Thanks for watching! I'm in the process of moving right now so my kitchen time is limited. I'm thinking of doing some more of these review-style videos in the short term since my microwave is my best friend for the time being! Let me know what you think!
Years ago, Stoufers was a lot better. About 2 years ago I discovered Michael Angelo's and that's the Lasagna for me when I don't make my own, their eggplant parm is good too, I haven't tried their chicken parm yet.
Just had some Stouffer’s and I have to agree about the noodles. They are surprisingly good. We cooked ours in the oven and I think it’s better than microwaving it.
Excellent video! Stouffers has a cheese-lover's lasagna and a meat lover's lasagna. I adore the cheese lover's lasagna. The meat lover is too spicy for my taste. I plan on buying the cheese lover's lasagna when I go shopping next week!
Michael Angelo's makes several very good products. Shrimp Scampi (add peas or veggies if you want. It's pretty buttery.); Eggplant Parm; Veggie Lasagna; etc.
Thank you for watching! I enjoyed making these taste-test videos, the chicken Alfredo videos were probably my favorite. I’ll keep an eye out for that Shrimp Scampi, thanks for the suggestion!
@@kevinsmith5288 Eggplant Parmesan is also my favorite. I live in South Texas and Michael Angelo's foods are supposed to be out of Austin, Texas, based on Michael's grandmother's recipes.
I just had the Michael Angelos the sauce was a little bitter but not enough mozzarella on top but Stouffer is good but not consistent enough in every package but I will try the Great Value next time but with like every store brand who makes it.
We tried Rao's sauce and didn't particularly care for it. Also, I am not going to pay $9 for a jar of marinara sauce. I'm not running an Italian restaurant in my house.
Michael Angelo's used to sell a vegetable lasagna at Sam's, that was amazing. The meat one is excellent too though, hands down best frozen meal out there.
Every Michael Angelo's frozen meals are superior to anyone, perfect for a quick meal when you don't want to cook. Add a good Italian salad, some garlic bread knots, it's as good as 'out'.
Stoufers was actually served at the pepper mill restaurant chain in the 70s. Baked and then a ladle of sauce on each portion. It was great. It’s not the same today. Pitiful really
Most of them are high in sodium. I just did a frozen breakfast sandwich review and included shots of the ingredient list, maybe should have done that here. Thank you for watching!
I like Stoufer's but have to be the Italiano style. It has more bite and flavors. My favorite frozen lasagna is LaRosa's out of Cincinnati, but may be hard to find.
The Gordon Ramsey lasagna is pretty darn good. However, when I cooked it the noodles were tough but I put it in the frig overnight and the next day the noodles were perfect! I probably just didn't cook it long enough. He has an Alfredo lasagna as well. Both are delicious, but expensive.
I've had the Stouffers and thought it was pretty much terrible in every regard, even when baked in the oven. I used to buy the Michaelangelo's at my local Wally World until they stopped carrying it. Was pretty good IMO, at least for a frozen lasagna out of the oven. I'd throw a couple slices of Mozz or Munster on top and broil it at the end. They have another one now that's refrigerated called Rayna's. It's pretty good.
I used to like Stouffers decades ago. I broke down and bought a box about a week ago. It was awful. The noodles were thick and doughy. I agree the sauce is ketchupy and it's lacking in meat and cheese. I was very disappointed.
@@southernaccentfoods In all honesty, I wouldn't worry about it. Taste is very subjective and we're all different on that level. You're also entitled to your comparative opinion. I think you did a good job.
