I appreciate the inter-weaving of the Y3 with the other switch references. Makes for a much easier comparison. I also cant believe how far we've come from the Gateron Oil
Recently there's a new switch called the blue cheese that's being sold by keybay/keygeek It's very thock from the sound tests I've heard If u ever get it please do a sound comparison w this!
I haven't tried them yet - and regarding the Morandis I don't think I'll ever will - I heard multiple bad experiences from trusted creator friends about pinginess/rattliness, so I think I'll pass them. But the Smoothies sound promising!
@@thoccnologyi heard similar reviews on it but my pack of Morandi switches had no noticeable problems, i think they are on of the smoothest switches i have tried
Can you recommend a heavier switch with a sound profile similar to this? I tend to like an actuation force around 50-55g. I have the Akko demons right now and they are 50, but they're just a tad too clacky for my taste.
Spring swapping is indeed an option, but if you'd like to try out more switches anyways, I think I'd go with the heavier HMX switches like HMX Purple Dawn or EVA, or the Duhuk Lumia Matcha V4 (it's a bit thicker though)
Everyone riding that HMX hype, meanwhile Keygeek releases one good switch after another and it's rarely ever mentioned. Their RAW switch is awesome too, if you can find it. Both the Y1X and Z1 sound more muted to me because the bottom out on Y3 seems louder and more plasticky...

I'm happy to hear it helps with the comparison! ^^ Indeed, time has passed over the Oil Kings (lucky for us :))
What are your top 3 favorite linear and tactile switches? For thocky builds you said you like Bsun switches, which ones?

Looking forward to your switch reviews! ;)

Just a suggestion, but you could always spring swap.

They sound so full and solid. Thank you for the great review!😆
