What if AVENGERS VILLAINS were DRAGONS? (Lore and Speedpaint)

- The Avengers very obviously have some incredibly EPIC villains with some awesome and intimidating designs. They're perfect fuel for turning into Dragons! So in this video, I try to answer the question (that nobody was asking) What if Avengers Villains were dragons? And I think the results turned out AWESOME!
So as a follow up to my first episode of Avengers as Dragons from earlier this week (Linked here: • What if The AVENGERS w... ) I drew Thanos, Loki, Ultron and Red Skull into monsters, reptilian beasts. I also lay out some lore for these creatures as the speedpaint is going, explaining their histories and tales based on the Marvel characters they spawn from.
We've got a massive dragon of death, a longtailed trickster drake, an albino skydragon of the same species as our Iron Man Dragon and, of course, a hydra!

for the Loki dragon(sorry if it's spelt wrong) the golden pieces give a nice contrast with the green and the blue sky it just look nice you know, a good look to it.
It is often said that the Loki dragon and Thor dragon have been species rivals since there very beginnings. And if the two cross paths, NOTHING IN A 130 MILE RADIUS IS SAFE... if you see both near your house RUN AWAY!!!

Yet all it speaks is nonsense, presiding that you get it to talk and live to tell about it. No one can figure out how an average peasant girl can understand more on the subject than a dragon. It is kinda sad for the dragon.

Fun fact: hydras aren't dragons. The original hydra was a large multi headed snake native to the swamps of lerna in Greece.

I'm so glad you didn't draw a whole row of teeth for the Loki's dragon.
Yeah just didn't feel right. I thought it made him too inherently menacing looking instead of being deceptively devious as I wanted him to be :P

My god I love what you come up to explain the species of these dragons ! And love the Jormugandr vibe with the Loki dragon (fun fact you probably know this but still: in Norse mythology Loki is the father of Jormungandr)

I've actually read the 60s Nick Fury comic where Hydra first appears, and in that, Hydra's motto was phrased as "cut off one *tentacle* and two more will take its place," so I think it may be possible that Stan Lee just thought that a hydra was some kind of octopus monster... maybe he got them mixed up with krakens or something?
Could you do the My Hero Academia characters as dragons next? They could be My Dragon Academia.

I thought it would fit better with this anime than straight up dragons. On a side note, I totally see Bakugou riding one akin to a winged Brachydios.

PopCross Studios Christian you should make a video which is the option of the community redraw instead of you re-drawing our drawings we redraw one of your drawings and you pick the best ones and art review them basically how you do illustrator reacts

What would you do for "Venomizing dragons" Take popular dragons in media? ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON AND ELLIOT (Pete's Dragon) INTO VENOM CREATURES?!
That hydra was so. Freaking. COOL. Favorite of the video, no doubt. The snout, the coloring, the head positions...the frills were a great touch, too. I also really love the hydra from Hercules, and would be thrilled to see more hydras in the future. Thanos had such a great size and shape and I loved what you did with the jaw; it turned out SO good. Great idea making Ultron a variant of the Sky Dragon; that was a neat touch! I'm still a sucker for an unconventional dragon, of course, so I really loved Loki as well. I think the gold detailing did kind of look more separate from the rest of the dragon, but I feel like that was because you made them look more angular whereas the rest of the dragon was all curves and smooth lines. A little more gold on the rest of the dragon and maybe some more curve to the gold details might have made them look a little more organic? Anyway, another great video!

In hindsight, with Alligator Loki now a thing, the crocodile head is perfect for Loki
the Loki dragon looks like Jormungandr, who ironically is Loki's son if you're up to snuff on your norse myths

I’m not sure but I might like this one a bit more than the first video
Thanos looks large and intimidating, it looks like the type of dragon that could decimate any foe whether Dragon or Man that stands in its way
Loki looks creepy and just a little off, like it knows something you don’t and that it’s watching for that first sign of weakness, personally o would’ve given it the ability to produce a gas from its mouth that made the victim hallucinate or a mind control ability
Ultron looks fantastic, I love the concept of it being the same species as Iron Man and that anytime one is born it’s immediately thrown away to survive in its own
Red Skull looks powerful and constantly enraged, I love the idea of him being a Hydra but I would’ve given him something to represent his cloak from Endgame if you were going for a singular dragon but I understand why you didn’t go for it
Overall loved the vid, you did some great draws, keep up the good work 👍

PopCross Studios That’s fair, the Cap Dragon was a really cool design and yeah I’m really into drawing and obviously there’s hundreds of thousands of different styles of drawing so I like to watch others draw and than go through how I would’ve done

With the Thanos dragon, I believe the Dragon Ball "parts" that you referred to were Nappa and Vegeta's armour at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z (specifically the shoulder pads)

The Metal Grip Hydra. A violent breed of dragon with five heads. The center head is very intelligent and full of cunning while the other heads, which are very durable and can extend, are only capable of very simple and basic thoughts. Because of this, the other heads simply obey the center head.
The Black-Plated Spider-Dragon. A sub-species of the northern spider-dragon, Black-plated Spider-dragons are far bigger and stronger than their smaller and more agile counterparts. At birth, they look identical to a baby spider-dragon but when they reach adulthood they become bigger, stronger, and covered with black plates. They are incredibly hostile and violent, especially towards Spider-dragons. In fact, they often hunt Spider-dragons, not for food but just to kill them.
The idea around the albino version of the iron man was brilliant, I love the thought put into the lores
You need to do another video like this with Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and Hawkeye as dragons!! Also, having the Guardians of the Galaxy as dragons would also be awesome!!

You know... I'm not certain but I can't help but think your gator-esque Loki inspired Alligator-Loki.
Loved this video! About the hydra and how you were saying it doesn't represent how much time you put into it because of the complexity of the heads, I think if you were to give it more time you could have put more work into the body. The body is straight on but if you angled it more it would have give you the side of the body to detail. Or draw it from the back and have the heads turned around to look at something that is behind it! Lastly, maybe one or multiple tails could have completed it (I didn't spot any in the image). Just some suggestions! I know that one especially took you a long time but they are all great! I especially love the Loki one. You said its gold bits look like armor - well that could be things Loki has stolen from his prior protectors >:)
My favorite is albino iron plated sky dragon. It's design, colour and pose look's amazing.

When I draw dragons, I usually end up making all of their bodies similar to each other, but thanks to you, I've been inspired to make more different dragons, so thank you for the inspiration!
