DJI Phantom 2 vision plus tips for a successful range extender binding

- This video shows a successful binding attempt. Android 7.0 or higher won't bind. You need a phone with 6.0 or older OS to do the binding procedure in the DJI Vision App. Once binding is successful, you can use a newer phone when flying.

My samsung Galaxy S7 edge won't bind a drone, but my s6 does. Moral of the story: if binding fails on one device, try another.

I had success today in binding my WiFi extender. Borrowed the neighbor's iPad 2, iOS 9.3.5 and downloaded the iPhone vision app. Binding went smooth. And now I enjoy FPV with my reflashed board!!!

Oh yeah, after using the iPad to bind. Re-booted and used DJI Vision app on my S7. Works well.

Today I put this drone into operation with Andoid 10. It's simple, just connect the drone to your Android 5-7 phone and then connect it to your Andoid 10. All under one account. And everything works.

Because I´ve tried with LG G6 doesnt work...Ipad 3 ios .9.35 same error.
But with a old motorola G3 android 6.0 works !

Ive collected 4 old smarties', Apple all failed but Samsung has got succesful binding. Really easy and complicated procedure simultaneously...

i have done the same inlc the flash but still no connection the top corner still blank got no conetction but the module see the camera do you think the module is broken?

Seems Android 6.0 or lower is the key to having this work. Anything newer and you're skunked.
@@okstuv I appreciate any insights you may have. I have a dedicated (sim removed) S7 running Android 7.0 that I use with my Mavic Pro (Go4). It won't bind my Phantom Vision 2 +...It seems I can use a program called Odin to downgrade my Samsung's OS. So I guess I'll look for Marshmallow 6.0 (not 6.0.1).
Does this sound right?
If not, I will have to find an old iPad or Android to get my bind done.
@@alano2875 I use an old sprint moto e for binding. Never had luck with an s7 even on android 7, had to use my older s6 on android 7. Good luck

I've got a failed WiFi module...black screen. In attempting to remedy the problem I tried re-binding with my S7 (Doh!) Can't rebind. I'm convinced my problem is the video card in the WiFi module, so I'm going to reflash.
After that I planned on borrowing a friend's iPhone to rebind range extender. Will it work or do I need to locate an S6 to bind.
I assume afterwards I can still use S7 for Vision App. when using the drone.
Any advice/suggestions?
Hi, the key is using Android 7 or earlier, or an early iOS device (not sure the proper version for iOS...)
Once you solve the binding, you can use the DJI Vision app on most newer devices when actually flying.

You can get the DJI Vision app from m.apkpure.com/dji-vision/com.dji.vision and side load it, if it doesn't show in the Google appstore for you. Probably too new of an OS on your device. Works best with Android 6.0 or lower (older).
Hi there, I have a P2 Vision+ that was working perfectly then just the other day, the live feed on the camera stopped working. I didn’t crash or anything, just went to fly and the screen on the app just hourglasses instead of showing the camera feed. Everything else works on the app, just the camera view is gone. Thoughts on how to fix it? 🙂

Your symptoms sound very similar to the common issue that many P2VP's experience - the video transmission module goes bad. I've made a tutorial on how to re-flash this module, built from info that I collected from various forums. I've fixed a bunch of modules using this method. I'd say 80%+ are fixable using this method.

I'm an not getting the binding successful message, it just jumps back into the vision app, how do I fix this? i have tried several different devises and same issue.
The key appears to be that you need to do binding on a device with an older version of Android. Android 7 and below appears to be the key to successful binding.

@@Haxsaw67 Hmmm... try making sure to do the binding away from other wifi sources (router, powered on drone, etc). And failing that, see if you can try another really old Android device to do the binding. I use a really old Sprint Moto E, personally.
@@okstuv has to be the android app, down loaded it to an old iphone and worked 1st time. Wish there was a fix.

@@okstuv yes sir , all the steps are perfect like yours until the last one when I need connect it to the WiFi for the last time ...My one doesn’t find the WiFi connection between them ..😓
Sill question, but is the drone on for the step after 5:30?

@@FlowerhornUK weird. Maybe the drone's module isn't transmitting a wifi signal... So the range extender doesn't have a signal to connect to... Get a wifi scanner on your PC or Mac and confirm that the drone's module is emitting a hidden wifi signal that matches the Mac address you are inputting in your range extender during binding.
Hi, I cant find the MAC adress on my Drone (an old model more than 10 years, DJI Phantom vision with build in camera). I do find a MAC adress on the Renge Extender. I did have connection by wifi but I couldnt see and contol the camera. I have to bind it again
The easiest way to find the Mac address coming off the drones camera is using an Apple MacBook to scan for it. It will have no ssid, and begin with 60:60:... Here's a link to how to scan for it on a MacBook: osxdaily.com/2012/07/31/wi-fi-scanner-mac-os-x-mountain-lion/
Most Android phone wifi scanners won't display Mac addresses for hidden Wi-Fi signals, btw.
