@paulsaunders1343 we usually do but it was going to cost a lot more this time round. Gave us the chance to assess the package deal transfer for you all though. It wasn't too bad to be honest.
Used to use Aspire at NCL all the time, but £80 for two OAP with way way over the top. Our daughter did a business from NCL to LHR and the BA lounge at LHR is 100% better.

Just used the lounge at Gatwick and it was £29 each and loads of choice for food and the lounge was proper chilled out . I reckon aspire Newcastle need to up there game shocking
First we ever did was at Leeds and it was self service. It was a great experience. Newcastle have always had staff serving, probably to keep an eye on those drinking too much.
Interesting, would be good to see what the old rooms are like then. We were quite lucky with the transfer thankfully, not even half full so not many drop offs.
@continentalcoxons I don't think I would either!.. just hope doncaster airport re opens with some good companies i believe Tui are interested in returning. Hopefully it's next year as its 35 minutes away from me. X

We flew on 15th Sept, which was a Sunday. Yeah we just wanted to try it again with it being our anniversary as we knew we wouldn't get to our destination until late. That ruled out getting an evening meal so decided to this instead. It would've been better going to Greggs beforehand. Never been as busy as that mind. Quite sure the 1 person serving is a ploy like, theu couldn't the queues were massive. In a bar or even a shop, if that was the case, they'd get extra people serving. Total money grab.
Hopefully it'll be a bit quieter now the peak season has passed. We found the morning food options were far better than the afternoon so you might be OK. However, it was about a year and a half ago we were in for the morning. Was half as busy as that and the breakfast sandwiches were good. No queues for drinks either. That's definitely the busiest we've seen it.
@continentalcoxons I'll be leaving a review like yous did if they are hopeless etc but not sure that they're bothered as just happy getting people's money
The lounge at Newcastle since the refurb is terrible. I've been three times and the food has been the same each time. And was the same for your visit as well. The breakfast time food is has better options.

@@continentalcoxons I have a Revolut account which gives access to lounged all around the world for £20 each. For that it's not bad value especially if you have a few drinks. Not worth it for the full price though.
Both very different to one another so it's quite hard to say. The area we stayed in Tenerife was really nice to be fair and so very different to Puerto Rico. Both very nice islands though, especially when you get away from the main resorts
Pleased you got that Aspire review in, looks utterly awful in my opinion like a lounge from the early nineties in every way! Lounges are meant to be places where you don't get loads of people or queues anywhere. Football shirt spotted aswell. Clearly just a money spinner and offers nothing like what a lounge should offer in terms of fayre and ambience. Will not be paying for that so thank you. Aye we had an absolute weapon behind us to G. Canaria last year, these types can afford to travel these days unfortunately. Quite like the apartments, basic but everything you need and comfortable. Cheers guys.

Would've been better just going to normal bars in airport, queues would've been fewer and agree, total money spinner. Yes, budget travel has seen and increase in the rowdy crowd, see it a lot more these days unfortunately.

Your rooms are the refurbished ones. You wanna see the old ones😆. My jet2 transfer took over 2 hours crazy never seen nothing like it.

Never booked aspire lounge before but the escape lounge at Manchester airport is pretty good. T2 one has good views too.

@pablouk2001 never had any issues taking the drone anywhere so far thankfully. Yeah take batteries with you in hand luggage and you should be sweet.
