I watched Hans Stuck spin out about mid-race at Sears Point in the IMSA-GTO class. He was down half of a lap and not only made up the distance but managed to get by Hurley Haywood (no small feat) and win by a surprisingly large margin. I still remember that race as one of the top-ten of all of the races that I ever watched. I was physically exhausted from the intensity of just viewing that competition. I also remember the Eagle Talon had an picture of Hans Stuck on the back with a red circle and line through it. Hans joked that he absolutely refused to sign it. Ha ha! I always loved his enthusiasm and humor.
Thanks for sharing this, I was young in that time and could only read about this in the motoring magazine.. Audi was my 3ed car I owned, and ever since I never looked anywhere else..
I always hated running NASCAR CUP cars at Watkins glen. Only NASCAR RACE they will run in the rain. It’s always a shit load of crashes. But I did love the fact that was the coolest race you’ve ever attended. As long as it rains. Great video.
Very glad to see this, I was thinking about these cars and racing last night. They sure were quite advanced. I also loved seeing Geoff Brabham kicking butt in the Nissan back then.

I grew up 10 minutes from Summit Point and when I go there now it's hard to picture IMSA racing there.
Racing back then had a whole other meaning.
