Hi there ! Some tips: You should apply the 1st lotion at the back wash sink for safety reasons. Wait about 5 mins and then take off the cotton wrap, and put a new one, otherwise he will get skin burned. After 20 mins unwrap 1 rod to check if hair strand is curly... Otherwise leave all rods 5 min more. Apply the neutraliser at the back wash sink as well...

Agreed. You can clearly see the child already has curly hair. If anything curl rods and mousse would have been just effective. But why start off trying to make you hair into something it's not? I am sure the baby boy couldn't care less about how curly his hair is. Bad way to instill self-confidence.

So many black girls start off with getting their hair pressed and permed at a very young age for so long they don't feel confident their natural hair is beautiful or are self conscious of their hair being 'nappy'. Some have never seen their hair in it natural state. These are things handed down to them unintentionally. When you are old enough to decide for yourself you want to do these things, that's totally fine, no problem. Let's not start this child off thinking he needs a perm for curly hair when he hair is perfectly fine without it. Also whatever you're talking about is totally different and not the subject of this post. If you don't know what you're talking about or never experienced it, you should really keep quiet.

Too late now, but next time, just wash his hair and put little plaits in it. Not tiny.
Use royal crown hair grease to condition hair while you are doing it. Put a not-too-tight stocking cap on to keep little plaits in order.
When you gently unbraid his hair after it is dry, like the next morning, it will be soft, lustrous, and full of texture. You don't really need to use a perm on a baby's head. ❤️ Not good for his skin or hair. We were all new mothers one time or another, So I am not trying to berate you. But nah... Don't put anymore harsh chemicals on the little tyke tyke. ❤️

Just have to say only just started watching these perming videos at over 50 years as a perming technician. So shocked by the bag standards of perms and mistakes made. In UK we do not perm under 13 years of age because of hair cycle

Your just damaging his lovely hair. 😭. I strongly encourage that your baby boy have a towel to cover his eyes to protect himself from the chemicals and tilt his head back to avoid dripping. 😬 also take smaller sections so that the perm rods can touch each other for better a curl and don't use that dryer to speed up the process, let it naturally process.
