love your educational videos, but I understand what you are saying, and I love the fact that my hair grows fast, if I get braids by someone other than me, if they braid tight, I start to see new growth like 3 days later
I wish I had found this 5 weeks ago, before I braided my own hair! I unbraided everything yesterday and shed a lot of hair - which is par of the course for me. I hope I haven't damaged my scalp too badly...
Such a great video as always. God how I wish I knew this 10 years ago!!!. I got a weave done too tightly and had a headache for a week. I just thought oh well beauty is pain. Little did I know that was the beginning of my traction alopecia. I am now bald on my crown, have been for 8 years
I have box braids. I started spray purified water and vitamin E on them before styling especially my pin up styles. The hair will become more flexible.
OMGGG you are amazing and very knowledgable,.. Love the animations. As a teenage girl braids are a go to especially now that school is starting and the weather is getting a little cold. Thank you so much I have been searching for something like this for a while. Keep doing you boo
I just took down my box braids after about 2 months. I kept them moisterized, I took my time to separate the lenty dreded parts, I used oil, water, conditioner & front of my hair went from bra strap length to like shoulder length & the back which was almost waist length & that's shorter too. From thick to thin real quick. Any thoughts or suggestions for repair/regrowth?
You didn’t mention washing your scalp while it was in braids. That could be the culprit. It’s important not to stop washing your scalp even when it’s in braids.
Wow that's really informative. I Uninstall my braids to let my hair n scalp breath. I can't take when someone make my hair so tide cuz I get a headache of that. As I had to use the braids to grow my hair and shop the relaxed hair I have decided to leave my hair that way so it can grow without the braids, not to mention that I had to wash my hair with it and use oil in my scalp for the reason that I have itchy scalp.
This ist a great Video as My protective style has always been braids i treat it as my normal hair etc regime and wash every week and I don't normally do protein treatment before put in. I normally do protein treatment with DC but since watching your vids I have learnt alot. Also I want to say thank you because my hair has never felt so clean just washing my braids with shampoo I just let the shampoo sit on my hair for 3mins to remove buildup.Thank you for helping me to wash my braids properly. When take down my braids my hair would be full of life.
Dear Greenbeauty, I use braids also as a protective style. Yesterday I went for the first time after quarantine to get my hair braided. It seems like everything you said in video was opposite to what was done with my hair. I blow out my hair 2 days before so so it will be easier for combing. -She comb my hair with a small comb. - after done she used a scissors to neatly cut the hair. - then she boiled water and I believe that most of my hair got in hot water. -thank God my hair is not done tight. I know I was not assertive enough to talk about my hair safety before. I know if I notice damage or anything I will have to adress it next time or practice braiding my own hair better. I believe hot water can damage the hair follicles. Please let me know!! Thank you for all advice about type 4 hair they are very good information.
You need to speak up or kiss your hair goodbye. It is YOUR hair and in the end, you will have to deal with the consequences not them. I learned to braid my own hair from TH-cam videos and I am so glad. A ‘stylist’ who doesn’t give a damn about my hair’s health will never touch my hair again. Speak up OR learn to braid your hair yourself OR deal with the consequences of not speaking up. Trust me you’ll be mad at yourself for not looking out for yourself.
I am so grateful for these videos. Love this information. Clarify if you don’t mind when you stated blood vessels constrict and dilate. I thought that was two different actions

Learn to braid your hair yourself or SPEAK UP and tell these ‘stylists’ do not touch your edges. You have to care about your hair because they don’t. Black women we are obsessed with ‘laid hair’ so much to the point of losing our edges’ health. I learned to braid and crochet braid my own hair watching TH-cam tutorials.
your graphics and editing are simply incredible.
Thanks :-)

I really enjoy all your videos, they're informative and I appreciate all the time and effort you put into making them!
Thank You ... I love comments like this :'-(
@@GreenBeauty can you please do a video on how do you know you have fungal growth
Another tip for before installation is to wash the braiding hair to avoid the chemicals they treat it with from irritating your scalp
You're so beautiful !😩
Faux locs has been really great. Little to no tension, it fully protects the hair and it looks more natural the longer you keep them in.
protein treatment before twists is great advice. It really helped, thankyou so much! On a completely unrelated note, you have glowing flawless skin, and a beautiful face. Can we ever get a skin routine or tips on skin care? Thanks again.
Hack: do your edges before getting your hair braided so they can't be pulled into the braids
Yea I plan on doing that bc ppl b pulling my edgessss
How do we do the edges
Really and truly just tell them not to and style it afterwards. My hair stylist always does it like that
by far some of the best and most informative videos i've seen on you tube for naturals great job
I love your products! My hair experiences significantly less breakage. I swear by your products.

nah they dont do it on purpose just tell them not to braid on your edges and they wont
They don't do it on purpose. They want it to be tight so it lasts longer.
