Nathalie Lorsen is hands down my favorite perfumer. I wouldn’t say I have signature, but if I had to pick one Un air d’Apogee would be it. I own nothing like it and it just smells so damn good. Enjoyable year round❤️
Encre Noire all the way I have all versions. It's one of the best fragrance series ever. I wear them all and still enjoy all 4 of the different versions. I'm interested in the Maison Violet scents. And can't wait for your new kit drop tomorrow. Excited to check out what you have in addition to Maison Violet fragrance.
Nathalie Lorson is definitely one of my favorite perfumers. From this list, I own and enjoy Mandarina Duck "Black Extreme", "Bentley For Men Intense", Lalique "Encre Noire"+" Encre Noire A L'Extreme", Givenchy "Gentleman EDP", and Zadig & Voltaire "This Is Him". I also own the Paul Smith, but I'm not familiar enough with it yet so I won't say if I like it or not (it's not bad though). My favorite fragrance from this list might be Mandarina Duck "Black Extreme": I love it and I'm very glad that I bought backup bottles of it.
I've been enjoying my sample of Maison Violet "Un Air d'Apogee". On paper, it's somewhat similar to "Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso" because both fragrances seem to use the trio of tobacco, hay, and possibly black pepper. However, because of the notes/ingredients which they don't have in common: "D&G Intenso" smells more like a bar of something like "Irish Spring" soap, and "Un Air d'Apogee" smells more like a bar of Honey & Lilac soap. For me, I like both of those fragrances, but "Un Air D'Apogee" is the better fragrance between the two and I hope to get a full bottle of it eventually. "Un Air d' Apogee" is one of my favorite fragrance discoveries this year.
When I started to get really interested in fragrances but didn't know much about them her name jumped out at me because all the fragrances I really enjoyed turned out to be her creations when I checked later.
Her men's fragrances are some of the best. Love her work and my favorite Bentley for men Intense. Thanks for this video. I would love to see videos for other perfumers as well. Hopefully you are working on them soon.
As a teenager I wanted my parents to buy me a bottle of Farenheit, but was too expensive I think. They gave me Paul Smith Men. You are the only other person I've known to have mentioned it in all these years. Hadn't smelled it for years. Picked up a bottle out of curiosity last year. Brought back some drunken Xmas vibes lol. Thanks
My top 5 fragrances composed by Nathalie Lorson 1.Close To Midnight by Musicology 2.Parfait de Rôses by Lancôme , unfortunately it's discontinued 3.Oriana by Parfums de Marly 4.Vanille de Madagascar by Chopard 5.Fig Infusion by Essential Parfums SOTD is Higher Energy Dior , i presume you remember it
How did I miss this video! Nathalie Lorson is among my most favorite perfumers. Most recent love is indeed Un Air D’Apogee, but all time favorite is long forgotten Casran by Chopard, released in 2000 and discontinued shortly. Very unique aromatic fougere with gourmand elements and ambery dry sown, a fragrance unlike any other. Extremely hard to find now unfortunately.
Thanks so much for this type of video! I never realized that I own 4 fragrances by Nathalie Lorson (Bentley for men Intense, Givenchy Gentleman Edp, Encre noire (regular and sport)! Might try some others that you mentioned in the near future
I recently got the Maison Violet sample set and Un Air d’Apogee is my favorite of the bunch too. I want to get at least a decant for the fall. I am actually wearing Amouage Lilac Love right now for the first time and am really enjoying it (though I don’t know that I smell a whole lot of lilac, strangely. Fresh lilac is one of my favorite smells in the world and my fav lilac perfume so far is Regime des Fleurs Tears). I really like Bentley Intense too. My fav Nathalie Lorson frag that you didn’t list is Zara MSK 004/NTL. A delicious white musk and candied almond fragrance (with iris and patchouli). It’s sadly discontinued.
Hi Sebastian! From nathalie lorson i really enjoy givenchy gentleman cologne. Just in case you keep enjoying making this kind of videos id really apreciate a Karine Dubreuil-Sereni or Karine Vinchon Spehner one. Greeting, have a nice weekend
dear theres topic pop up between some of perfume viwer , i wish to see your episode #favourite or top perfume from each brand not matter how many brand do you have its really interesting
Great video Sebastian! A while ago, you mentioned that you were thinking of doing a top 20 list for the house of Le Labo. I was wondering if that video would be dropping anytime soon?
Hi Sebastian, I just have less than 10 ml remaining of Sycomore, but cant afford a new bottle, which encre noire is more similar to Sycomore, the original or a l’extreme? Thank you.
The A L'Extreme to me is more but some people say the original. If you can get samples I would and sample these prior to settling on one. But then again you might think they aren't close so always good to sample. But also LOL they are fairly cheap or inexpensive Fragrances so?
Out of curiosity, do you (or anyone) know who the first successful or famous female perfumer was and what fragrances they created? Could it be Coco Chanel?
Oh I don’t think Coco Chanel was a perfumer herself. More like the creative director. She worked with perfumers. I’ll have to find out who was the first female perfumer though as I’m curious. 😀
May I know why you keep saying "stay tuned" at the beginning when I can skip the intro?! People used to say this back in the TV days when we had to wait for an ad in between!
I think so. If they go to perfumers school most have to learn chemistry. Self taught ones most don't know chemistry at least that's what I have noticed and or heard! :)
When you say “iris” in French, the “s” is pronounced:-) I am a francophile so I can’t refrain from trying to help. And incidentally, in something like “Insolence”, the “in” is pronounced like a nasal short a, not a short o. Words like “antique “ ARE pronounced like a nasal short o. Sebastian would you talk about perfume residue on clothes? It’s something I dislike since I do change my fragrances from day to day though I have those I tend to wear- anyway I really hate when the residue on clothes becomes a mishmash. Would that be an interesting video? Maybe not 😂. But maybe..

She’s so great. I enjoy most the fragrances she’s created and/or involved in.

Yes...Musicology is a brand she did all of the perfumes...even the new two upcoming releases. Marvelous perfumer.
Love love Another 13, not a screamer but just enough sillage, office safe but characterful 😍

Zadig & Voltaire This is Him! is my favourite Nathalie Lorson's creation.
Fusion d'Issey Extrême Issey Miyake for Men is sublime. Great depth and it’s really long lasting

Great video! love her work!
Loved this! Thank you!
you could have include Paul Smith Man too , a precursor of Dior Homme
Perles de Lalique is also by Nathalie Lorson. Smells similar to Dior Midnight Poison and appears to have been released in 2006 whereas MP was 2007!
Ooh I have heard
@@ThePerfumeGuy I bought a bottle because I ain't paying grey market prices for MP

Hi Mr Sebastian.. Good day to you.. I love to watch your video perfume reviews.. 🥰👍🏻
Great video Sebastian!
A while ago, you mentioned that you were thinking of doing a top 20 list for the house of Le Labo. I was wondering if that video would be dropping anytime soon?
If he does, I would imagine in September, when all the city exclusives are available, everywhere
I’m trying to build to 20 to do a 20. I think I am missing a few.
@@ThePerfumeGuy fair enough, thanks!
Great Video Sebastian!! Encre Noire is the best fragrance created by Nathalie Lorson... masterpiece!!
I can why it’s quite popular
I love videos about parfumers
Thanks for sharing your video take care 😇

I've enjoyed encre noire but the Al'Extreme version smells like a medicine to me . not a fan of that one
My favorite Nathalie Lorson fragrance is Monet's Palette Master X Master ❤🔥🔥🔥🌄💎
I don’t know this one?
May I know why you keep saying "stay tuned" at the beginning when I can skip the intro?! People used to say this back in the TV days when we had to wait for an ad in between!
I love nathalie lorson
I wish her launch her own perfume in one day. ❤
Cool! I didn’t know Nathalie Lorson made some Maison Violet 🟣
The staircase 😆 lol
Oh yes!!!
Sebastian, are most professional perfumers chemists?
I think so. If they go to perfumers school most have to learn chemistry. Self taught ones most don't know chemistry at least that's what I have noticed and or heard! :)
I recently got the Black Opium extreme...and I am thinking I got a fake because it only lasts a couple of minutes 😥😭
Tip: put your camera on eye level. This is higher than now. 😎
hi nice video
When in September is your bday Sebastian ? Im September baby too!!
Godmother of encre noire
I see Nathalie Lorson, I click.
She's a great perfumer isn't she?
