This game is on my short list, so thanks for looking it over. (yes, I know - I'm late for everything. I'm sure I'll be late to my own funeral too) I was very curious about solo playability, as I am with any game I buy. Love the map, love the counters, in fact I think you helped me make the decision!
The rule book has gone through a lot of changes due to typo's and the wrong information. IE> Starting reserves. I was a play tester for Chad Jesens GMT games and he was the best at accuracy and easy to read rule books. Why do people release a product that needs many corrections? Some of the counters don't have the back printed on them. Typical Compass games. Don't get me wrong. I love the game. It really captures the WW 1 theme.
GMT. Must have been on a paper map. GMT releases lots of unfinished products. They've got way more errata on BGG. It's because everyone is paying for a product before it is truly even a finished product.. Things like p500's.
I have been fascinated with WW1 for as long as i can remember, and i also just learned about Compass Games titles. Thank you for sharing this.
Compass has several WWI titles worth checking out, including the ever popular The Lamps Are Going Out.

Glad to be of service my friend! :)
That rulebook is attrition on itself
I have the original version, but I had trouble working out how to play it. Hopefully this rulebook provides a bit more clarity.
Keep us posted on your progress!
Thanks for this Moe. Looks like I will have another game on my list.
Glad to help provide you with the look that you needed to make a decision!
Thanks Moe. Looks like another game I need to check out.
Glad to help show you another game! ;)

That would be a question best directed to Bill during one of the Town Hall's, about the development for this one.
