GAWD,..what a face! the last picture frame of the HUNTER! That alone should put squirrels off that feeder! Good video, enjoyable narration...Thanks very much!
Nice shootin', Tex!!! In California, where I'm from, a .177 cal won't bring down some squirrels... Especially the big California Grey Squirrel! I shot a CA Grey from atop a telephone line, 30' above ground... Same thing happened that happened to you; in his death throes, he grabbed the weather casing of the power line, and hung on! He finally died, and fell 30'... he bounced off the ground!
Hi Aaron! How big are they? They're not that big here so a .177 does the job. I've switched to ml.22 recently however and they hit hard. When the grip on, you sometimes think... "Will they ever let go?!" 😂 Thanks for watching my friend. 🇺🇲🇬🇧
Squirrels, (We have the same in Michigan), are pretty tough. If you don't make a good shot with a .177, it will run off wounded and you won't find it. I would not even shoot one with a sub 12fpe .177, (OK, maybe under 20 yards. My break barrel is 16.5fpe, and I sight it in at 35 yards), but with a but more power and a good shot, they can be bagged to 70 yards. Still---you have to be able to shoot well enough, and that can be tough with a break barrel, but it can be done. :) The Hades and 10.34 JSA heavies, (same pellet dimensionally and weight), are by far the best pellets for any .177 gun in the USA.

Congrats on getting a mention from Keith of 68 Whiskey in that new Airgun101 video too BTW, you deserve it! 👌🏻 Looks like you're struggling even more than me to resist the Cv19 lockdown munchies though! ...and that's saying something too. 🤣🤣 All the best, cheers. @@arpc It's a Police requirement for the time being, we call to give all the details & are given an incident number, then call again when we get home to "close the incident". It's cool to be classed as an 'key worker' anyway, though that's only providing we're protecting food production or livestock... so I guess reducing numbers of Grey Squirrels isn't included up here... yet. Cheers. Russ
Very true. Sometimes however they normal Diabolo's over-penetrate which can result in damaged roofing. These are accurate and stay inside the quarry! 👍
I try to get my shots between the eyes or just behind the eye on a side shot. Lots of spasms but done like toast every time. Never had one alive after a head shot but I certainly have when I missed and hit the body because the squirrel was uncooperative and moved to ruin my shot.
Cheers Roy. To be honest, I don't look at the thumbs down. I look at the positive and constructive feedback from people like yourself. This is more honest and nice to read. Thank you! I appreciate you watching and taking a moment to leave a comment. 😁👍 Stay safe mate. 😷😁

You gave that squirrel a " Nohawk" hairdo. The one you took the follow up, heart/lung. Where I grew up we had walnut trees. We had ground squirrels, and big reds, big greys---tree squirrels. Anyways, when I was age 8, I popped my first squirrel in the noggin at 20 yards, on the old Crossman 110, pump pistol. Eyeball shot too. Squirrel tastes good to me. That's how I learned to skin, and dress them. 1960s era. Sadly, I missed my morning varmint today. Yep, sometimes I miss shots too. : / Update: That little varmint bird came back to a thwacking. Yep, .22 Hades 15.89gr straight to chest center mass, and on the hop, offhand. One week I've been after that corvid! They're hard to get since they have high intelligence, and very sharp eyes. Now he's a boa constrictor snack. Never waste any kill.
A NoHawk. Nice! 😂. I've never eaten squirrel. These go to a falconry center, but it's also nice to clear them from the woods. The farmer hates them! 👍 Thanks for watching another episode mate. Stay safe in your shooting my friend. 👍😁
I get a kick out of your chanel. It actually motivates me. Saving up for an ATN. Weather is perfect for sleeping bag on deck, with spotlight or ATN. Squirrel meat on tree squirrels is nice when slow cooked with onion, garlic, peppers, and some tomatoes plus wild rice and mushrooms. Rabbit too. Slow cooked till meat comes off the bone. Sent my old childhood airgun hunting pal a picture of that corvid I smashed in the chest with a Hades. We used to clear orchards with our Sheridan and Benjamin air rifles. We had avocados. Squirrel and rat love them. I'd sit in the tree, and tape a flashlight under my Sheridan and wait. One night I shot a racoon pilfering our grape vines. Lol. 11 years old. Edit : Another funny old timer fact. We got paid a nickel a bird, a .50 cent piece for a rat, a dollar for a squirrel and rabbit, five dollars for a racoon or possum, twenty dollars for a coyote. So, we were motivated varmint killers.
Thanks for the relaxing entertainment mate. I loved the spike pad scene and "scratching his balls" comment. The female reaction in the background was a hoot! Wakodahatchee Chris
I always like to eat a Topic bar when squirrel shooting. I remember the 70's ad ' a hazlenut in every bite'. Yes, just like squirrel sh*t. Keep up the good work, but squirrels are relentless. I've shot thirty out of the farm office window, but that's the price of us having so many bird feeders in the gardens.
Me personally I prefer using my .22 magnum hitting em at long range, but God dang it I love watching these videos and I love the efficiency of these air rifles, this dude and Squirrel Hunting Channel are both awesome
I'm looking at bigger calibers. A friend of mine was shooting them from his house with a .17 HMR. He was literally unzipping them! 😂 I do really like the Air Rifles for this kind of work. It's fun and extremely effective!! Thank you very much for your kind words. I really appreciate it! Thanks for watching!! 👍👍👍
That headshot disconnected the brain from the body. The brain inhibits as much as controls the muscle activity. The squirrel was a dying zombie at that point.
I know it's a stupid question, but ...I'm going to ask it anyway... do you use salted or just plain bulk bought peanuts, now I know cattle love salt, just vaguely wondering if it makes any difference, not that the soon to be punctured squirrel would have time to appreciate the salt.... :)

One great video. Love the commentary as well. 😁😁. Some big rats you were shooting. Not sure what was more interesting you shooting or you eating 🤣🤣. Keep safe. From Natalie x
Hahaha 😂 Definitely me eating! 😂👍 Thanks for watching! 👍👍
@@arpc not sure about you eating 😁😁.. waiting for next video 😉😁
"Let me help you." hahaha
That’s more fun than any sniper video game, right there.
GAWD,..what a face! the last picture frame of the HUNTER! That alone should put squirrels off that feeder!
Good video, enjoyable narration...Thanks very much!
Haha. My mother said I'm a handsome young chap! What do you mean?! 😁😂😂
Thanks for watching! 👍😁
@@arpc I ain't yer Muddah! LOL!
Yes I agree, you will need a greater allowance perhaps for pellet drop over different distances - but its a harder hit for sure
The Ballistic Calculator on the ATN can cater for that if you set it up correctly! 👍
"Will they ever let go?!" 😂
Thanks for watching my friend. 🇺🇲🇬🇧
@@arpc this is them...
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_gray_squirrel
Squirrels, (We have the same in Michigan), are pretty tough. If you don't make a good shot with a .177, it will run off wounded and you won't find it. I would not even shoot one with a sub 12fpe .177, (OK, maybe under 20 yards. My break barrel is 16.5fpe, and I sight it in at 35 yards), but with a but more power and a good shot, they can be bagged to 70 yards. Still---you have to be able to shoot well enough, and that can be tough with a break barrel, but it can be done. :)
The Hades and 10.34 JSA heavies, (same pellet dimensionally and weight), are by far the best pellets for any .177 gun in the USA.
They look a similar size to fully grown Grey's here.
@@arpc a squirrel that weighs in at 1kg is a pretty big squirrel! They're at least 1.5ft (minus the tail) in length, and hyperactive as hell!
Another good video Jonny, nice work.
Congrats on getting a mention from Keith of 68 Whiskey in that new Airgun101 video too BTW, you deserve it! 👌🏻
Looks like you're struggling even more than me to resist the Cv19 lockdown munchies though! ...and that's saying something too. 🤣🤣
All the best, cheers. Russ
Thanks Russ! They're really nice lads and their videos are awesome. I was well pleased to get the shout out!
Ah, if I didn't get out, I'd be like a house end. I eat all the time when I'm working from home. 🥞 Hope you're well mate. Stay safe! 👍
@@arpc Thanks Jonny, aye as well as can be expected... I've restarted visiting a few of my local Permissions too, calling 101 before & after too of course. 🙄
Cheers. Russ
Is 101 a requirement up in the Land of the Scots?
@@arpc It's a Police requirement for the time being, we call to give all the details & are given an incident number, then call again when we get home to "close the incident".
It's cool to be classed as an 'key worker' anyway, though that's only providing we're protecting food production or livestock... so I guess reducing numbers of Grey Squirrels isn't included up here... yet.
Cheers. Russ
Awesome video ✌️ definitely going to get some Hades .177 if I can find them 👍
Oh my, what fun! Love your sense of humor!
Thank you! I really appreciate your kind comments. 😁 I've got more coming soon so stay tuned and stay safe! 👍👍
Loving the commentary mate 😂
Thanks again buddy! Much appreciated. Its nice to get the support from viewers! More coming this cold winter ❄️ Stay with me. 👍
I'm not convinced that the ATN would hold up to break barrel springers. I've had problems with a solid .22 cal Savage Arms rifle and ATN!
Around 6:30 I was waiting for a headshot and sick hard metal music. Very relaxing, this.
Another great video pal , keep them coming, 😁👍
Cheers Phillip. Always appreciate you watching. 😁👍
Awesome! Good stuff . Spilled squirrel, nice.
Haha. It was a little messy!
Thanks for watching mate. Stay safe. 👍
Commentary creasing me up. Keep it up rofl
Cheers Ste! I appreciate your kind words... 👍👍 for watching! 👍
Great vid and educational and your funny as hell keep it up man
Cheers my friend. I really appreciate it. Thanks for watching and commenting!! 👍👍
So long as the pellet is accurate, it's fine. I find a boring diablo pellet through the brain works every time.
Headshots are by far the way to go. Like you say, placement is vital. You misplace a shot and it can be difficult to recover from.
A shooting video with some comedy, what's not to like, well done mate.
Geoff.
Geoff, thank you! I appreciate that. Thanks for watching mate. Stay safe! 😁👍
Great video! Totally awesome commentary!!!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! 👍👍
What can I say 😂,I worked on a farm and how true ! ,If you start to find chocolate laying around and cat strips near by beware 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Brilliant. 👍
Love the video, commentary is brilliant, made me laugh 😂🤪🐀🥴🐿👍
Thanks very much David. I really appreciate it. Thanks for watching - I hope you've have an awesome day today. 👍😁
Excellent video. What pellet rifle are you using? What is the foot pounds? And fps?
Great shooting. Very clinical and humane. You put a warning up at the start of the vid yet you still get 44 negatives. Utter muppets.
Cheers Roy. To be honest, I don't look at the thumbs down. I look at the positive and constructive feedback from people like yourself. This is more honest and nice to read. Thank you!
I appreciate you watching and taking a moment to leave a comment. 😁👍 Stay safe mate. 😷😁
Love your videos especially your commentary throught .Keep them coming please
Thank you my friend! That's very kind. I appreciate that!
I've got another lined up in the coming weeks! 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Don't you just love the commentary? He's certainly dedicated to his work LOL
Thank you sir! 😁👍
Excellent work all round mate 👍👍👍
Thanks mate! Really appreciate you watching. I will be on your soon! 😂
Your welcome buddy 👍
I just stumbled across your channel (sub'd), awesome shooting and narration! 👍
And greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦!
Pete
Thanks Pete! I really appreciate your kind words. And thanks for the sub! Much appreciated.
I've not been out much this winter, but I'll be adding more videos soon all going well.
Take care. Happy shooting!! 👍👍
I love the running commentary
Thank you very much. That's good to hear. Thank you for watching and taking a minute to comment!! 👍
I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos. 😁
Fine video and shooting. Squirrels are tasty, but porcupine roasted on a stick is my favorite.
Update: That little varmint bird came back to a thwacking. Yep, .22 Hades 15.89gr straight to chest center mass, and on
the hop, offhand.
Thanks for watching another episode mate.
Edit :
Another funny old timer fact. We got paid a nickel a bird, a .50 cent piece for a rat, a dollar for a squirrel and rabbit, five
dollars for a racoon or possum, twenty dollars for a coyote. So, we were motivated varmint killers.
I’ve recently tried an H&N sport piledriver....does the job.
You're like the David Attenborough of pest control.
Haha. There's a thought. Thank you. 👍 Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
Thanks for the relaxing entertainment mate. I loved the spike pad scene and "scratching his balls" comment. The female reaction in the background was a hoot!
Wakodahatchee Chris
Thank you! Apologies for the late reply. I didn't get the notification! 🤦🏾♂️ 😁
Good choice in chocolate!! 😁 You're right. They're relentless and destructive! Good work mate. 👍 Thanks for watching!
Great video and shots! Would love for you to take me out training after lockdown!
I do really like the Air Rifles for this kind of work.
Plain. They like the natural smell.
Love that sense of humour !
Thank you! And thanks for watching!! 👍
Awesome video, I can tell you put some effort into good shots, both with camera and rifle lol
Thank you very much. That's very kind of you. The shooting is the priority to ensure safe and humane kills. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Stay safe! 😁👍
Well done and the commentary is great.
Cheers my friend! Thanks for watching. Much appreciated. 😁👍
