Life has not fallen easily on me just recently and it had been very discouraging a weight. But through this beautiful music sounding through my speakers, I hear the consoling voice of hope come to warm my coldness and hardness, to ease my shame and fear, and to share in my grief and faith. Thank you, my good friend, for being such an encouragement from halfway across the planet. Much gratitude and love from the US.
I'm also going through a very difficult time in my life. These hymns are very beautiful. I send my prayers for both of you, that God almighty see us through these times!
Thank you for this contribution Richard, to impart some peace, hope and sanity in this dark world. Providing the words to the hymns makes all the difference. ✝️🙏🏻❤️
Only now I see you recorded at St Cross. Great organ! Went around to play it when I was in Winchester for the masterclass this summer. Thankyou Richard for this lovely compilation!
Beautiful selection of hymns Richard. Thank you for this program and keeping these hymns alive. So many churches including mine in Texas are wanting to replace hymns and the hymnals with Christian band music. 😢 Enjoyed seeing the different churches and their organs. 🌷
What gorgeous instruments. I love the venues too, many are the ‘greater churches’ of England where you often find unspoiled organs like these that have’t been souped up like the ones in the cathedrals. Lovely evocative compendium for Lent - thank you so much.
Thank you, Richard (and I suspect Caroline) for this lovely selection of seasonal hymns. I can only begin to imagine the logistics of booking, recording and editing, as well as the time involved in adding the words. Three of these four organs are unlikely to ever be sampled as Hauptwerk sets, but they have lovely colours and moving solo stops that deserve to be heard. I have to admit that even the hard copy of Romsey Abbey has something specifically extra and authentic, no offence. Thank you for giving these instruments a wider audience and for adding additional footage of their physical setting and context, as well as some lovely Hants scenery - much appreciated!
Thank's for that. Really enjoyed those organs. You always do an amazing job of showing off incredible cathedral organs, but it was really nice to see those smaller, but equally musical and priceless organs. I was really inspired by this video, with hundreds of simular, yet totally unique pipe organs on my doorstep in rural Shropshire! Would love to see more of these sorts of organs featured; alongside the Cathedral organs of course, because who isn't Tuba and 32Ft reed hungry!
Good day, Richard. Although I have yet to join your patronage, I do plan on doing that in the new future. But, today, and during this most holy season, I wanted you to know that I'm one of your top fans. Your accomplished organ musicianship is phenomenal. May you have a meditative Lent and Holy Week.
Thank you so much for sharing and putting this mix together. As we finish Lent and this coming week we celebrate Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday and walk in remembrance the Way of the Cross of OUR LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, let us remember and carry on HIS works of LOVE of the FATHER, OBEDIENCE even unto HIS Death upon the CROSS, HIS GIFT of HIS BLOOD shed for all humans then and now to REDEEM for ever and to bring us back to the Fold of OUR CREATOR OUR GOD. Whatever we need HE will help alaways May you defend HIM and your beliefs against the most evil men and women our potusa et al who are attacking Christians and Jews like never before. Stand UP and if You DIE for GOD, know at that moment you are an Angel at once in the HOST of HEAVEN who will come and destroy the Evils in the WORLD. Be Peaceful at all times. Use your voices your votes to remove these evil people many Traitors to GOD and our Nation. God Bless and keep you all safe Remember HIS words For lo I shall be with you even unto the end of the world (time) Pax+

God, I love this guys rendition on Jesus Lover of My Soul. One of my all time favorite hymns.
That's in the 1948 LDS (Mormon) hymnal. I like it, too.

Thank You Richard, That was nice background music while I was doing other stuff on the computer.
Dear Richard see you in 21 hours time. Julia Wake from Guildford Surrey 😊
And no spelling mistakes!! Whoo hoo
Brilliant playing! Could the words come just a fraction earlier so that sing-alongers like me can hit the first note of the next line in good time?
I dont think that "green hill" is too green right now, more like arid or bloodstained.
"but they refused!?" what ever happened to "but men made strange"?
