What has improved over the 4 pro. I just got a phantom 2 for dirt cheap ($100) came with everything plus two batteries and a screen for the controller to look at the gopro
My just from the 2mto,the 3 series that’s incredible what DJI has done. 1000 well before my intro, to Drones, think I was still setting in my shack on the ham radio all day though the weekdays. Now since I can’t have radio where I live I have met Drones and I love it just as much. Studying for my Part 107 right nowadays while the weather is cold and snowy. Tomorrow however we take a break and fly gonna be in the 50’s next few days so got to,take advantage of it. Watching batteries charge right now. Still miss radio though. Nice history there Ken!

Dug my Phantom 2 out of the closet and threw a battery on the charger. Also have to charge the GoPro, the controller, and the FPV monitor. I'm already starting to remember how much of a huge PITA this thing was to get off the ground compared to my Mavic 2 Pro. Also, it only connects to GPS. So there've been times I've used almost 5-10% of the battery just waiting for satellites to connect. Oh, and then trying to constantly adjust the directional antenna while I'm flying in order to maintain a clear signal was also a chore. I did get some nice footage of the Santa Monica Pier before I knew, or there was, a flight restriction.
Good news! It still flies! Flew it in the wind too. The newer drones don't seem to care about the wind. You still have to compensate for it with the Phantom 2 though. Also seems to crawl into a head wind, but hauls ass with a tail wind. My Mavic 2 Pro seems to go the same speed no matter what direction and speed the wind is going.

Quick question - I just bought a second hand P2 Vision + but alas as we all now know DJI vision app no longer works with higher iOS versions. What app do you know could possibly work so that I can actually see what I'm filming and get FPV - cheers!

@@KenHeron Oh, started going through your older videos, saw the whole car crash saga. Fully healed since then? I've crushed my tailbone twice playing hockey, and that has its own reminders daily. I can't imagine what a 2x broken back would do.
hi ken.just acquiring a dji phantom 2 soon.so it will come with fc40 camera but want to either use a gopro 3 or my own ricoh wgm1 action camera.so for gopro 3 i need a mount can it be without mtors and will wifi range be ok as standard.steve in uk.
Be careful using wifi mate as it can interfere with signal to control the drone you could get a runaway 😬 I'm using a go pro 3 on a gimbal mount set the frequency to a portable screen and youl get footage of where your looking and recording:-)
pickles014 .hi well I did get a runaway .wasnt using GoPro turned on at time it ended up in a woods up a tree .i managed to spot it and rescue 2 days later I’m a window cleaner.sold that as was never happy with it like my hubsan h501a .ive for a dji Mavic air now,it’s brilliant and lot easy to control.
Looking to buy one with two batteries nothing wrong with it for 50$ should I buy? I have other dji drones just stumbled in this and don’t know if I should jump on it lol

Yeah, it's hard to believe how much better DJI makes a drone with each incarnation.

The little wheel on the upper- left of the controller moves the camera up or down.

Since it's an older drone, make sure your firmware is up to date and do an IMU calibration.
